# About MISAT

Medical Image Standards Association of Taiwan (MISAT) was established in 2003. The association aims to develop standards for the storage, exchange and transmission of medical image information based on research, improve the standard level of medical information, strengthen the exchange of international medical information, and aim for national electronic medical records, the filmless imaging environment the application of electronic signatures in healthcare, and the promotion of cross-hospital exchange of EMR as our main tasks.

In more detail, the mission of the Association is as follows:
1. Represent Taiwan in the International Organization for Medical Imaging Information.
2. To hold lectures and seminars on medical imaging information.
3. Publish journal related to medical imaging information.
4. Provide continuing education and training on medical imaging information.
5. Contact and exchange of academic and information related to members or medical imaging information at home and abroad.
6. Accept the agency's entrustment to provide research and consulting services for the establishment of a medical imaging information development system.
7. Collection and arrangement of medical imaging information literature.
8. Other matters related to the development of medical imaging information.

With the efforts of the Association, also experts and scholars from all fields, the chinese codeable method used in Taiwan, was officially incorporated into the existing international DICOM standard in March 2003. In response to the advent of the digital era of hospital information, to promote the development and implementation of DICOM standards in my country, to facilitate the exchange of information and the inheritance of experience in production, government, education and medicine. The association also actively invites domestic and foreign experts and scholars to discuss or provide short courses on DICOM specifications and related topics, with expectation MISAT can play an important role in the promotion of this medical information standard. The mission of the association requires the help of relevant units from all fields to be effectively achieved. We welcome all sectors of society to join this association and make a contribution to Taiwan's medical environment.
