:rotating_light: Governance Post Title Format: “TBR-Q1-2023 - Education Team” :rotating_light: # Team Quarterly Budget Request Template | | | | --------- | ---------- | | Team Name | **Education and Research Team** | | Quarter and Year | **Q1 2023** | | Payout Address | **TBD** | | Total USD Value Requested | **$19,653 USD** | Authors: Noxe, Livster, AndyKaufman @Tim as advisor Credit to Tjark, DaBoom as we used part of their work. # Purpose PoolTogether is the best dApp to onboard new users into crypto and DeFi in a safe and financially healthy way. However, most new crypto users need a guided path and someone to answer their questions as they start their journey. We also need insight into the different target demographics who are on the verge of onboarding into fully decentralized financial solutions. The Education and Research team will create content for non-crypto natives or users new to on-chain, fully decentralized protocols to convert potential PoolTogether Users. The content will be informed by and will contribute to user acquisition research and customer onboarding journeys. # 3 Pillars: Content, Insight, and Collaboration **Content:** The educational content will vary from written short and long-form content, videos, social media content such as threads and infographics, and onboarding initiatives. *Example: We create a step-by-step written guide to adding PoolTogether compatible L2s to your Ethereum wallet.* **Insight:** The educational content will be a positive sum loop for research, analytics, and user acquisition insight. As of right now, we have assumed user groups to target onboarding content towards. The Education and Research team will create this content and use analytics and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the content, who is using it, and how that can shape our onboarding processes. *Example: The step-by-step guide on L2s is translated into Spanish, Chinese, and French. From one piece of content, we will be able to see which language community utilized the guide the most and which L2 links they clicked, further informing content initiatives.* **Collaboration:** The Education and Research team can perform outreach for collaboration with a variety of tools, DAOs, communities, and platforms. Educational partnership opportunities will grow our user base, act as a revenue stream, and increase brand awareness. *Example: The Education and Research team reaches out to Optimism, presenting overwhelming research that the Spanish-speaking community utilized the L2 ETH wallet guide, clicking the Optimism block explorer link the most. In a short survey after their first deposit, they shared that Optimism was their favorite L2. The E&R team proposes an educational Spanish-language initiative with Optimism which passes, funding further content initiatives and scaling our communities across our shared platforms.* # Actionable Next Steps 1. Create onboarding content systems tailored to different user groups in a scalable, customizable manner informed by current crypto market research on new user acquisition 2. Answer the most common questions new DeFi users have via short content in different formats 3. Establish, name, and describe different user acquisition personalities and use content metrics to enhance them over time 4. Create an Education and Research Team bounty board so content can be translated to different language groups, further providing user acquisition research based on metrics 5. Guide users from wallet creation to deposit journey, meeting them where they’re at through automated systems. These systems will change based on language, preferred/necessary on-ramp solutions based on location, and content style preference (written content, emails, video, audio, etc) *Example: user 1 visits PoolTogether and clicks the ‘New to Crypto? Here’s a guide to opening your first wallet’ button, then selects the Chinese translation. After reading, User 1 is asked if the content was helpful and if they’d like to see more. They respond yes and provide their preferred method of continued onboarding content, which triggers automated content delivery* 6. Provide onboarding sessions upon request. *After hearing the council’s valuable feedback, we’ve decided to reduce the focus on 1:1 onboarding because it’s not scalable or time-efficient. However, we do believe having the option will be beneficial for both new users and continued user acquisition research.* 7. Explore new learning tools and maintain existing ones (FAQ bot / written guides) 8. As new integrations & updates go live from PT Inc. the Education Team will create content to explain updates to folks on all levels of experience. 