# Observable Notebooks for prose, code, and gorgeous visualization on the web
## Friday, May 21st, 2021 3\:00-5\:00
[Back to Resbaz HackMD Directory](https://hackmd.io/@ResBaz21/directory)
This workshop aims to introduce participants to ObservableHQ which is a relatively new platform used for data visualization, and so much more. We will cover what a notebook is, explore trending examples, and pursue any other inspirations that strike in the course of the workshop. When you leave this workshop you will know how to go from blank slate to published piece visible to the world ( if that’s your thing) all hosted on ObservableHQ. Some exposure to Javascript is going to make this a better workshop experience for you, but honestly we'd love to have you if you've got a machine with a web browser and a thirst for adventure! Note, we will be recording this session so make sure you’re alright with that if you attend.
