## Section I: Departmental Structure
### 1: Rank Organization
**Police Cadet** - A recruit within the Police Department, desginated under the Police Department's Academy. Cadets are entered into a 1 week probationary period after finishing the academy.
**Police Officer** - An employee under the Police Department, tasked with enforcing the law.
**Detective** - A police officer who is designated under the Criminal Investigations Unit or Internal Affairs tasked with the investigation of crime or inter-departmental problems.
**Corporal** - A rank that is tasked with overseeing all officers within their unit, and when needed fills in for their Sergeant.
**Sergeant** - A supervisory position that oversees all officers within their assigned unit.
**Lieutenant** - Oversees a division/unit under a bureau. A lieutenant ensures that their division is ran effectively.
**Captain** - Oversees their assigned bureau and ensures that all divisions within that bureau are performing at their best.
**Assistant Chief** - Oversees all bureaus and how they are being run. The Assistant Chief reports directly to the Deputy Chief.
**Deputy Chief** - Assists the Chief of Police, oversees the whole department and reports directly to the Chief of Police.
**Chief of Police** - The head of the department.
### 2: Department Structure
**Patrol Division** - Tasked with patrolling areas such as Harrison Township, Roseburg, etc. This division is led by a Lieutenant and is under the Field Operations Bureau.
**Training Division** - Responsible for the training of police cadets and gets them out of the academy. This division is led by a Lieutenant and under the Field Operations Bureau.
**Criminal Investigations Unit** - Responsible for the investigations of street crimes, gang crimes, etc. This unit is led by a Lieutenant and is under the Specialized Operations Bureau.
**Strategic Response Unit** - Responsible for deploying during mass crime, riots, etc. This unit is led by a Lieutenant and under the Specialized Operations Bureau.
**Internal Affairs** - Responsible for the investigation of all inter-departmental issues. This division is led by a Lieutenant and is assigned under the Specialized Operations Bureau.

### 3: Policies
All employees are required to follow by these policies, failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
1 - Officers should always remain impartial
2 - Officers must uphold the laws at any time while on duty.
3 - Officers should never use excessive force.
4 - Officers must be mature in and out of uniform.
### 4: Disciplinary Actions
There are set rules you have to follow, in the instance you don't follow these rules you could be subject to disciplinary action. The rules you must follow are:
1 - Officers must not commit crime on duty
2 - Lying about patrol logs or investigations
3 - Aiding any criminals in the act
4 - Not following a superior's orders
5 - Dealing firearms that were issued by the department
6 - Involved in a gang/organization of any kind
7 - Distributing classified information
8 - Intentionally obstructing investigations
