# Detox Story ## Rough draft 150 years ago a war ravaged these lands. The faeries were locked in a fierce battle against [TBD]. The war lasted an exhausting 25 years before the war was won. One faerie warrior [Add name] never wanted to be a warrior so they would sneak off when they had a chance and rest at the Tree of Life. They would sit and read a magical history book they found during one of the battles in an underground library. Every day they would sneak away and read about what it used to be like in [name of world or city] and imagine what it was like to be back in what they believed to be simpler times. One dreary day towards the end of the 25 year war, the faeries had a brutal battle to fight during a raging thunder storm. The ground was slick with mud and no one could see more than a few feet ahead of themselves. Many faeries were lost in this battle, our [user name] being one of them. No one knows exactly what happened that day, and it has since been erased from any history books. What our young faerie [user name] didn't know, though, was that the night before that battle they left the magic history book by the tree of life. By itself, its completely harmless. But, a hundred years later another faerie whose heart was full of evil and whose intentions were to cause chaos found the book. It had become partially fused with the Tree of Life. Seeing it buried in the tree gave this fairy an idea. He would cast a spell that would cause chaos in the world and wreak havoc. So he cast his spell and the book started to wreck chaos across the world. The chaos was subtle at first, normally gentle plants turned hostile, the water darkened and turned a muddy brown. Eventualy something changed and the [find new name for plant eaters] ~~Plant Eaters~~ started to chomp at fairies and other forest cretures while the bellplants started to release a spore. The spore made the forest creatures very sick and caused the plants to change colors and turn even more hostile. Eventually these spores would spread and more plants and animals would spread them faster. It would become known as 'The Corruption'. Now, 25 years after the spell was cast, most faeries and elves stay inside to try to avoid the corruption.
