Far off in the sea was a large rock. This rock was the turning point. The ships were rushing to the turning point. The Regnensis ship, which Dumnorix was steering, suddenly turned to the right. "Look!", said Dumnorix."It is dangerous for us to sail around the rock, because of the reef that lies hidden under the wave. It is necessary for us to avoid the reef." Bellimicus however, who did not know about the reef, was holding a straight course for the rock. "Friend", he said. "We can win, because Dumnorix is turning away to the right. These Regnenses are scared; it is easy for us to win, because we are stronger." The Cantican sailors were trusting Bellemicus. Soon they overcamethe Regnensem ship and approached the front of the turning point. Belimicus, who did not see the reef, was mocking Dumnorix. Suddenly, tthe Cantican ship ran into the reef. The sailors were shouting, terrified; water was filling the ship. Bellemicus and the Canticans couldn't do anything; the ship was soon sinking. Meanwhile Dumnorix, who was navigating with the greatest care, steered the shhip around the turning point. The ship arrived safe at the seashore. Many spectators praised Dumnorix. The Regnensens were happy, the Canticans were sad. Then all eyes turned to the sea. It was difficult for them to see the sailors, because they were swimming in the waves. All however were able to see Bellemicus, because he was sitting on the top of the rock. He was sunk through, clinging to the rock, and was demanding for help.
