# [Triumph Sub-Species] Formikrag Kobolds :::info :bulb: Fun fact: Their name is derived from Formic acid, one of the weakest acids that exists, and is in real life utilized by one of our beloathed pests, the ant. ::: ## :books: What are Formikrag Kobolds? :::success A genetic mutation coming into existence against all odds, gross and mostly pathetic. ::: Formikrag Kobolds are native to the acid pool region of the Subterra, though not many in number as the region is deadly to anything living, this hearty pest has now adapted very minor resistances to the regions acids from years of consuming and feasting on the local fauna (And quite regularly dying from both said fauna and the consumption of it) While possesing a slightly more dangerous (and disgusting) look compared to the "normal" kobold, they are in most ways just as harmless and pest like as them. ## :pencil2: What are their unique gameplay gimmicks? :::success The Formikrag Kobold differs from a normal one in four fairly big ways. ::: 1. Due to their kind being extremely repulsive they'll have the ugly trait and Their statline will be changed to better represent a more bulky, slow kobold rather then the current rat type. 2. They will have the ability to try to produce a weak acidic attack in the form of a spit on a fairly long cooldown, this will have about a 20% chance to fail and in turn backfire and cause toxin damage to the kobold itself. 3. They will have a new wing organ, but, due to their bulky nature and the wings being extremely pitiful this is a mostly useless mutation that will only let them hover over no terrain for about three to five seconds, before quickly crashing down and likely breaking all of their bones if they do not find solid ground. (Like other unique species organs, this could also be harvested and grafted onto somebody. Though just like the species itself, this would be quite a pathetic power up.) 4. They will lose the ability to eat rocks and will gain the weakest darkvision available due to the acid pool region being generally well lit compared to the rest of the subterra and cave systems kobolds are normally adjusted too. ## Final notes - steamhappy I'm not very good at writing design documents, and this is mostly for Cheffie who was in a three hour call with me while we were discussing lore and gameplay design, so if something confuses you or doesn't make sense... My bad gang, feel free to ask for clarification!
