## Break (10 mins)
## Long-term Feedback
Run through of the 2023 [feedback](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RL7QiutJdRp6LWC8-RHThryrgQRLiWqO9apdUjOEBbQ/edit?usp=drive_link).
There was a 27% response rate, i.e. 40 out of 149 students contacted.
No LTF sent for 4 courses due to complication in getting consent from anonymised STF. Issue is resolved with a new question seeking their consent to be contacted after the course in the application form.

*Would you recommend the training to other?*
28 = Yes, I already have.
12 = Yes, I would.
*Attending the training event led to/facilitated:*
Useful collaboration(s) with other participants/trainers from the training event
Publication of my work
Submission of a grant application
Qualification added to CV
Change in career
- [Richel] It seems there are no strong critical voices here, as all would recommend the training to others. Does this match the direct evaluations after individual courses (if any)?
- Yes, around 90-95% would recommend the course on the short-term feedback, so, yes, this matches
- On the other hand, there are no 2-4 learners responding 'no' here. Sure, the sample is small
- [Richel] 30% (i.e. 12 out of 40 respondents) responded to 'Do you feel that you are able to explain to others what you learnt in the training?' with a 'Maybe'. Isn't that remarkably much?
- The evaluation questions will be re-evaluated by ELIXIR
- Were there open questions?
- Yes
## Course description template
For the new course website each course need a description. What should be included?
What is the text limit? https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVNkHUxYU=/
- [Richel] For the description: recommend to answer the question 'Why would I follow this course?', recommend against discussing all micro-topics discussed. On the other hands, let course coordinater to decide freely
- It is good to have a template and modify freely.
- Does description need a template too? No
- Consider making clear if the course gives credits, as learners will ask by email otherwise
- Initially, I was critical on templates, but I found out that templates are useful
- Make sure not to conclude things that are different for each course instance, e.g. course fee
## GlittR
Is this resource relevant for NBIS, if so, in what way? https://glittr.org/?per_page=25&sort_by=stargazers&sort_direction=desc
- The Swiss ELIXIR is behind the website
- [Richel] It is Nice to be on that list. It is just one of many many lists. I feel it is not worth to enforce people to be on that list
- If Swiss ELIXIR scrapes automatically, then, great, no need to do more!
- It is nice to be on that list, that may be worth the effort
- Should it be an NBIS effort or a course leader effort?
- If NBIS effort, then all courses should be there
- It is nice to be on as many lists as possible by being scraped. We do need a license then
## AOB
- [Richel] I am doing a simple data collection [here](https://github.com/richelbilderbeek/teaching/tree/master/experiments/counts) for courses that are online and full-day. It now tentatively conclused that (1) most learners are present at 10:00 and 14:00 (i.e. 1 hour after start and lunch) and (2) learners are less likely to drop out after lunch when the amount of cameras before has been high. I consider to write a simple paper when having enough data. Maybe you'd enjoy to supply data too (`time,n_cam_on,n_cam_off`) and/or join the writing? If yes, let me know after this meeting
- Perhaps we should provide a data visualisation course with emphasis on Bioinformatics results...?
- We do have a data visualisation course, that uses on R
- It is [here](https://github.com/NBISweden/workshop-data-visualization-r)
- Yay!
