--- tags: DnD --- # Deadbeats and Dipshits - Group 2 Session 1 (27/12/2019) - (Howizter Left Half Way) -------------------------------------------------- We start on the Continent of Erastil. Queensdale is the King's land. The Northern Cities are an anarchist state currently. The king has been unsucessful with taking them back through ground combat thus far. Magic being used without a license is illegal. We are all in a group cell. There is a group cell with 6 people, one chatting loudly and not willing to talk except the talkative dwarf. There's a man in silverclad armor at a desk in the back and 2 guards at the entrance of the hallway. We are all in cloth tunics, with no gear. There's a dwarf named Bale Avarn bragging about punching the magistrates repeatedly and being thrown into jail. The jail guards come back with an old Wizard and another possible magic user with blue robes that have a silver lining. We overhear that the main jail guard is Valduun. We recognize the magistrate of the Order of Justice in the blue robes. They seem to have a task to give. The cell of Bale and 2 men is open to do a dangerous job for the king. Bale shrieks about not doing anything for the crazed king. The Paladin from the jail stabs him in the back. They take the 5 other prisoners with them and drag out Bale's body. 18 hours pass, and the Wizard and Magistrate say they all failed. We are volunteered. There's a Dwarvish sancturary we need to retrieve some items from. A few ours later, we are escorted to the docks, board a boat, and head south into the islands south of Queensdale. We reach a camp with Magistrates at them, and there is a cracked open Dwarvish Sanctuary. The island is heavily wooded. We need to get an artifact (not told what it is to us). If we get the artifact we get our freedom. We get our gear back. The party enters and sees 6 large dwarven statues. We all grab torches, there is a closed door across the room. Half way through the room are 2 dead prisoners that seem to be magically dead, with no weapons or wounds. Drogard sees a loose brick on the wall, and pulls it out of the wall. There is a lever down the hall, Glint pulls the lever and the wall raises and moves to the right. A doorway appears and there is a round room. There are 3 more dead prisoners. There is a lever in the centre of the room. The body is scredded and stabbed. Pull the lever and a new door opens. The room moves down like a elevator. There are 2 large metal dwarf statues in the hall that has opened. Start shooting steam and start moving and raising their axes and shields. We kill both dwarven constructs, one falls on the Minotaur incapacitating him. Celia pulls Drogard out from under the construct. Glint tries to patch him up but doesn't do much. Celia uses prestidigitation to clean the area to help patch him up. Glint patches up Drogard, but nobody can heal. We take a one hour rest, tending to Drogard's wounds while G.A. 4357 guards the hall. Glint fails to unlock the next door and breaks a pick. G.A. 4357 mends the pick and unlocks the door with his. Celia blows the door open with Thaumaturgy, which knocks down some plates as the next room is a dining hall. The liquor bottles have just dust, they are thousands of years old it seems to Glint. (Howizter left now due to his voice dying). We find a hall with statues, and walk 120ft and still see no end. There is an odd feeling and no end. It's a cursed hallway. Glint stabs the door. Celia tries to burn the door but it does nothing. Glint goes to stab the door, but the Drogard opens it instead. Glint still stabs the door. There is a pedestal in the center of the new room, maybe our artifact is there. It is a hammer with a glass dome around it. There are four holes surrounding it. Each corner has another metal statue in them, similar to the constructs we fought before. There are 4 large caskets in the room. Drogard knocks a construct into a casket and it leaks green mist. Celia throws her torch into the green mist escaping from a broken casket, but nothing happens. Glint tastes the green mist and it's poisonous. Xorm keeps hitting the glass dome, but it appears to be unharmed. Xorm reads the dwarven runes and says Dhalghal out loud as that is the name of the family. It's from the ancient war between the elves are dwarves in Erastil. When he said the name, the glass started to glow a bit. Celia casts a spell to repeatedly say Dhalghal and the endless pits in the ground start to glow and light up the room. Glint touches the glass and says "Open Sesame" and the glass raises up the celing and the hammer is still floating. Glint picks up the hammer, and feels a hatred against elves and a rush of power. Celia and Drogard are having some mind effects from the room. Celia runs screaming from the room for a bit, finally coming to her senses. Drogard gets tremors and then walks 30 feet and starts obsessively counting cracks. Celia attempts to help Drogard by making a scent of alcohol to rouse him, but he gets convinced he is drunk. He then goes partially blind. Glint runs back a