A Model can have many sketches, and many components
Each component can have sketches, extrudes
Shortcuts
Create new component for sketching
Sketch on face or plane
Rightclick master - new component
Component - active - dot at side
S - Model Toolbox (dependant on current state)
more on use of the toolbox
Q - Press pull, extrude or remove material
extent - offset cut from bottom (parametric modeling)

insketch
C - circle in sketch
D - dimension
snap to center of circle in new sketch
extent - to face (parametric modeling)

Spur Gears generator by script
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZakT54JIhB8
Addins - spur gear
Module of gear - ratio of teeth to diameter, gears need to have to same module to mesh
New component - at assemble button
Capture Position - fix other components
sketch - draw line then add constraints, eg tangent
as built_in_joint - select gear and base, select axis, select revolute, same for other gear
rightclick base, click Ground (fix in space)

convert entities in sketch - just select all lines from other body, rightclick - extrude

rightclick - capture design history
ground main component
rigid group - several bodies
select model first - model that you want to
fusion limits all freedoms, then release as needed
select component to move, eg axis to axis
select points
slider / revolute
able to right click joint - edit joint limit
motion joint - select two joints
select - uncheck bodies, do not select bodies, select only components
hold CTRL while selecting face to stay within all joint points
joint - joint origin to create one, able to rotate/translate
joint origin - reorient - can orient to face
if dragged outside model in- rightclick, break link
if not able to use rigid, use sliding joint
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBJMgkzkaas
when new model is started, it is a component
create component from body - will create a component,
active components
as built joint for parts that were drawn referenced to each other
inserting assembly to another file can be bit more complicated - go to website
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQg0tfrhvbw
mistakes with fusion
always fully define sketch
add version description for each save
changing any view to top view - right click view at top
version control - promote previous version to most recent
move toolbars to edges, greenline snap into space
rightclick - share public link
usage of 3d contours for cam
control shift S - save without new version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9dcWtefQ7E
components vs bodies
overview to fusion
component can be joint
bodies cannot be joint
create components first for all action histories to be saved
body to component wont save action history, starts a new history
