## Communications
Alwasy ensure radio on back, don't need short wave. You can have one, but not needed
Tune into following freqs
Aviation - 60MHz
Zeus Role - 50Mhz
Program radio - self interact > radio
- select Ch1 - if not already on 50 hit MENU/CLR
- enter 50 on keyboard
- Then hit FREQ to store the frequency.
- Hit Channels 2, repeat for 60MHz
To change between channels hit ctrl+1 ctrl+2, ctrl+x etc etc.
Advice - don't use speakers, everyone hears it, it gets annoying.
Volume control on Time.
If running two channels, go to channel 2,
** additional channel needs testing for documentation assigning different cahnnels to different ears **
ctrl+capslock/T for long range. You can check bindings in addons for tfar.
all communication format
You are Y they are X
X this is Y Message
Y this is X - response
### Important words
Break - used for gaps in information. Think of it as a full stop
over and out - should be used but not necessary. Over - you've stopped talking. Out - conversation is over. Over and out should not be used together.
Never say repeat over net as it is used to a repeat an arty barrage. Use say again instead.
### 5 Lines
The format of a 5 line is:
Initiate with "Hey you this is me resupply request five line to follow"
Line 1. Where friendly Pos is
Line 2. Where the request is needed / Target
Line 3. Information
Line 4. Ingress Egress
Line 5. Remarks
Example:
"Shrimboat 1 this is Tusk 1 resupply request 5 line to follow"
"Tusk 1 Send 5 line for resupply"
"Shrimpboat 1 Roger break,
Line 1 friendlies at grid 011023 break,
Line 2 resupply needed at same grid break,
Line 3 resupply of ammunition and medical needed break
Line 4 Ingress South, Egress North break,
Line 5 troops in contact need resupply ASAP
Over."
At this point the ground callsign is waiting for a read back
Once the readback is complete, the ground callsign will say it's good or correct you.
## Conduct in air.
Don't fly near AA, if you don't think you won't make it out, say no. But explain why.
## Pilot check in
Conversation with RTO discussing your airframe and role.
Should go as follows:
At the start of a mission, the RTO will state when he is ready to receive the check-in briefing.
This could be done at the airfield / base, but can also be done in the field.
You are to contact the RTO and list the following points in the same order.
[1] Designation and Amount of Aircraft
State the amount and designation, including variant where necessary; multiple aircraft are to be broken up into 1-1, 1-2, etc.;
[2] Position and altitude:
State HP and altitude in meters or angels; if you are at the airfield, say where you will be
[3] Ordnance
Includes main cannon; amount of the munition + munition designation; air to air armaments are to be summed up to "able to provide AA"; Munition Guidance is to be given as the first two letters in the NATO alphabet With Transport Aircraft Ordinance can be replace by equipment carried or ammount of persons the aircraft can carry.
[4] Time on station
Unless a time restraint is given, TOS will always be "till bingo" (Bingo being minimum fuel required to reach friendly airbase)
[5] Abort code
Wave off wave off wave off
All amounts will be give as "Figures" to not confuse designation numbers with the amount of the weapon.
If a situation happens where an aircraft RTBs for rearm and changes a pilot, we'll use the "Check-in adjustment" procedure:
## Practical
Get engineer perms and a toolbox or you may get stranded.
Perms from the flagpole, ace interact for relevant repairs.
Rotar, Fuel Tank, Tail Rotar, Avionics most important to make sure are repaired
### Rearming and Refueling
Whilst near a fuel or ammo truck
interact on fuel truck to refuel
interact on aircraft to configure pylons.
interact on ammo truck to rearm
Repair Truck repairs aircraft whilst you are inside the aircraft and near to the repair.
### Flight Tips
Don't fly lower than 250-300M
Don't go full tilt whilst flying - 160-200Kph
AI calculate where you'll be based on current velocity. Dive, increase speed and bank
Do not land faster than 65kph horizontal. Higher than this is instant death.
### Things to Practice
Spot Landings
Jhooks
### Entering and Exiting a Helicopter
Higher Ranks on the MG's
Everyone disembark, MG will be last man out and say 'last man out'
Helo then free to disembark
If a team Lead tells you to get on the gun, get on the gun.
### Smoke Colours (yes i'm british)
Green - Friendly
Red - Enemy
Yellow - Concealment
Purple - Mass Cas
Orange - demolition
White - only used by enemy unless otherwise discussed.
blue - break in chain of command.
