# The issue of crossbreeding Slime Core Crossbreeding makes up a large chunk of Xenobiology content. While making up a creative use for every single slime combination was an interesting goal, this has failed due to the hundreds of possible required effects, which has never been finished. Ever since, it has been in a vestigial state. As it takes some time to breed the required amount of slimes an their types, the xenobiologist will vanish in their lair for an hour, disconnecting them from the round until they decide to emerge. The result of their efforts will largely depend on what colours they focused on. Some of these effects will be highly dubious, with barely any use, or are overshadowed by other sources. Some of these effects are extremely powerful, and can turn the xenobiologist into an unkillable foe. # Effects of crossbreeding removal Axing crossbreeding might lessen the issue of xenobiologists holing up in their department. Though one must admit, caring for slimes for their basic, and often quite strong effects would still be time consuming. While most of the extract effects would not be missed, many unique items and statuses would be lost. These two issues would make xenobio feel more unrewarding then before. Therefore, the old system has to be replaced, instead of just flat out killed. # Slime bounty console The slime bounty console would show the xenobiology department's relationship with the research partners known from NT Frontier. Each of these would require certain cores. Based on supply and demand, along with random fluctuations, selling specific cores to them would increase their relationship values, which would be separate from the relationship points generated by explosive research papers. These relationship points would be exchanged for rewards. * Biological Research Division: Would require slime cores that are biological in theme, such as green. Mainly medical devices. * Defense Partnership: Would require slimes cores that could be used as weapons. Would provide experimental armor or weapons. * Mining Corps: Would require slime cores that produce minerals, or would be feasible used for mining or engineering purposes. Would provide engineering and mining gear. * NT Physics Quarterly: Would require slime cores with weird effects, paying out with similar strange items. * Ghost Writing: Random cores. General slime items. # Rehoming of existing effects Some of the current crossbreed effects would be moved to this system, with a case-by-case analysis. If a crossbreed core effect is interesting or unique, and it fits one of the research partners, it will become a possible redeemable rewards. If an item does not fit a theme, it might be rethemed (for example, the slime battery would be a makeshift battery made by a miner). Some items might be instead moved to the black market, rebalanced (adamantine armor might not be offered by the mining corps as it is really strong, but would become a black market Ned Kelly style makeshift armor at lower defense values). Failing that, they might be relagated to lavaland rewards (if they can be used by miners to help defend vents) or space ruins (if all else fails). Most items rewarded by the bounty console should be useful for other jobs, inciting the xenobiologist to emerge from their department more often to peddle their wares. Based on Purple/Black. * Linked Slime Drone: Create a slime drone which you can control. Decays over time. Based on Blue/Cerulean. * Morphogenic Field Extender: Changes your name and species while held. Based on Dark Blue/Green. * Rebreather: Constantly heals oxygen damage. Based on Blue/Blue. * Symbiotic tentacles: Replaces one arm. Steals HP from strangled people. Based on the Dark Blue/Black slime's effect. * Toxin Affinity Serum: Gains Toxin Lover for a minute. Based on Silver/Dark Purple ## Defense Partnership * Barricade Gel: Creates three slime barricade spawners. Based on Blue/Grey. * Bloodchiller: Creates a gun that uses your blood as ammo. Based on Blue/Green. * Protective gel: For a minute, decreases damage received. Gives an obvious visual effect. Takes time to apply. Based on Silver/Adamantine. * Rainbow Knife: Knife that constantly changes damage types. Weaker than the original implementation. Based on Orange/Rainbow. * Slime blade: Armblade. Weaker than a real armblade. This version needs surgery to apply, does less damage, and covers target in slime. Based on Orange/Green. * Slime infused combat cigarettes: Same 20 nicotine, 15 regen jelly, 4 krokodil contents as right now. Based on Metal/Black. ## General * Genome Stabilizer Gel: Makes slime unable to mutate. Based on Yellow/Blue. * Paintmaker: Spraycan. Recharge it with slime cores, which also sets its colour. Based on the rainbow line. * Slime Cookie Cookbook: A cookbook that teacher the reader how to make slime cookies, which are just cosmetic now, mostly. Based on the silver line. * Slime Pacification Pheromones: Pacifies all slimes in range. Based on Blue/Red. * Slime Puppy: A cute slime puppy. Based on Blue/Pink. * Slime Revival Gel: Revives a dead slime. Based on Yellow/Grey. * Supressant Resin: Completely new item. A fire extinguisher that slows down people and slimes caught in its foam. Based on Metal/Blue making fire extinguishers, but with an added effect. ## Mining Corps * Adamantine Shield Kit: Can be used to create a shield that has to be lifted with two hands, if you can supply adamantine sheets. Based on Orange/Adamantine. * Field Cooking Mitts: Can work as an oven or a microwave on touch. The original only had microwave touch. Based on Dark Blue/Dark Purple. * Lavaproofing Alloy: Makes a piece of clothing lava proof. Based on Yellow/Red. * Makeshift Plasma Cell: High capacity, high loading cell. Based on Yellow/Yellow. * Makeshift Plasma Lighter: Burns bright, can be used as a welder. Based on Metal/Orange. * Spaceproofing Resin: Makes a piece of clothing space proof. Based on Yellow/Dark Blue. ## NT Physics Quarterly * Bluespace Anchoring Fluid: Allows you to link to a bluespace beacon. Teleport to it when crushed. The original teleported you to the creation location. Healing removed. Based on Purple/Bluespace. * Chrono Slippers: Randomly slows down and speeds up the wearer. Turned to a shoe so it can waddle. Based on Dark Blue/Sepia. * Organic Inducer: Works like an inducer, and is then used up. Based on Blue/Yellow. * Organic Matter To Energy Device: The pokéball style capture device. Based on Blue/Gold. * Prism Glasses: Creates a pair of Prism Glasses, which allow the wearer to place colored light crystals. Based on Blue/Pyrite. ## Other items * Deja Vu Camera: Moved to mining loot. Could be useful during drone defense. * Camera Obscura: Chaplain has one and can make more, but would be a funny additional black market item. * Heroin Bud: Black market item, but a version that decays while worn. * Adamantium Armor: If weakened and reflavoured as an Assistant Ned Kelly Armour, might appear in the black market. * Legion Skullcap (unsure about this one): Distinctive skull helmet.
