# Burrell (BR)

BR is a towering, broad-shouldered male purple tabby tom with a massive build and piercing violet eyes. A deep scar runs across his mouth. He is suspected to have Maine Coon lineage, and holds an unshakable loyalty to [Lon](#Lon).

BR holds the second-highest position of power within the family and willingly serves as Lon’s blade. He known for his crude demeanor, sharp tongue, and blunt honesty. His sheer size alone makes him a figure of fear within the family—few dare to challenge him directly. When provoked into combat or bloodshed, BR enters a state of temporary frenzy, often losing rational control. In such moments, only Lon has consistently been able to calm him. The combination of Lon’s commanding authority and BR’s terrifying strength has rendered their faction nearly untouchable in the region, a force few families dare to provoke.
BR often takes on the tasks that would stain Lon’s paws with blood, and he looks forward to each assignment—knowing it gives him another chance to unleash his strength. He is also the only cat in the family who dares to joke with Lon, and Lon rarely minds.
Although BR currently serves as Underboss, he has no blood relation to Lon.
Born an orphan in another city, BR grew up with an enormous frame and overwhelming power. As a kit, he killed another in a quarrel. Consumed by guilt, he fled his homeland and wandered into adulthood alone, convinced he was a monster. He deliberately starved himself down to skin and bones, isolating himself from others.
His life changed when he fought off two attackers to protect Lon’s kit Aie, who had slipped away from the territory to play. Impressed by his strength and resolve, Lon invited him into the family. BR joined as a Claw, but soon after, he clashed with a corrupt Clawhead who posed a threat to Lon. In a brutal fight, BR killed the traitor—earning both his scar and Lon’s trust. He was then promoted to Clawhead, replacing the one he had slain.
From that point forward, BR began to accept his strength, though it continued to drive him toward violence and bloodlust. Even so, he remains one of the few who truly understands and protects Lon.
BR also played a constant role in the upbringing of Aie and Rue, watching over them with quiet protectiveness. After their murder by Lorcan, Lon stood in the rain before their grave and told BR, “I want you to be Underboss. Aie and Rue would’ve wanted it to be you.” In that moment of grief, BR was promoted.

A black she-cat with long, curly fur around her neck and tail, exuding elegance and poise. She has striking blue eyes and a small beauty mark beside her left eye. As she has aged, a few strands of gray hair have appeared on her face.
Laila is [Lon](#Lon)’s contracted mate, respectfully addressed as “Madam.” Their relationship is purely formal, with no romantic foundation, yet the two maintain the appearance of a mate in front of others. She is also responsible for preventing cats who are drawn to the boss, whether out of attraction or in an attempt to gain favor to improve their standing—from approaching Lon. Laila ensures such disturbances are kept at bay.
Laila, originally from another family (now known as the Vick’s Family), was the youngest daughter of her siblings. Her union with Lon was a contract-based mate alliance arranged by their respective bosses—[Rum](#Rum) and Laila’s father. After the arrangement, she pledged loyalty to Lon’s family.
Laila bore two children with Lon, Aie and Rue, though she was not heavily involved in their upbringing or education. After the children were murdered by [Lorcan](https://hackmd.io/@Maltose/H1Qgi-RFee#Lorcan) and Lon fell gravely ill from the emotional blow, Laila took on the responsibility of maintaining the family’s operations during his recovery.
Later, she accompanied Lon to visit the Vick Family, secretly discussing a plan to overthrow Lorcan. Out of kinship with Laila and his fear of Lorcan, Vick agreed to cooperate with Lon in this conspiracy.

Many moons ago, humans threw her into a washing machine filled with bleach. The chemicals festered her eyes, leaving her blind, while the scraping drum tore away patches of fur that never grew back. The scars remain as brutal reminders of her ordeal.
Yet Moya survived. Through years of training, she honed her hearing, sense of smell, and agility to extraordinary levels. She knows every corner of the family’s territory by heart and has become a deadly fighter despite her blindness. Deep within, she still harbors an unyielding hatred for humans.

Den, more commonly called by his nickname “Denny” by other cats, is a blue-gray tom with dark spots and blue eyes, marked with tear-like patterns beneath them. His tail is messy, and his left ear bears a permanent notch—a scar left by Curly.
Denny was taken in by Lon shortly after birth and raised within the family. Though officially Lon’s adopted son in name, Denny grew up timid and lacking in confidence. This may stem from the trauma of witnessing his mother’s death as a kit, even though he no longer remembers the scene. He suffers from a severe stutter that worsens under stress, causing some cats to dismiss him as weak or unfit.
Despite being raised by Lon, Denny often felt out of place. He saw Lon as distant, unreadable, and impossibly strong—everything he himself was not. Though he admired Lon, he also envied and quietly resented him, believing he could never live up to the image expected of him.
In this state of inner conflict, Denny fell under Curly’s manipulation.
Curly convinced Denny that his biological father, Lorcan, had died unjustly, painting Lon as a cold usurper who had stolen everything. Denny, already burdened by resentment and self-doubt, began to believe him. Though a part of him remained uncertain, he clung to Curly’s version of the truth—perhaps out of longing, perhaps out of pain.
What Denny never knew was the full truth. Lorcan’s crime against the family—the murder of Lon’s children—had become a forbidden topic. No one dared reopen that wound, and Lon, more than anyone, refused to let others speak of the memory that hurt him most. In that silence, Curly’s lies took root.
Curly persuaded Denny to take part in a plot to murder Lon and seize power. Denny lacked the courage to resist, and for a time, he truly believed he was doing what was right.
It wasn’t until he met a kind she-cat named Maltose that the illusion began to crack. Her presence gave him the clarity and strength to abandon Curly’s scheme.
Curly, enraged by the betrayal, attacked Denny and slashed his left ear—leaving behind the notch that would mark him for life.

Rum is a medium-built gray tom with yellow eyes. His body is covered in old scars.

His body and face bear several scars, remnants of the brutal training he endured under their father, a Sphynx tom who believed in forging strength through suffering—a belief fully shared by their mother. Rum, though not physically dominant, embraced the cruelty as a path to worthiness. He earned their father’s favor through endurance and obedience, eventually being named Underboss.
In contrast, Lorcan grew resentful and eventually abandoned the family. Rum considered this a betrayal and a personal failure. After Lorcan’s departure, Rum took as his mate a she-cat who had once been close to Lorcan. Their union produced Lon—though Rum never knew that Lon’s true biological father was Lorcan.
Determined to replicate his father’s methods, Rum raised Lon with the same severity he once endured. He sought to mold Lon into a successor—disciplined, detached, and unbreakable. But Lon resisted, showing no desire to become Boss. This divergence left Rum frustrated, though he never ceased trying to shape Lon into what he believed was necessary for survival.
Rum’s final confrontation with Lorcan occurred near a roadside, where a brutal fight ended in tragedy. A speeding vehicle struck them both; Lorcan survived with the loss of one eye, while Rum was killed instantly. His death forced Lon—only a year and a half old—to grow up prematurely and shoulder the weight of leadership far beyond his age.
Years later, after the murder of Lon’s childrent and the LonCan War, Lon would finally embrace Rum’s philosophy in full—yet not merely as Rum had envisioned it. He surpassed it. Lon became colder, more unreadable, and more emotionally sealed than even Rum had imagined possible. Though absent, Rum’s teachings lingered—etched into Lon’s silence, his restraint, and the way he never smiled again.
