# Inverse Reagents : Narcotics + Other Reagents Part 1
## Abstract
This is the second Inverse-related PR I've made, here are callback links to my other documents if desired:
Superior Healing Medications : https://hackmd.io/@MGO/r1idU4cza
Ever since Fermichem was merged in 2021 and modified in 2022 to remove impurities, inverse reagents have remained. They serve to provide alternative effects for the maker, and reward the maker when they utilize the pH of the reaction properly (or improperly, technically). However, **many chemical products still do not have an associative inverse reagent to go along with their formula.** It's quite a shame too, as more unique inverse reagents can provide new methods of experimentation. Whether it be through combat, healing, or general purposes, these interactions can broaden the options the average chemist has for the crew.
Since inverse reagents are still around, the main goal of these changes is **assign more unique inverse reagents to chemical products that require at least some work to make.**
## Goals
* To add more unique inverse reagents.
* To replace generic inverse reagent output from modified reactions.
* To promote closer attention to pH to prevent unintentional failed reactions.
* To provide chemists more options to interact with themselves, the crew, and against threats.
### Elaboration
This is an effort to add more variety to the existing inverse reagent system within chemistry. Not only should this variety serve to provide additional options for a Chemist to experiment with, they should also broaden the possibilities for already existing strategies. Reagents are not confined to the laws of realism in the game, however loosely tying what the reagent does in real life will serve to provide it more unique functionality. That way, any newer inverse reagents do not necessarily have to follow the "chemical but inverse" direction of some older inverse reagents.
#### The following reagents WILL NOT be receiving a corresponding inverse reagent:
Nicotine, Mushroom Hallucinogen : Can't be made by chemistry.
Pump-Up, Maintenance (Tar, Sludge, Powder) : These chemicals are niche enough and don't need further complexity.
Methamphetamine: Creation method leaves little room for inverses to form within a reasonable percentage. Focus on not blowing yourself up first!
#### The following reagents WILL receive an inverse in a later update:
Kronkaine, Blastoff, SaturnX : Associated reaction creates a physical item containing the reagent instead of the reagent itself. These reactions are instant and don't care for purity. The creation method for these drugs must be refactored which is out of the current scope of this PR.
## Content
#### I am willing to listen to feedback as well as changing the values or the functionality of the new inverse reagents I present.
### Naloxone
Medicine Reagent
Description : Opioid antagonist that purges drowsiness and narcotics from the patient, restores breath loss and accelerates addiction recovery.
Consumption Rate : 0.2u/tick
Inverse Chem % : 30%
pH : 4
Purges opioid-class reagents (Morphine, Impedrezene, Fentanyl, Krokodil and Permonid) at 3u per tick. Can restore breath loss and stave off drowsiness, but cannot heal oxygen damage on its own. Users with addictions will recover from them faster while they have this reagent in their system. Patients who have had their high removed via this medication will receive a negative moodlet of equal strength. Can be applied through touch and vapor.
### Permonid
Normal : Krokodil
Description : Highly potent sedative that provides the best painkilling effects, but is also extremely addictive. Speeds up surgery times by 30%.
Consumption Rate : 0.1u/tick
OD Threshold : 20u
Inverse Chem % : 25%
pH : 2.5
Gives the user analgesia while increasing surgery speeds by 30% when in the bloodstream. Very addictive at 30 points, so caution must be exercised.
If overdosed, the user experiences jittering, dizziness, and drooling. The user also receives systemic numbness, where their limbs will randomly give out during this process.
### Monkey Dust
Normal : Bath Salts
Description : Oop aak chee aak eek chee. Eek aak oop chee oop aak aak!!
Consumption Rate : 0.2u/tick
Inverse Chem % : 30%
pH : 14
Infuses monkies with the power of the Jungle Fever!
Consumption enrages monkies through giving them the Feral Instincts trauma. Monkey attacks also become more savage while providing an immunity to sleeps and stuns. Deals 5 brain damage per tick and will make the user fall asleep for 30 seconds on end consumption. If combined with Monkey Energy, brain damage is increased to 10 per tick. Monkies will have access to three special unarmed moves while affected, some of which depend on if they have their tail or not.
If combined with Bath Salts, reagent will purge itself immediately. Adding 10u of this reagent into Monkey Powder instead of 1u Water will create an angry monkey! Non-monkies will only exhibit monkey-like behavior, occasionally scratching themselves, jumping and screeching.
### Epoetin Alfa
Normal : Aranesp
Description : Synthetic medication that induces blood regeneration, heals liver damage and clots wounds efficiently in patients. Causes several side effects if taken for too long.
Consumption Rate : 0.25u/tick
OD Threshold : 20u
Inverse Chem % : 50%
pH : 6.1
Heals 1 liver damage per tick. When blood levels are below 100%, restores around 5u of blood. If the user is actively bleeding, it synthesizes Sanguirite in the blood. Sustained usage will result in progressively worse cluster migraines. These migraines will initally make the user clutch their head in pain, causing visual issues. Continued usage of the chem will result in accumulation of Histamine in their bloodstream, breath loss and absence seizures.
On overdose, all beneficial effects are haulted and the user experiences the worst negative effects of the reagent.
### Sadness
Normal : Happiness
Description : Causes severe depressive behavior in users, and actively purges other antidepressants.
Consumption Rate : 0.1u/tick
Inverse Chem % : 40%
pH : 12
Imposes an extreme sanity and mood modifier that instantly depresses the user's spirits. If sanity is fully lowered with the reagent, the user becomes drowsy, moves even slower and will become a nihilistic, sobbing mess. Purges Psicodine and Happiness at a rate of 5u. Can be applied through touch and vapor. Being hugged by a friendly person that gives good hugs will purge all Sadness unless the user has the Bad Touch trait.
### Maldium
Normal : Baldium
Description : Potent psychotropic that causes intense anger within users.
Consumption Rate : 0.4u/tick
Inverse Chem % : 30%
pH : 1
On initial consumption, the user inhales sharply and begins emitting steam from their head. After 5 tics, the user will then scream violently, creating a shockwave that flings nearby objects and persons away. The user will also glow red during consumption, create steam from their head and will express themselves ANGRILY!! On end consumption, user will experience a burst of burn damage that scales with the amount of time the user was enraged. Users who are pacifists will not cause the initial shockwave.
Consuming salt will purge both Maldium and a lesser quantity of the salt.
### Dulling Reagent
Normal : Colorful Reagent
Description : Extremely drab coloring pigment that is favored by corporations who wish to maximize suffering.
Consumption Rate : 0.4u/tick
OD Threshold : 50u
Inverse Chem % : 30%
pH : 10
On application, recolors everything into assorted grayscale colors. Forces Colorblindness trauma in consumers.
Overdose lowers the consumption rate of the reagent to 0.04u per tick.
### Newtonium
Normal : Gravitum
Description : Experimental reagent that induces heavy gravokinetic effects on users.
Consumption Rate : 1u/tick
OD Threshold : 30u
Inverse Chem % : 30%
pH : 2.3
When metabolized, users will suddenly be affected by a heavy gravokinetic force. The force applied is similar to standing next to a gravity generator. The user's legs will suffer worsening physical wounds for every 10 ticks of application, maximizing at compound fractures within 30 ticks.
Overdose immediately adds bleeding wounds to the user's legs and squishes them like a vending machine!
