# **Removing Internal Links**

**The task is to remove internal links from IndianaJo's blog posts.**

### ℹ️ **INSTRUCTIONS**:
### **Step 1:**
**Jo will share a link to a spreadsheet with six columns.**
**Column A: Link to IndianaJo’s blog post**
**Column B: Links to Remove**
**Column C: Left Context - Words on the Left Side of the Anchor**
**Column D: Anchor Text - Words or Phrases Linked**
**Column E: Right Context - Words on the Right Side of the Anchor**
**Column F: Status**

### **Step 2:**
**To edit IndianaJo’s blog post, log in to WordPress using the login details provided in the EOM task and Logins under Emily’s profile in Chrome.**

### **Step 3:**
**Copy the link in Column A of the spreadsheet and open it in a new tab. Since you are already logged in to WordPress, you should see the option to edit the post.**

### **Step 4:**
**Locate the anchor text from the blog post. Anchor text are highlighted with a distinctive color.
Example Anchor Text: "major port on the silk route"**

### **Step 5:**
**To remove the link, click on the anchor text, then use the unlink button to detach the link. Afterward, click the bold button to unbold the text.**

### **Note:**
**If the anchor text is the whole link within a "related posts/articles" section, you can remove the link by deleting the full anchor text.**

### **Step 6:**
**To complete the process, click on “Don’t update the modified date” to prevent the modified date from appearing on the blog post. Then, to save the changes, click on “Update.”**
