I am applying for the Software Developer (Web/Backend) position at Meela Health. Making the process of finding a suitable therapist easier and more efficient lowers the barrier for people to get the help they need and I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to this service!

Coming from a background in teaching (chemistry and art), I made a successful career change into software development in 2019. On the job I learned Rust and started working on client projects within six months. In the last two years, the focus of my work was producing training materials for Rust, leading the growing training department, and coaching new trainers. I want to shift my focus to writing software again.

My proficiency lies primarily in writing Rust. I am eager to broaden my frontend skills, developing towards a full stack role. My experience in teaching has helped me understand how to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse audiences, putting myself in their shoes and building solutions to meet their needs. From my background in art I bring a sensibility for visual design in layout, composition, color theory, and a keen eye for detail.

I am used to working in a distributed team and have often led the initiative to making communication and collaboration more effective both on a team and organisational level. I am eager to bring my perspective and experiences to Meela Health’s team and contribute to its growth and success.

I am currently living in Berlin, Germany. For the time being I would like to work remotely from here and travel to Gothenburg from time to time to see the team.
