# Week 8 at Blockfuse Labs – My First Web3 Hackathon & Prodfest Experience
This week at **Blockfuse Labs** was unlike any other — it was all about **hackathons, prodfest, and networking**. For me, it was extra special because I got to participate in my **first-ever Web3 hackathon**.
## The Hackathon Experience
Walking into the hackathon space felt both exciting and intimidating. Hackathons are intense: you’re expected to brainstorm, build, and pitch a working solution in just a short amount of time.
This was my first Web3 hackathon, and I quickly learned that:
* Collaboration is everything
* Ideas evolve fast when you’re surrounded by creative minds
* You don’t need to be perfect just start building
I got hands-on experience applying the **Solidity basics** I’ve been learning, while also seeing how those concepts power **real-world dApps**.
## Prodfest Vibes
Alongside the hackathon, there was **prodfest** a showcase of products, projects, and innovations. It was inspiring to see what teams and individuals are building in the Web3 space.
Some highlights for me:
* Watching people confidently present their projects.
* Seeing the creativity behind new Web3 tools and applications.
* Realizing that blockchain is not just theory — it’s a growing ecosystem with real impact.
# Networking & Meeting New People
One of the best parts of Week 8 was the chance to **interact with new people**. I got to:
* Meet fellow builders, mentors, and innovators.
* Share ideas with other first-time participants.
* Learn directly from people already building in the Web3 ecosystem.
The sense of **community and collaboration** stood out to me. Everyone was eager to share, teach, and grow together.
## Reflections
* Hackathons are about **learning by doing**, not just competing.
* Web3 has an incredible community — open, supportive, and fast-moving.
* My confidence in Solidity and smart contracts grew by seeing them used in live projects.
* I left motivated to keep building and to participate in more hackathons in the future.
## Key Takeaways from Week 8
* Hackathons is the fastest way to learn and grow in Web3.
* Prodfest showed me the power of sharing your work.
* Networking is as valuable as coding the people you meet can shape your journey.
* First Web3 hackathon experience = unforgettable milestone.
Week 8 was all about **stepping outside my comfort zone**. I didn’t just study Web3 I experienced it, lived it, and connected with the amazing community behind it.
I’m excited for what’s ahead as I continue this journey with Blockfuse Labs .
