# Know Your MIP KYM#17 | MIP93: Utilizing Hats Protocol


For the Know Your MIP series' 17th session, we will be walking through [MIP93: Utilizing Hats Protocol](https://forum.makerdao.com/t/mip93-utilizing-hats-protocol/19088). This is a proposal by @prose11 for utilizing the Hats Protocol; a Protocol that allows for real-time, on-chain, verifiable roles to be maintained throughout the Maker Protocol.

This MIP will enter the Frozen Period on December 28th and, if formally submitted, it will enter the January Governance Cycle.