9. Create an Education Hub on the PoolTogether website for people who are completely new to Crypto. This can increase SEO optimization and become a resource for current Poolers to share with their non-crypto native friends to learn fundamentals like wallet creation, on and off ramps, stablecoins, etc. # Team Our current team members include @Tim as Advisor & @Livster & @Noxe and Andy @Tim hosts the PoolTogether Community Podcast, Leads the Growth Team, and reads the Weekly Winners Report on Community Calls. @Livster contributed to the revision of this proposal and the content strategy and plan if the proposal is passed. @Noxe created the French substack, translated the community newsletter to French previously as well as written original tutorials in French and English from time to time. More recently he has helped translate the front-end UI of PoolTogether V4 and maintained it. Noxe has also been hosting 1 on 1 onboarding sessions for French users and also provided a running Merch Store. Andy can provide expertise in onboarding, PoolTogether vibes, content, and research. # Goals Our biggest goal is to help anyone new to Crypto and DeFi find the smoothest route from fiat to ptUSDC, regardless of their experience level, country of origin, age, or financial literacy. *PoolTogether aims to make saving money simple and fun, and the Education and Research Team will scale the reach of the protocol to anyone, but especially those who need it most, but are intimidated by bringing their personal finances on-chain* * Create a knowledge foundation for users to easily understand and use Crypto and PoolTogether * Educate users on how to use self custody wallets, security, on and off ramps from exchanges, and more * Encourage financial literacy and fiscal responsibility through the PT ethos * Show the benefits of a prize savings account * Utilize existing community built tools to teach new users (poolexplorer, PoolyBot etc.) * To start, focus on native language communities with our educational guides, creating a tutorial for each chain/L2 PoolTogether is available on in the 3 additional languages * Gain insight on user acquisition based on content metrics and new user feedback * We’re confident that these goals will bring new users and increase the TVL for PoolTogether # Measuring Performance * Amount of content produced, topics covered, and overall deliverable output. * Monthly analytics report showing which content was used most, how and why it was used, which links were clicked most, shared most, etc. * Quarterly report on user acquisition journeys **What are the group’s principles?** For our team & collaboration: * Community first we > me, DAO > individual, Eco System View > Ego System View * Transparency and Openness * Leaderful Practice: everyone shares the experience of serving as a leader collectively For the content we create: * No Loss, no shill, and beginner-friendly * Promoting savings as opposed to risky investments * Creating only positive-sum outcomes # Content Ideas * Start simple: how to deposit into PoolTogether * How to swap using a DEX * Why we use CEX sometime/how to crypto to fiat * How to bridge * What are Layer 2s and how to use them ### Team Members and Compensation |Role | Yearly USD Compensation | Commitment Percentage | Quarterly USDC | Quarterly POOL | Contributor | Contributor Discord | | ---- | ---- | ---- | ---- | ---- | ---- | ---- | | Onboarding Advocate | $75,000 | 15% | $2,426 |574.76 POOL | AndyKaufman |AndyKaufman#1234 | | Onboarding Advocate | $75,000 |25% | $4,043 |957.93 POOL | ~~Livster~~ OPEN ROLE |~~livster#4913~~ OPEN ROLE | | Onboarding Advocate | $75,000 |30% | $4,852 |1,149.52 POOL | Noxe |Noxe:ocean::trophy:#1780| | Advisor | $75,000 |0% | $0 |0 POOL | Tim |tim#2715| We are open to additional team members to help onboard & support new users to PoolTogether We would love to hear from community members who have created guides & educational content in the past. **Membership** * The content team allows for fluid membership of contributors. * The membership can be obtained after a contributor has published ≥four high-quality pieces of content. * This membership give the ability to GIVE on coordinape. * The group membership can be removed, if: - a member negligently misbehaves (eg acting opposed to our principles or PoolTogether’s values, causing distrust, etc.) - a member has not participated for 3 months without notice # Budget **The Education Team should have a quarterly budget at its disposal.** * During Season 0, the Education Team will iterate on its compensation and budget policy in order to provide transparency to our contributors and help retain core talent while also ensuring budgets are being spent on work that was impactful and valuable. * Part of the budget will be used to fund a dedicated Coordinape circle: - Circle operates in two-week epochs - All team members receive the ability to distribute GIVE by default. * Due to its small size, openness and transparency is encouraged among team members * A mediator is assigned to facilitate fairness in the circle * The outcome of the epochs will allow us to measure the content contributors thought to be most effective.
