# ACM Summer Camp 2021 ## Description A month long(summer vacations) event tentatively from 7th July to 6th(/1st) August where we will have daily(/biweekly) quizzes and weekend mini-hacks(/project submissions based on a given problem statement.) ## Website(ACM Store+ Platform for the Summer Camp) - A website where people will be taking the quiz + project submission. - On winning the quiz, the participant will get some credits(/**doge coins**) in their account. - These coins can be redeemed for either gift vouchers from affiliated companies/ t-shirts/ any other tangible item from the same. - Hackathon/Project submission points will obviously be higher than daily quizzes. - **Note** : The value of giftcards will be high enough **500/1000** so that people need to consistently work for getting the reward. ## Quiz Format - The quiz will be held on our own portal. - It should ideally be the first X people who submit the right answer will win to prevent plagiarism. - Since its daily top 5 sounds like a good idea. - Ideally all will get the same points say 50. ## Project Submission(/Hack Format) ### Project Submission(If we have money) - A project topic will be given, not very strict but shouldn't be open innovation. - People have a week's time to build and submit it. - We judge the submissions and **everyone who submits** will get some credits. Ideally range of points being **250-10** points. - **Negative Points** for plagiarism ### Mini hack - Weekend hack with a particular domain/problem statement. - Only top 3-5 get the prize. - Ideal Range of points - if 3 then **500, 350, 250** - if 5 then **500, 400, 300, 200, 100** ## Main Obstacles - Feasibility - Web Portal :slightly_smiling_face: - **Since the goal is outreach** quiz submission can also be taken on social handles via instagram stories though will become hectic for the team. - Acceptance by the team - Finance :slightly_smiling_face: - Good promotion both inside/outside ACM. ## Additional Features - Weekly lucky draw for free credits - Weekly mini gift cards small in number around 10 so that people who don't have enough credits can also participate. - Browine points for insta/twitter shares/restories(not very professional) ## Outcomes - Massive outreach - A good experience for the members. - Will also ease the process of a outer circle as planned tentatively. - Other outcomes which I couldn't think of at the moment. ### Note : `This is a very rough idea presentation of the idea.` ## Note : Original Idea by *Harsh Avinash(Management Junior)* Idea(s) Topics: ACM Contracts, ACM Credit, ACM credit store Need: To increase the outreach of ACM-VIT and to increase the inattentiveness. Overview: The best way to interact with someone is to do so using an incentive and there is no incentive bigger than money / shwag and a competition win said incentives. This project is a weekend interaction session where the audience interacts with the Ideas: ACM Credit: A form of online currency (Which is not like crypto currency but more like in-game currency), that can be used to purchase stuff only on the ACM Credit Store. ACM Credit Store: ACM Credit Store is a website/ app where participants can trade in ACM Credits for GiftCards/ Services/ Coupons and Shwag, this will also act a place for the participant to bank their ACM credits. How do you get ACM credits you might ask? I could only think up 2 ways to do so but there can be n-number of ways. 1. ACM organised Quizzes So these can be quizzes that are held on weekly bases using platforms such as Pro Profs(they might sponsor) and other options as listed here https://myelearningworld.com/top-10-free-online-quiz-makers-for-teachers-and-educators/ apps such as Instagram Twitter or Facebook will help to spread the word about the events. And as mentioned you get credits from the event so technically; we can give out more prizes to more people engaging the audience and make them come back for more. These Quizzes can make all of ACM's departments get involved as in a month each department can have their own quiz. 2. ACM Contracts ( I named it, it's not really a contract lol) ACM Contracts is a basically a 2-day low budget hackathon with high wins, so along with the quiz the department also has to come up with a problem statement and like any hackathon the department will conduct a code review and score the projects and like any other hackathon there will be prize winners, who's prize is none other than ACM Credits. Timeline: Problem statement releases Friday eventing Contract ends at Sunday afternoon before lunch, winner declared ASAP Few things I thought made sense. 1 ACM Credit = 12 rupees (approx valuation) ACM Credits are non-transferable between participants. Item store catalogue: Shwaggs: stickers, shirts whatnot. Coupons: 20% off on whatever we have Gift Card: Amazon giftcard, Xbox giftcard, Itunes giftcard Services like a year of Wolfram or KASpersky. Few more ideas Having a exclusive hackathon with entry fees as ACM Credits and other things. Having Zommato, swiggy, pizza hut giftcards are a killer idea.
