## Synth's Family

Amyclas, Mom She/Her: Greatgrandfather founded Hurricane Auctionneers. A bit of a workaholic. Effectively disowned Synth for the cult stuff, they got into a huge argument about it. They're no longer considered a Hurricane and she went out of her way to tell half of the port, including Polly's family. The two times Synth has visited (once while in the cult and most recently when the crew was in Olm Markutz) she came home to them being there and immediately threw them out. Marriage is on the rocks frfr.

Dio, Dad He/Him: Also not happy about the cult stuff, but was willing to help Synth if they wanted to leave. When they said they didn't, he was hurt. Not as angry as their mother and adamently disagrees with disowning Synth. He still considers them his child even if Amyclas doesn't. When Synth visited and was turned away, he snuck them some old trinkets and a note that promised he still loves them. Is very worried about them.

Siblings:
Cyno He/Him ~65, younger than Synth but not by much: Synth was the oldest of the siblings so a lot of pressure fell on him after they left. When it was for adventure and love, he minded a lot less, but when they turned to the cult and he found out he cut them off entirely. When Synth visited recently, he was the only one they told about The Cleric. He's still mad at them, but he tries to defend them when he can. Hopes they'll be allowed to come back home some day. Currently expected to take over the auction house as he's the eldest (accepted) child but has 0 interest in it. He wants to be a writer and doesn't get enough sleep to manage taking the lead for the auction house with his parents And write his short stories.

Galus He/She ~60: Travelling too now. Amyclas tries to insist that she stay home but she is sick of the port (and the drama) and wants to see what the rest of Beit Routza has to offer. He wants to become a Speaker for The Storm.

Boe He/Him ~50: Developmentally delayed, Synth used to be the only one who could touch them. Since they left, Cyno has become that person. Wouldn't let Synth touch them when they came home. Really into sound art. Their parents are good with Boe but sort of still think that he'll grow out of it.

Lao/Leanira all pronouns ~40: Genderfluid. Wants to take over the auction house. Appraiser. Was grateful when Synth and then Galus left. Shrewd and hard working. Thinks they're too busy to have a relationship (and doesn't want to follow in Synth's footsteps re: Polly) but is a little in love with a dockhand. They were both separately feeding a family of stray cats that refuse to get on any of the ships and now he brings them fresh water and the dockhand brings some of the scraps that she gets from the fishermen.

Palus They/Them ~40: Completely neutral on Synth's whole thing. Thinks that everyone is too busy to be bothered about this. Secretly terrified that their parents are going to split. Helps with shipments and the numbers side of things.

Sandra She/They ~60 but wasn't adopted until they were ~30: Adoptive sibling, Earth Genasi (Quake). Didn't know Synth for long before they went adventuring with Polly. Is the only one who defended them even when they all learned they joined the cult.

Daphne She/Her ~20: Youngest, wasn't old enough to talk when they left. Literally doesn't remember them aside from stories they used to be told. Doesn't know who they are when they visited. Hates them on principle. Has nightmares about the cult coming to hurt the family because of Amyclas' stories/warnings/threats.

Polly's family are all Children of The River, fishermen and dock workers, well liked and loved. His parents tried to get Synth to come home after he died but they pushed them away. If Synth gave them the chance, they'd probably still accept them back in. Never listened to Amyclas about Synth.

Synth and Polly fell in love young, barely adults. It was Synth's idea to travel, Polly smitten and restless at port after hearing all of their stories and dreams of finding the place beyond the barriers. They joined misc. pirate and adventuring crews and had a great time. There was a freak storm that toppled the ship they were on. Synth saw a mast fall and pierce Polly through the chest, but they never found Polly's body. They fled and were found by the cult and they begged for their life. Synth was groomed immediately, pledging to the cult and The Cleric with complete devotion. They tried to go home once while in the cult and it was a Disaster.
