# Preparing a boot media
Preparing a boot media to boot your chosen Linux Distribution is quite easy
I would generally recommend one of two tools to flash your ISO to a USB Flash Drive:
- [Balena Etcher](https://www.balena.io/etcher/)
- [Fedora Media Writer](https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/download/)
After installing/Downloading, launch the software, and follow the in-app instructions with the ISO you've downloaded
Make sure you've selected the correct USB drive, because the selected one WILL be formatted, and data WILL be lost!
From here, you can continue by [booting your chosen distribution](/j4XWtvX9RF-03PllJ3Fs5g)