bit, ties a rope around Drogard and starts walking it back to Celia to help pull him. Celia pulls him 5 feet close to the exit. Drogard gained a form of alcoholism. Being drunk keeps him sane. Xorm comes back and yanks Drogard to safety. He doesn't seem well. As we talk, Drogard regains his vision and sound. We create a new plan to sneak out and act like we were killed. The light seems to be 200ft up. Glint hears a suggestive whisper, but doesn't know from where. He pops a mean stiffy, like 2 whole inches! Glint hears dwarven whispers and understands it. It says to go behind the bar. The hammer whispers to open a cabinet. There is a button in the cabinet and Glint presses it. The stone floor descends into stairs near the bar. In the back corner of the room, there is a chest with the family crest on it. It has a lock on it. Glint shoves the back of the hammer into the lock. Glint finds 50gp and swipes it before seeing. There is an ornate book. Xorm finds it's an ancient Dwarven spellbook, but isn't able to decifer it much. Glint tricks Xorm into saying "Turn West at the East Hollow" and then presses a secret button in the chest and we hear grinding upstairs. Xorm finds from the books that the Dhalghal was one of the most lethal families in the Dwarf-Elf war. Drogard stops obsessing and mutter, but still has tremors and a desire to drink. There are now 2 levers in the back of the Hearth. Xorm recognizes one says ascend and the other descend. We take the 15min elevator up. There is a quaint hidden magical Dwarven room. Xorm hits a button and then the stone disappears, and we see a forest. We are on a hill. As we head out it seems we walk straight through rock, we cannot go back. Glint covers the head of the hammer with cloth and puts on a fake mustache, and covers his hair with a hood. --- EXP: 299 --- We know we can head north to go towards Queensland but we are on one of the islands still. Glint scouts out the camp we came from. There are more soldiers now and an expedition on a schooner. There are 2 rowboats and a large ship. There's maybe 20% more men, 10 men more on the Schooner and they seem to be going in next morning. Drogard no longer tremors but he forever craves alcohol. The rest of the party rests. We head to the camp at night and half of them are asleep. The schooner and a rowboat seem unguarded. Xorm walks under water, without needing oxygen, and drags the rowboat back to us. We climb on the rowboat and head back to the mainland. We head towards the Schooner, and run into a trader ship. It's a ship Glint recognizes, he asks Celia to flash a Silver S near the ship with prestidigitation. The ship drops it's sails. People start to wake on the Schooner, and the Party boards the ship. A human greets Glint and asks what he is doing out here. He lets him know the camp is not friendly and we should run. The human sneaks Glint a note without the party seeing. The ship is heading to the Southern District of Queensdale. Glint introduces the party to the Silver-Tongue Players travelling actors. We get off unrecognized in Queensdale. Glint mentions work and an old man on the Dock offers 1sp for each fish caught. Glint refuses the offer, and Xorm psychically attacks the fish and gives it to him. Xorm tosses the 1sp to Celia so she can buy her pipeweed. The Silver-Tongue Players won't be performing for a few days. We head to a tavern called "The Bustling Fungus". Celia looks for a young looking man who's vulnerable to her charms. She finds a man with a spotty looking beard and approaches him, asking him to buy her a drink. Her falls to her femine wiles and tosses her a gold piece and goes pale. Celia talks to the bartender to ask if there's anything exciting going on. Glint heads out to the alley and looks for sketchy people. Glint scares off a junky and robs the unconcious junky nearby for 2cp, a strange flower, a pipe and some pipeweed. (The townsfolk wear the shield of the willow family. The magistrates work for the Order of Justice and have a symbol of a book crossed with chains). Glint carves the symbol of the Order of Justice next to the junky for when he wakes up. A wood-elf threatens Celia to get her to leave his bar. Xorm and Celia get kicked out. Glint re-enters the tavern to give Celia the pipe-weed and sees the confrontation. He feels hatred for elves in a rush. Glint looks for a barmaid to see if this guy really is the owner. She says he's a bum and she doesn't care about him. Glint sneaks up, and wacks the wood-elf with the hilt of his sword from behind, drawing blood. He picks Glint up, while Glint struggles. Xorm yells barfight! Drogard finally notices the tussle and charges the elf with a goring attack. Glint is dropped and the bar goes silent. One bard counts one, two, three and starts the music again. The barmaid gives Drogard a free pint and drags off the wood-elf. Glint feels peace seeing the horn killing the elf. --- EXP: 1 --- The barmaid gave us a room for the night and we take a long rest. Session 2 (03/01/2020) - (Howizter Missing) --------------------------------------------- Glint