  • Rush's Chat Rules 1. Do not disrespect anyone in the chat for any given reason. This includes, but is not limited to: Insulting another user Spreading misinformation about another user Defaming another user in any way This rule also applies to DMs sent from my chat. Anyone is free to report this behavior coming from my chat and it will be dealt with provided proper evidence.

  • :::danger Any future edits to this page will be moved here! ::: Because people keep getting into this argument with me: Why I dislike Windows. I've decided to curate a list of reasons I dislike Windows, as I generally don't want to re-list every single reason over and over again when I'm talking with someone.

  • Stop over-organizing Chats. Recently I've noticed that many chats are way too over-organized, specifically on Discord, Revolt and Guilded. By that I mean that there's way too many channels for a specific purpose. For instance, instead of one #OffTopic channel, you might have an entire OffTopic category with a main chat, Tech-Talk, Music, Pet images... This can be quite annoying to talk in, as for every change of topic, you need to switch channels on most servers according to the rules. Let me give you an example. Here is a screenshot of the "General" category on the Linux Mint Discord server, which is steadily growing in terms of channels, with more and more categories added over time: (I only used this as an example, no hard feelings, love y'all!)

  • Essentials --- A questionable Minecraft Mod... A couple of months ago, a friend of mine showed me a mod called "Essentials" This mod sets out to fix many shortcomings of the Java Edition of the game, specifically in the Cosmetic and Social departments. It did this by implementing the following features: A Friends System World-joining accross the Internet, with Friend-invitations Player cosmetics (Wings, Hats, Clothing, etc) Inbuilt Cloud-synced chatting functionality

  • I've had enough of RKBDI Today in @AndroidRepo , I got into an "argument" with RKBDI RKBDI is someone you might know for designing logos to many OSS/FOSS projects, like Waydroid or Ubuntu Cinnamon Though, he also "moderates" AndroidRepo's chat. if you want to even call it moderation... The conversation started when RKBDI asked why so many people were using OwlGram, a custom Telegram client I replied to him as objectively as I could, specifically, I said the following:

  • I'm tired of Google adding features to "Android" The last couple of Android releases were nothing too special, we had the usual really: New APIs Privacy improvements UI changes etc... But in the past couple of Android versions we've also seen Google add plenty of features related to accessibility and updates, and this is where I'm especially mad about, as they're not as accessible as one would hope them to be.

  • My general thoughts on Meta's visions Meta being the "backbone" of the Metaverse is simply wrong. And I think I have good reasons to think that. If you've not heard somehow, Facebook has renamed themselves to "Meta", to portray their vision of building a Metaverse, which would basically make it so that most, if not all things, are interconnected by a single service, through which assets of pretty much any kind could be shared though, I think Meta, or even other companies having control over this, is a very, VERY BAD idea. Meta, or previously Facebook, has proven that they do not care about their users or their rights several times before, be it through invasion of privacy, or running psychological studies on around 650k people without consent, they just generally don't care about their users, what those users think, nor the feedback etc, and just do what brings them the most profit overall.

  • :::warning Make sure to read up on how to use HackMD comments here ::: Why Minecraft Java Edition's new report system is horrible If you've been around the Minecraft community for a bit, specifically playing on Java, then you might've noticed that in a recent snapshot, and recent Minecraft versions in general, reporting user's chat messages became a thing. Generally, it works like this: When you see someone breaking chat "rules", you can highlight particular messages to report them, and are then given a box with a 1000 character limit in which you can further explain what happened This also confirms that there will likely be human moderation involved

  • Minecraft has honestly changed my life. I know, this is quite random of me to post, but whilst listening to the OST, I realised that the game has affected me a lot more than I first realised. The game was what got me interested in so many things, and tought me a lot more than I realised as a kid. Not only did it teach me to think logically, in a 3 Dimensional space, it has also tought me to interact with other people, it even taught me how to use computers to a certain extent. And that's where it gets a little bit crazy for me to think about, through me having modded the game at the age of between 7-7.5, I learned to understand how to navigate through folders and use Files correctly, as well as installing software, and just generally got me quite interested in technology This was just furter strengthened by the fact that I got my first Android phone when I was 8, which was when I started wanting to mod the Pocket Edition of the game, though back then I was uninformed and MCPE modding was different from how it is today, with early versions of BlockLauncher. Back then, when you wanted to extract the official resource pack, you needed Root Access, this was also when I accidentally bricked my device, tough it taught me a lot.

  • Androidacy kinda sucks. (In it's current form) I'm getting straight to the point here. Androidacy promises to be the thing that "your device deserves", yet they modify every single module from the Magisk Module Repository, adding their own watermark and launching your web browser with their website, every. single. time. This is basically a cashgrab from Androidacy as their website serves ads, and has a pretty aggressive ad-blocking detection method, which blanks the entire screen in bright red unless you whitelist the website. :::danger do also note that some people don't even know their browser has an AD-Blocking feature, nor how to turn it off. ::: Not only is this probably done without permission, but also, most people that I've talked to, which got their modules moved from the official Magisk Module Repository aren't even aware of the fact that their Modules have been tampered with (or in some cases even moved at all) without permission.
