--- tags: Summaries --- # [SIGNAL REQUEST] Budget Re-allocation & Core Unit Accountability Framework The following is GovAlpha's summary of this Signal Request: * This is a valid Signal Request * Multiple options are presented; voters should select **all** options they support. * Any option which receives > 50% of non-abstain votes will proceed on-chain. * Any on-chain vote will include "No" or "Reject option(s)" as a voting option. * If more than one option receives > 50% of non-abstain votes, the on-chain poll will be an Instant Runoff Vote. * This proposal has been given a "Medium Impact" rating as it does not make changes in isolation but will instead lead to future proposals if there is a positive outcome on-chain. * If the Signal Request is successful, it will proceed on-chain on 2022-08-01. The on-chain poll will last for 3 days. ### Discussion This Signal Request asks the community whether they would prefer Core Unit budgets to be subject to a broad-based cut (i.e. a flat % cut to all budgets) or a tactical re-allocation process. A broad-based cut will decrease all CU budgets equally. The % value of a broad-based cut is not specified in this proposal. The tactical reallocation process is outlined above. It seeks to achieve consensus between CUs, delegates, and MKR holders through a developed framework that will propose KPIs for CUs while taking a holistic view of the DAO's expenses.