gets some insane lucid dreams about mist and rocks with a waterfalls in his sleep that seem to be calling to him. It keeps coming to him as an obsessive dream. Xorm talks about destroying the Elder Brains as his life mission, Glint is confused. As we talk of making money, an old man hears us and mentions work. He wants people to find the Fountain of Fortunes, Xorm knows it's like the Fountain of Youth, but it will give you whatever you want. He asks for 20gp up front, we are skeptical and Glint insults him, be he asks us to follow him to his lair. He walks swiftly through the streets with no care. The party heads inside and it's a mess with scrolls and maps. Glint readies a dagger under his cloak before entering. Some of the documents have stamps. Xorm asks his name and it is Ivy. He says it has narrowed it down a bit. Celia haggles him down to 5gp for the maps and 15gp on our return. A big man and one backup breaks in asking Ivy for 100gp he owes and starts to drag him off. The Minotaur interrupts them taking Ivy away. He owes Madam Balazar 100gp + interest for brothel services. Drogard charges the large man and knocks him back into the old man, but gores him with his horns seemingly killing him instantly. Xorm scares off the other man, and someone in Armor screams stop right there and is running outside. Celia drags the old man back inside and rifles through his robes. Glint lights a bookshelf on fire and books it out of the house. Glint sees 2 groups of guards coming down the road. Xorm puts the fire out with his waterskin. Celia breaks into Ivy's bedroom with a key hidden near the door. She looks for valuables. Glint hides across the road in the crowds acting like one of the Tavern Patrons from across the street. Xorm explains it to the guards, but Celia spins a tale of being his adopted Granddaughter and the people attacking him and him hitting one with a blunt object, killing him. She also says they tried to set his home on fire and talked about sex services. Glint screams from the crowd, "Oh my god, did you see that minotaur take that man down the road to rape him!". Drogard checks on the old man and he is dead from being crushed and internal bleeding. Celia convinces the two guards that didn't run over near Glint to chase the large man, leaving the house unguarded. Xorm searches and sees many handwritten notes on Fountains of mystical origin, most of it unreadable. He also finds a book of lore on mystical items. Drogard takes the 5gp back from the old man and drags his corpse back. One of the guards rushes over to help. From around the corner walks a man in Ornate Blue Robes (Magistrate of the Order of Justice), with a Book with Crossed Chains and a Paladin and they start talking to the guards. Celia asks to be excused and the Magistrate asks for her and her friends to all go join him immediately. He casts Zone of Truth. Glint is still hiding. The party fails to resist the Zone of Truth and the Minotaur is honest. Celia plays it off as not being able to see well out the door as to why her story differed from Drogard's. Xorm confirms as much as he can, and they are all let go by the Magistrate. The guards clean up the body. Glint finds a silver bracelet and 2 rings and Ivy's journal. In his journal he just wants the gold to get pussy. He slowly goes insane and sex-crazed the longer the journal goes on. Glint also finds the deed. A realtor offers 1000gp for Ivy's old house, we can repair it and clean it up and sell it for 2000gp. Xorm haggles up to 1250gp. We each get 312gp with 2gp to Hawke as a tip. Drogard, Xorm, and Celia put their money in The South Queensdale Bank. Glint converts 300gp to 30pp. Drogard heads to a tavern and we head to find Caravan work. We find nothing nearby and Drogard get's smashed. We need to walk to the East Gate, a long walk away in the city. As we move the city is less market/residential and more industrial in this area with lots of wagons. We head into the nicer looking property with a Help Wanted sign. The guards direct us inside the gate, and Drogard looks a little tipsy but holds it together. There are many paintings inside the building of the same guy. There's a reception desk with a lady at it. Glint introduces the party and asks about Caravan Guard work. She asks about an appointment and we have none. Lord Hold will see us, he just woke up at noon. R-L-R-7doors-L. The door says Hold on it. Drogard barges in and Hold pulls a rapier. Xorm and Glint calm it down. Glint, the party, and Lord Hold dicuss a troublesome shipment to Everton that keeps getting hit on the roads by bandits. Four wagons worth of items. He will provide us with no riding accomodations, but we can ride the wagons. Hold says that if we complete the services, he will provide us with 200gp each, Xorm, Drogard, and Celia want their money transferred to the South Queensdale Bank. We sleep in the Tavern, meet up with the Caravan (four wagon operators) and make our way. The path has thick foliage on the outside of the path and travel quickly gets rough and slows