# Nouns Esports EVO Japan 2024 Prophouse Round

## Overview

#### We at Nouns Esports have been looking into furthering our reach into the fighting game community from just Smash into traditional fighting games such as *Street Fighter 6* and *Tekken 8*. We have already delved a little into this world by sponsoring the Japanese player ITK to go to EVO 2023 and we are looking to start the year off strong by supporting a wide variety of players who want to go to EVO Japan 2024 in exchange for presence at the event.

#### By doing this, the hope is to show the global reach that Nouns Esports has while building repetoire with the eastern community, especially the Nouns Japan and Pnouns community. This would also be a great opportunity to look for Japanese players for future projects, namely Japanese players to support for other majors overseas through a partnership with Lil' Nouns. Furthermore, this would also help us to establish ourselves with the Japanese community of organizers and be a great first step to trying to run a tournament series up in Japan which would allow us to show the multitude of ways that we support builders within Esports while expanding the reach and message of Nouns Esports to even more audiences.

An outline of the specs of the project

##### We are looking to use our given budget to sponsor 2 international players and a variety of domestic players to participate in EVO Japan. This aims to compensate players in full during the weekend they are there. Any time other than the weekend of EVO Japan will be that player's responsibility financially. We are looking to cover travel and entry expenses incurred by overseas players and entrance fees for domestic players. While it is not required, we encourage showing Nounish spirit when participating by sharing with people either your participation or the prophouse round. The aim of sharing this participation is to raise awareness to our system and try to get more of the community interested in going on chain and interacting with our prophouse system or our community at large (hopefully both). The more creative and clear-cut it is, the more we will take notice as we value effort and creativity. Furthermore, getting to know our community members and who you are will allow us to better assess your nounish qualities. This can be done simply by interacting with our community, namely though our weekly calls on discord in our Nouns Esports discord. If you are in doubt on how what to advertise, feel free to consult with the Nouns FGC team and we will be happy to brainstorm ideas to help with content.

##### Voting will be broken into two parts with one part being for international players and one for domestic players. The vote will be done towards the end of the submission date for respective prophouses and will be decided by the contributors of the Nouns Esports community who possess a voting token. Results will be final unless some unforeseen circumstance arises that greatly affects the integrity of voting. (This section is still in theory and needs confirmation about whether or not this would be a feasible option financially)

##### Those selected for the international player rounds will recieve travel compensation plus gear to wear to represent our brand at the event. This includes a jersey, noggles, and a care package of other items. For those that pass the second prophouses oriented for all competitors, we would provide event entry cost and merch. For those travelling domestically we will also have a separate prophouse open to apply for travel costs. We expect players to wear this at the event. The degree of which it must be worn can always be discussed, but we suggest wearing it as much as possible. We are also ok with sponsoring players who are already with a different org who may also be required to wear that org's merchandise. However, we ask that you still wear some of our Nouns merchandise visibly.

##### If a compromise cannot be reached on the terms above and the player who was chosen decides to withdraw, we will proceed to move with the player with the next highest number of votes. At this point the player who rescinds from the offer will not be elegible to re-enter, so we encourage that the player is sure of their choice to rescind the offer before doing so.

## Expected Return from Players

##### We expect a few things out of the players in return for being awarded by our prop house. These are that the players:

##### 1. Bring their nounish spirit to the event and represent what we stand for at all times

##### 2. Proof of costs to ensure funds are being properly allocated

##### 3. Represent us visually by wearing items from the merchandise we send or other official Nouns merchandise that may have been purchased by the player beforehand or after being awarded

##### 4. Active participation in sharing key event posts and creating content with Nouns Esports (most likely relegated to posts with the chance of video content) centered around attendance to the event

##### 5. Promoting to other players the benefits of being onchain, focusing on the benefits of prophouse as well as upcoming projects that would be relevant to them (i.e. the EVO Vegas invasion prophouse or the weekly game nights with chances to get tokens to enter a raffle for merch)

##### 6. Aiming to do your best, have a good time, and make connections :smiley:

##### (There may be a 7th, which is promoting a limited time token we may try to mint to show that people interacted with our sponsored members. However, this is currently not set in stone although we will be aiming to do this in the future when we figure out the right way to give an incentive to participants signing up that will get more and more people interested in creating free wallets)

##### In the event that there may be some restrictions or other situation that may limit the players ability to perform some tasks, feel free to consult with Keolaization of the Nouns Esports Contributor team and we will see what we can do to try and make it work for both parties.
