# Gamejam plan: Project DORF, management game
## Premise
The game is about a mining settlement on a mysterious planet, as a foreman of Project Dimensional Operational Recon Fortress. You have to balance the two important tenets of being a "DORF":
* Brave the dangers of the depths
* Be boisterous and cheerful
## Goals
The aim of the game is about making hard choices as you spin the plates and expand your operations, while learning more about this mysterious world. The should also have a clear endgoal, and shouldn't go on forever. This end goal should be reached in multiple ways, and not just by running the operations until you reach the bottom of the map.
## Anti-goals
Hardcore survival is not relevant for this game. Miners will not starve or die, but they might quit or get covered in bandages. Mining is one of the deadliest professions in the world, but this game is intended to be more lighthearted. Dorves do not fear what lie beneath!
## Statistics
* CHEER: The collective joy your miners feel while enjoying one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.
* DANGER: The deeper you go, or the more dangerous and lucrative the world is.
* GOLD: Moneys and gems, as a currency.
* ENERGY: Used to run machinery.
## Sites
The world is divided into sites, connected by tunnels. Sites are initially mining sites, with a limited building types and slots, which mainly provide energy and gold. Once mined, they can be turned into basecamps, with different less lucrative, but danger decreasing or cheer increasing equipment.
## Tunnels
The dangerous tunnels that connect sites. Have to be patrolled and/or maintained, to ensure a safe escape.
## Expansion
You will be given vague but useful information about the various nearby sites and their connectivity. This way, the player won't have to go into places completely randomly, but can make an educated guess.
## DORF types
* Kobolds: Small chameleons, likes cursed technology
* UNDERBOT: Robots created specifically for mining
* Dorf: The extremely average, ideal dorf.
* Termite and Termite Rider: Two in one! Symbiotic members of bonded species.
* Royal Blue Ant: Sad, gloomy, doomseeing folk, who nevertheless does not give up.
* Baldarf: Scared of the underground and darkness.
* Minemite: Stout creatures, prone to greedy claim jumping.
* Novanosed: Molves with the power of stars.
* Hopelings: Nomimally dorf, more like a quarterling. Hates GaDNAlf.
* Arctorian Polerese: Bearlike dorf creature. Hungry.
* Cave Bishop: A cave religious creature, with their homemade religion.
* Yargling: Friendly feral creature.
