# EPF-5 | Week 1 Being the first week I discovered and experimented with some protocols to work on mostly being Lodestar consensys client and Prysm. Got the basic understanding of how the program works and had some really nice conversations with fellow developers. Having worked with EIPs before I found some of the Project proposal interesting and read about EIP 4881 and consensys Client. Took a lot of help from the Study Group Videos uploaded on You Tube about the consensus specs and architecture. ## Updates * I reviewed the project ideas and explored several of them in depth. Additionally, I examined the repositories from previous cohorts to identify both unimplemented and implemented projects. * I reserached on the specs, classes and architecture of consesnys clieNts and how EL and CL communicate and deep dived into CL using EPF Study Group YT videos. * I went through EIP 4881 implementation in Python and understood it deeply using developer interviews and some github example implementation of the same. * Some references https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-4881 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzQSVdTwAa0 https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/nodes-and-clients/ https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/136603/consensus-client-vs-execution-client https://hackmd.io/@danielrachi/engine_api https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqKjWYt6yWk&list=PLvu3JfoGPg5nt45MNYEuExw17pbH9MB3p&index=3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mb0LFJY8t0&list=PLvu3JfoGPg5nt45MNYEuExw17pbH9MB3p&index=7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ33bfGXzOc&list=PLvu3JfoGPg5nt45MNYEuExw17pbH9MB3p&index=11 ## Next Week Plan * I plan to implement EIP 4881 in typescript myself and test it. * Deep dive into Lodestar Consensys client and understant it mi=eticulously as EIPs integration becomes easier when the time comes. * I plan to get in touuch with the mentor for some guidance in integrating th EIP into lodestar and also undersatning lodestar deeply. I plan to remiain active on discord and stay in touch with mentor and make a project proposal by the end of this week with the required knowledge about Lodestar for integration in mind.
