# Maxon Blender: The Open-Source 3D Modelling Software
During the 3D modelling process, objects are constructed in three dimensions using specialised software. Models for everything from objects and architectural blueprints to video games and movies can be created using these computer technologies. One of the most well-known 3D modelling software programmes available at the moment is Maxon Blender.
Blender was developed by Dutch animation studio NeoGeo as an internal tool back in 1995. It was initially made accessible to the public on October 13 of that year under the GNU General Public License (GPL). The CGI and VFX industries have been using Blender more and more since it was introduced more than 20 years ago.
