# Charter of the Augustan Federation

> *Tollimus autem et abolemus omnino vetus calendarium, volumus que ut omnes patriarchæ, primates, archiepiscopi, episcopi, abbates et ceteri ecclesiarum præsides novum calendarium (ad quod etiam accomodata est ratio martyrologii), pro divinis officiis recitandis et festis celebrandis, in suas quisque ecclesias, monasteria, conventus, ordines, militias et diœceses introducant, et eo solo utantur, tam ipsi quam ceteri omnes presbyteri et clerici sæculares et regulares utriusque sexus, necnon milites et omnes christifideles, cuius usus incipiet post decem illos dies ex mense Februarius anni MMXXI exemptos*

### A. Membership

1. Any state may apply for Federation membership on grounds of their Augustan culture, heritage, geography, or spirit
2. The Augustan Council will rule on whether to admit the applicant, and whether they shall have one or two representatives if they are to be a member of the Augustan Council
4. A new Augustan Council member state shall have one or two representatives as determined by the Augustan Council according to population and industrial capacity
6. The Augustan Council may expel any Augustan Council member state with two-thirds approval
7. The Augustan Council may expel any Augustan Associate member state with majority approval
8. Any member state may unilaterally exit the federation at any time

### B. Governance

1. The Federation may issue a ruling with majority approval of the Augustan Council
2. The Augustan Council shall not rule on local matters of member states
3. The Augustan Council may modify this document at any time with two-thirds approval
4. Representatives shall be nominated according to the process specified by their member state under Signatories
5. Any member state may unilaterally modify their representative nomination process at any time
6. The Augustan Council shall elect one representative to serve as President of the Augustan Federation according to first-past-the-post voting rules
7. The President shall be responsible for representing the Federation in foreign affairs
8. The President shall serve a three month term
9. The council may recall the president with a majority vote.

### C. Agreements

1. All member states agree to abide by the Charter of the Augustan Federation
2. All member states agree to maintain mutual nonagression and resolve disputes through national law whenever possible
3. All member states who are part of the Augustan Council agree to defend fellow Augustan Council members from unjust aggressors
4. All member states who are part of the Augustan Council agree to establish no military relations with nonmember states except collectively through the Federation

### D. Signatories

1. The representatives for Mount September are recognised as the Mayor and one other person appointed by the Mayor, who may not be removed for one month after appointment.
2. The representative for Iria is recognized as the head Councillor
3. The two representatives for the Confederation of Cities Communes and Protectorates are the Premier and Vice Premier
4. The representative for Venne is determined by Venne's council
6. Beretia is recognized as an Augustan Associate member
7. Lambat is recognized as an Augustan Associate member
