Delhi Shivers in Cold Embrace, Air Quality Remains 'Poor'
New Delhi: Delhi woke up to a chilly Monday morning with the minimum temperature dipping to 8.2 degrees Celsius, 1.2 degrees below the season's average. The drop in temperature follows light rain showers that swept through parts of the city on Sunday evening.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a maximum temperature of around 23 degrees Celsius for the day. Sunday recorded the second-lowest daytime temperature of the winter so far at 23.7 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity on Monday morning was recorded at 100%, indicating a damp and cold start to the day.
Meanwhile, the city's air quality continues to remain in the 'poor' category with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 212 at 9 AM, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.
The CPCB classifies an AQI between 201 and 300 as 'poor', which can cause discomfort to sensitive groups and individuals with respiratory issues.
