# Week 0 Development Update

Hi, everyone. I go by Clouds.

I am currently a Smart Contract/Fullstack engineer and have been for the past 3 years. In my journey to gain a deeper understanding of the EVM, I began searching for up-to-date resources to learn from. Through that, I came across the EPF study group and, at the same time, noticed the EPF fellowship.

I will be joining permissionlessly and will use the next 2ish weeks to continue through the EPF lectures while looking for which piece of Ethereum speaks most to me and will hopefully inspire a project, or I will find an interesting one in the suggestions.

**This week**, I have spent my time learning about the different parts of Ethereum using the EPF study guide, and how both the Consensus Layer and the Execution Layer play their parts in creating a decentralized and trustless state machine.

Before joining and starting my studies, I was always interested in working on the EVM, but learning that the EVM itself is only one small part of this entire system has changed my views radically. My inquisitive nature is excited to learn more about all the other parts of Ethereum.