down. We travel for 3 days and the path to Everton looks more overgrown and in disrepair. While sleeping Glint is having more visions. There is a waterfall coming from the side of a cliff. There are buildings, maybe a town. There's a pull to this location. It's pulling him North-East of where we are currently. Drogard and Xorm walk in front of the wagons 100 feet up the road. We run across another area that is wet and muddy. It's midday. There is no flowing water, or recent rain we know of. Celia sees a peice of a wagon wheel sticking out of the mud. We spend a few hours trudging the wagons through the mud and then we call it a day. Drogard and Xorm see a one foot tall pile of mud, five feet wide up ahead and Xorm pokes it with a stick. The mud grabs the stick and pulls it in, Xorm lets go of the stick. The mud starts to change shape and looks sort of humanoid, but it's essentially a standing mud man, a large medium creature. Celia burns the Mud Monster and Glint shoots it with a Shortbow. Xorm stabs at it with his rapier and Drogard helps flank the Mud Monster and bashes it with his hammer, but misses. The Mud Monster expands and sucks Drogard in (Xorm wriggles out) and he can't breathe. Xorm and Glint inspire Drogard with their luck and he escapes the Mud Monster. It tries to engulf them again after Celia burns the Mud Monster and Xorm gets stuck inside. The Mud Monster starts to run away with Xorm inside of it! Drogard takes a swing and cleanly hits Xorm instead of the Mud Monster. Xorm casts Psionic spells while inside the monster and Drogard charges the Mud Monster with it's horns. The Monster shifts and Drogard hits Xorm a bit again, but with his horns. Xorm falls out and is free. Celia tries to put the Mud Monster to sleep and the mud falls back into a pile. We all back up and Celia tosses an oil lamp on the mud and hits it with a fire bolt. Xorm psionically exploded the Mud Monster. --- EXP: 500 (For the session) --- Session 3 (11/01/2020) - (Howizter Missing, HaloLevin joins) ------------------------------------------------------------- Four more days pass and we finally make it to Everton. There is a small celebration in the square with a small warehouse/building that has the hold crest from the caravan company we are with. The leader of this building pays us out and tells us there is a Winter Festival going on. Everton is a large town. The woods are populated and there are 7,000 or so people between the woods and the city of Everton. There are very few guards here. The town has one Inn/Tavern. Around town we ask and the Dragon(tooth?) Cave is supposed to be a Mystical cave to the East, but nobody has ever found it. There is a rumor of treasure there. Glint looks for a moonshiner, and he finds Earl, an idiot that runs a still. It's very clean. He gives Glint a test vial of "Potato Water", who attempts to down it and gags on it. Glint shudders when drinking it. Glint spends 113gp on 225 litres of "Potato Water", to be delivered to the tavern. Glint is shot down by Drogard trying to sell him the 225L of moonshine for 150gp. Both Celia and Drogard give the shot of "Potato Water" a go. Celia coughs taking the shot, spraying some on Glint. Drogard sloppily chokes down the shot, pukes in his mouth and swallows it down. He feels he wants more of it. Drogard demands to know where the house is that produces the "Potato Water" and scares Glint. Celia calms Drogard down and winks at Glint. Celia slept at the bar, passed out. We all took a long rest. Xorm wakes Celia up and asks where everyone is. Drogard had already taken off to look for a healer. Xorm heads looking for Dwarves and finds out there is an Arch-Wizard in Queensdale. Celia attempts to hair of the dog it with beer from her waterskin and feels a bit better. Celia goes stumbling around and finds a goat. She pets it and it charges her, but she dodges. Drogard talks to Glint and offers to buy the "Potato Water" if he can help sweet-talk some healers into fixing his broke brain and explains when he started to crave alcohol after the dungeon. Xorm notices a Half-Elf Bard walk into the Tavern, playing a lute and sharing tales of Dragontooth cave. Drogard and Glint overhear the party starting downstairs. Xorm asks the Bard about the cave and she says it is menacing and would need coin. Xorm offers to share the rewards from the cave. She says if everyone is reliable, she will guide and share the rewards. Drogard and Glint go to a medicine man and Glint barely convinces him to help. He says there is an illusionary madness spell. He said it will cost 500gp. Glint pays 30pp and 50gp to the medicine man who puts it into a lockbox in his tent. Celia is looking for her friends, and stumbles on someone who has seen the minotaur and goes to find Glint and Drogard. She tells Glint that she caused the alcoholism, and Glint says Drogard doesn't remember and won't do well if she tells him. Drogard is cured. We all head back to the tavern and see Xorm and a female Half-Elf Bard. Glint is excited about another travelling performer joining the