# MIP41c4-SP42: Protocol Engineering Facilitator Onboarding (PECU-001)

- This is a valid Facilitator onboarding subproposal under the [currently approved governance process](https://mips.makerdao.com/mips/details/MIP41#MIP41c4).
- If [MIP4c2-SP34](https://forum.makerdao.com/t/mip4c2-sp34-expand-facilitator-definition-to-allow-entities/19736) passes, then this proposal onboards Prototech Labs as Facilitator of the Protocol Engineering Core Unit (PECU). Prototech Labs will be represented by @Derek.
- If [MIP4c2-SP34](https://forum.makerdao.com/t/mip4c2-sp34-expand-facilitator-definition-to-allow-entities/19736) fails, then there will be an open position for PECU facilitation after a three-month handover period.
- This MIP is intended to pass in conjunction with [MIP41c5-SP15](https://forum.makerdao.com/t/mip41c5-sp15-facilitator-offboarding-derek-pecu-001/19749) which offboards the current facilitator.
- This proposal has been assigned `High-Impact` based on the methodology listed [here](https://forum.makerdao.com/t/introducing-impact-estimations/14267).
