# Space law proposal System is pretty simple. There are four crime severity levels; if you get arrested, your incarceration time is based on the *highest* severity crime committed. Times do not add together, three crimes of the same level are treated as one crime of the level above. Times are given as ranges, arresting officer has discretion within that, subject to Warden, HoS, (acting) Captain in that order. - Minor - Brigtime up to 2 minutes. - Moderate - Brigtime 2-5 minutes. - Major - Brigtime 5-10 minutes. - Capital - Permabrig, or with (acting) Captain approval, execution. Minor crimes: - - Resisting Arrest (nothing aggressive, only when paired with another crime) - Possession of drugs (we could drop this one) - Indecent Exposure (and this one) - Vandalism (breaking windows, tables, cosmetic damage, not crayons) - Trespass (and not leaving when asked) - Petty Theft - Minor Assault (unarmed or unthreatening weapon) Moderate crimes: - - Theft (stolen things with utility/value) - Breaking & Entry - Distribution of drugs (we can drop this one) - Insubordination (may include demotion) - Obstruction of justice (disarm spamming sec, pulling away detainees, etc) - Manslaughter (murder but the corpse is easily cloned) - Possession of unauthorised weapons (batons, guns, explosives, without permission) - Sabotage (disabling power to an area intentionally, walling the brig, etc) - Elevated Trespass - Assault w/ deadly weapon - Minor Assault of officer/head Major crimes: - - Assault of officer/head w/ deadly weapon - Murder (attempts made to prevent cloning, successful or otherwise) Capital crimes: - - Mutiny (attacking Captain, attempting to overthrow Captain) - Grand Sabotage (leading to potential deaths; plasmaflood, singuloose) - Grand Theft - Enemy of Corp These laws are explicitly in-character and intended for enforcement ingame through chain of command and not intended to be part of the server rules, nor is breaking them intended to be punishable. Griefing as sec is punishable in the same way it would be as non-sec, even if less leeway is given. Arrest guidelines are seperate, idk if they should be enforced as part of space law, or as part of server rules, but in any case bucklecuffing should be discouraged.
