# Project Towny Admin War System - Design Doc
*For Project Towny Update 0.7 (Research Update), Version 1.0*
*Currently in early planning stages, nothing seen below is final!*
*It should be noted that this is a temporary system to facilitate and test war before it's complete implementation in 0.8*

## Admin Run Wars - An Introduction
Due to the highly requested nature of war during our 0.6 playtest I've created the basis of a system to allow more involved wars to happen, without the need to create super in depth systems to facilitate it.
Introducing Admin Wars! Wars facilitated by us admins that allow for a rudimentary system of conflict between nations.
## Declaring War
Admin wars start by a declaration of war being sent to a member of the admin team. This declaration will outline who is declaring war, who they are declaring war against, and for what reason they are doing so.
Admins should ensure that they look at the reasoning and make sure that it is justified to an extent. We want players to have the freedom to declare wars when they want, but declaring war against people without any valid reason will result in wars just for the sake of it, so we have to at least moderate to some extent. If the reason isn't justifiable (for instance they just want a war for fun) the war can still occur the target just also has to agree to fight in it.
Upon admin approval of the declaration of war both groups will be at war with each other and ranks with be given to all members of each group to indicate who in the discord is currently at war. The declaration will also be announced in a discord server so everyone can keep track of the active wars.
## Fighting in War - Battles
Once a war is actively occurring between two groups fighting is allowed as much as either side likes, however to progress in the war admin moderated battles will take place. Those battles will follow the following procedure:
1. Battle date is determined
2. A coin is flipped, winner decides to attack or defend
3. An hour of prep time is given for both groups to come up with a strategy, get their members online, and travel to the location of the battle
4. Following the prep hour the battle commences. The two sides will have 1 hour, or until they have defeated all members of the other side, whatever occurs first. After the fighting ends whatever side got the most kills is marked the winner of the battle
5. Additional battles occur until one side surrenders or until 3 consecutive battles have been lost
## Ending War
Once a player has either been defeated or surrenders the winner of the war can take whatever they want from the loser, based on admin approval. If possible only things that were originally outlined in the war declaration should be taken, but this is left up to admin discretion.
