RSS-Feeds of Audiopostings are piped into a transcription software, meta-data is extracted and put into a search-db. ECB should enable the cross platform sharing of this meta-data and a common search function. - **hackathon feb 2022 in Linz (funding for travel is available)** Alexander and Franz already discussed how to use this hackathon. they plan on using it for working on implementation. there is also the idea of one conference day during the time of the hackathon (up to a week) - **pre-meeting (remote or in-person in Freiburg, Ger) in oct/nov 2021** amongst other things there should be a discussion about what standards should be used in ECB 2.0 ### questions for further planning we'd like to get a conversation going on what data we actually want to connect, and how we'll actually develop ECB. the following questions for each participating future node could start this: - how many media files are publicly available? - (how) is metadata machine-readable at the moment (rss feeds, APIs, microdata, ..)? Gerald (XRCB): RSS prefered since most platforms already use it. - what metadata and data model does your existing platform have (relationships, fields) - how/who is able to extend the machine-readable interface if more metadata is available internally (eg license is in platform db but not in rss feeds - can you easily add new fields to the rss feed, ...) - do you have infrastructural capacity to host an OAS/ECB node (vserver for elasticsearch + replication, (gpu) compute for asr) additionally we'd like to open up the process for the core development - interest in participation in development? Pedro (xrcb) interested in OAS for Spanish and Catalan. We are very interested in this technology, that could include bug reporting / beta testing Near.fm runs two Platforms: an archive with a lot of metadata and a podcasting platform that is quite active but doesn't have that much metadata. - interest in participation in developing local integrations (1k per partner available from ecf grant atm, maybe more if coupled with platform/network development) - are we planning on applying for larger funds in the future? yes, we are thinking about applying for a call by the european comission. we are not quite shure which type of funding we should apply for. there is no call that fits exactly our project. we are also looking for other funds by foundations. ### quick brainstorming: features for ecb 2.0 eg: - "related content from ecb" embed for local platforms - ... ### next steps Communication in this group? Nico should be available after July 9 or 12. Paul wants to discuss what exactly it is what we are wanting to do!
