:bulb: Pitch idea for a concierge home services company
**Introduction:**
:::success
**Project Alfred is a concierge home services company that offers on demand service for all home needs like repairs, maintenance, or even cleaning.**
:::
**The Problem:**
:::success
The problem for homeowners is threefold:
- **Lack of time** to book and manage repairs.
- **Lack of knowledge** about the home services market leaving homewoners vulnerable to getting overcharged.
- **Lack of bargaining power** when negotiating pricing.
:::
**Solutions:**
:::success
- All customers will be assigned to a **personal conceriage agent** who will help them with all home needs and will be familar with the maintenance status of the home.
- Project Alfred will be **knowledgable** about several verticals and when in doubt will have the network to contact and resolve complicated home matters as they arise.
- Being a part of the Alfred network will give homeowners **network discount rates** when hiring service vendors. The larger the network, the higher the discount.
:::
**Differentiation Plan:**
:::success
Services like **Taskrabbit** and **Angielist** already exist that help homeowners locate service providers nearby and compare quotes between vendors. These services can be great for homeowners looking to be DIY contracters for their own home management, but can get tedious and time consuming for more diffcult projects that need to be completeted.
There are key differences between **Alfred** and these services that will aim to set Alfred apart from the compeition.
- Level of interface - current competitors require users to interface with their service **exclusivley online** and can provide a frustrating expereince for techonolgy challenged homeowners.
- Rely on **homeowners to make the final decision** and take responsbility - ultimately, using these services you are responsbile for the decision and the outcome of the service provider. If the service provider makes mistakes, the **homeowner ends up responsible**
- Lack of barganing powers - Booking through competitor websites still **does not offer homeowners a network** to be apart of.
Alfred will instead offer homeowners
- A **primarily text, call, or email** based experience for homewoeners looking to book service providers. This will aim to give homewoners a **luxary service** feeling, knowing that they are taken care of by an indivudal rather than an AI.
- Alred will eliminate decision paralysis whem choosing vendors and **make the** **best decision** for the homewoner. Additonally, If a homewoner books through Alfred they get piece of mind knowing that Alred **garuentess quaility service** or hefty discounts will be applied (even money back guarantees).
- Being a part of a homeowners network that sources from only select vendors will ofer owners **group rate discounts.**
:::
**Pricing Model:**
:::success
Project Alfred will **generate revenue in two ways**:
- Freemium subscription model:
- **Free** - one service a month
- **Medium**- five services per month
- **Luxary** - unlimited services and will include regular scheduling of maintenance (such as AC filter repairs or gutter cleaning.)
- Refferal fees from vendors
- Targetting a **5-10% referral fee** from vendors.
- The larger the Alfred network grows, the more Alfred can demand from the service providers in terms of pricing and fee structure.
:::
**Target Market:**
:::success
Project Alfred will aim to sign up one neigborhood at a time starting with the **Five Towns in Long Island, NY**. This is an ideal place to start the service because of two key reasons
- Well connected neighborhood where **word of mouth** travels fast. This will help minimize the need for ad spend.
- High average household income with plenty room for **disposable income**: Median $111,030, Average $195,367.
Key demographics in the neigborhood will be targetted:
- Elderly people who find managing home services and repairs **difficult**.
- New and busy homewoners who are both **busy** and **lack the expertise** in the home services market.
:::
**Challenges:**
:::success
Project Alfred is a complicated and multifaceted approach to homeownership service providing. Some challenges will include:
- Ensuring **quality service and affordable pricing** for homeowners while **maintaining profitablity.**
- Establishing a **strong network of service providers** to ensure a reliable and efficient service.
- Building **trust with homeowners** who may be skeptical of a new service provider in the home services industry.
- **Scaling** the business to new neighborhoods and cities **while maintaining quality** in service.
