# How to switch the photos in Figma? This guide will show you how you can swap the photos easily using templates prepared by Klad. **Difficulty:** 1/10 **Process time:** 1-2 min ## 1. Resize the photo Before you do some actual resizing, sometimes you might want to crop out some of the photo blank space, this can be done by selecting image and then clicking crop icon in the top bar. Once enabled, drag the borders to crop out blanks space. ![](https://i.imgur.com/nBVB46M.png) This can be done by selecting the photo you want to insert and then dragging the border of the photo with the cursor and holding "Shift". ![](https://i.imgur.com/NV45p0J.png) Alternatively, you can do in the right panel, in the "Design" tab. For this, click an icon to the right from height parameter (this will constrain the proportions of the selected element), and then change the numbers in the width or height tab. ![](https://i.imgur.com/wFZDSTg.png) ## 2. Copy the template Do not make changes in the original template, we keep it as a source file. You can copy the template you need by simply hitting your most beloved shortcuts ctrl+C and ctrl+v. ## 3. Swap the photos Here comes the hardest part, but you will manage. Select the copy of the template and go to the left bar. ![](https://i.imgur.com/gYVQSKF.png) Here you will need to find layer with the photo, when you hover over the elements in the left bar, Figma will show the selection on canvas as well. Alternatively, you can hold "Ctrl" and click on the needed item, you can double-check the selection in the left bar. ![](https://i.imgur.com/5GI2rCj.png) Now you just need to drag and drop the photo that you need in **the left bar** to the same location as the default photo (in the tempalte default photos are named "guest-photo"). This will screw your template for a while but do not worry about it, because the only thing remains is deleting the default photo in the left bar. ![](https://i.imgur.com/S3ds7Zh.png) And you are done! Good job!
