# Sheffield at the bottom of the top flight with 100 runs scored

British media outlet "Sports Bible" reported on the 5th (Korea Standard Time) that "Sheffield has set a record that has not occurred in English first division football for 115 years."

According to Sports Bible, after the EPL was launched in 1992, Swindon Town scored 100 runs in 1993/94 seasons, but the number of games played was 42.

Sheffield, who was promoted to the EPL last season with 28 wins, seven draws and 11 losses (91 points) in the Championship, struggled in the top flight. Sheffield has not won in 10 matches since the opening of the 2023/24 season. It grabbed its first win at the Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 11th round, but the slump continued thereafter. Sheffield remained in the relegation zone throughout the season.

Sheffield Wednesday replaced Paul Heckingbottom in December last year and appointed Chris Wilder, who led his team to ninth place in the EPL in the 2019/20 season, to no avail. Even after Wilder's return, Sheffield failed to rebound with two wins, five draws and 15 losses. Sheffield was ultimately confirmed to be demoted early with four league games remaining in April.
