# Zoom: Tips and Tricks
Many of us are using zoom for our classes and meetings. There are some useful features that could help you use zoom efficiently. In this tutorial I will be showing some tips and tricks that can help you master a zoom meeting.

## Setting name
Sometimes you might have noticed that the name displayed in Zoom is sometimes the name of your device or a random character combination. There is actually a way you can rename yourself so that others can easily recognise you. Here’s how you can do it:

### For those who doesn’t have any account
If you didn’t open a Zoom account, then this trick is for you. Follow the instructions below:
#### Android
1. Tap on the joining link. 
2. Select Zoom app and set it to always. 
3. After being redirected to the app, you will see a place to enter your name. Simply enter your name there and tap ok. 
4. If the host has enabled waiting room, then wait until you are allowed to join. After that, you will see a screen something like below. 
5. Remember, Zoom has 2 audio options, one is telephone and another is internet audio. Since in Bangladesh you can’t use telephone to join a meeting, you have to press, “Call via Device Audio” to enable internet audio. And also keep in mind that, if you don’t join audio, you won’t hear anything, neither will others. 

#### iOS
> I don’t have any iPhone to show a demo. But, the process is same as on the iPad.

1. Long press the link. 
2. Then tap “Open in Safari” from the Share Sheet option. You will be redirected to the zoom app. 
3. Then, you will see a place to set your name. By default on iOS, your device name will appear over there. You can Edit it. 
4. Tap continue after renaming. 
5. Next you will be in waiting room (if the host keeps it active), then you will enter the meeting. A thing to note, I saw that on iOS, join audio is on by default. So, no extra pressure. 

### For those who have an account
In Zoom, you get the ability to open a Zoom account in 3 ways, one with your email, another using your Facebook ID and finally with Google ID. Remember that opening account using Facebook and Google will import your name and profile pic from that source. So, you don’t have to set a name yourself. If you open account using email, they will ask for name during registration. That’s it...

## Renaming Yourself
Yes, Zoom offers you to rename yourself in a meeting. There are two ways you can do that. The process is same for both iOS and Android.
1. Go to the participants tab 
2. You will see your name on the top of the list. Tap it 
3. It will show you can option to ‘Rename’. Tap it, and set your name 

> A thing to remember. Hosts sometimes turns off the ‘Self Rename’ feature during a meeting. In that case, you have to follow the next way below...

The other way of renaming is only for those who have a Zoom account. Others, I’m sorry to say, you have to set name before entering a meeting.
1. Tap on (…) to access the more option. Note that on android you can’t minimise meeting. But there is a work around. (See step 2) 
2. You will see a ‘Minimise Meeting’ option. Tap it. For Android double tap back button.  
3. Now, go to settings of the Zoom app.  
4. Tap on your account  
5. From there, you will see a ‘Display name’ option. Tap it  
6. Then you can set your First name and Last Name. Finally tap save.