party! Celia goes out looking for street urchins, but many are afraid of her. She tries to pass out her last silver to them and some kid says he's not charity and that her monster coin would be cursed. Celia asks about money owed to Glint and Drogard explains the procedure and the large barrel of "Potato Water". We head out with aour new member, Misrielle past the town and into the woods. We are walking and Celia gets hit by something and tells us to turn around. She was hit by a berry in the back of her head. Glint thinks he sees some motion behind us in the treeline. He clicks his tongue and Misrielle and Drogard both notice as he points at the location. He sneaks up closer and there is a boy of around 9 hiding behind a bush that Glint sees. He tells nobody and hides behind a tree. Celia calls to Glint, who doesn't respond. She moves up and sees a boy in a bush with a blowgun. She tries to grab him to tell him off, but he wriggles free. She tries to tell him off as he scrambles into the bush away from her. He seems terrified of her but doesn't reply. Celia yells "there's one over here", but doesn't say what. Misrielle runs over to see and says "What the fuck did you do to the kid?" to Celia, who says it was fair as he shot her with a berry. Misrielle asks why the kid was hitting people with berries and appolgizes to the kid for the scare, but he is too terrified and doesn't respond. The berry-shooter tries to run and Celia attempts to tackle him but misses and he slips away as he falls prone. Another berry hits Celia from another blowgun. The kid Glint saw chucks a rock at Misrielle, hitting her in the leg. Glint sees another berry wiz past his head. Xorm tries to telepathicly intimidate the children. Glint grabs a child and asks him what he is doing, he says "screw you". Glint screams that, "he got one of the little shits". Celia tries to run over to the caught kid and hits a weird lookin branch trap that hits her straight in the chest on the way over. Celia grabs the blowgun and shoots the kid in the forehead. The kid starts crying. Misrielle runs over and scares the kid into telling what they are doing. He says the Tiefling was trying to hurt them earlier and this is payback. Xorm takes a berry to the head. He Mind-Thrusts the kid and he crumples to a ball on the ground instantly and yells, "fuck you". He then telepathicly says he knocked out the kid to his friends. Glint hogties the crying kid and ties him to the tree. Celia tries to get the kid to say what the Tiefling did wrong, but he refuses. She throws a stupid looking tantrum. Some snowflakes begin to fall. Celia unties the kid and brings him to the Misrielle and saying we'll walk the kid the edge of the woods and he can be free. Misrielle asks what the kid was thinking. The kid just cried. She starts walking the kid back and playing her flute as she walks. The song calms the kid. The other kids seem to have run off. --- EXP Gained: 25 --- We continue for the rest of the day and take a long rest in the woods. We wake up to 6" of snow and continue our trudge following the Bard. A huge elk runs across our path and seems to give us a brief bow, which Xorm returns as it watches. Celia runs up to the elk to try and pet it. At 10' away, it rears up and rears its horns at it. Xorm telepathicly tells Celia off and then tries to introduce himself to it telepathicly as Xorm and his friends. It bows regally at Xorm. It speaks back, but it seems to be in Sylvan. Misrielle understands it and translates. He is the guardian of the woods. We say there is a valuable treasure we are going to. The elk offers his protections if we rid the forest of his evil. Celia asks if she can ride the elk, and Misrielle appolgizes and says Celia wants to ride it. The Great Elk allows Celia to ride it, bending to allow her on. Animals surround us and help guide us through the woods. He guides us for 3 days as we travel to Dragontooth Cave. The Great Elk drops us off and we thank it. It leaves with its 2 dire bears and 20 squirrels. It is midday. The cave needs us to climb up to it. We enter the cave and it's very dark in the cave, like a cloud of darkness. We can't see any exterior light. We light up torches and start moving with Celia and Misrielle walking upfront and unlit. The cave gets smaller and tighter in a straight line. We walk for 20 minutes and suddenly we see no floor for 30feet to the wall in front of us. Using a torch, we see no bottom, same with darkvision. Misrielle drops a rock down to hear when it lands. We hear no noise from it falling for a long time. Celia wants Drogard to throw Glint. Glint points out that there is no ledge, but a flat wall. Celia throws a firebolt down and sees the spell disappears. Glint asks Celia to fire a firebolt at the wall, and she does. It scorches and does nothing. Xorm examines the walls with his torch and sees some red letters appear, which seem to be infernal, and he calls out asking for infernal speakers. Celia translate the wall-o-text. It roughly says that leaps of faith offer great rewards. Misrielle takes a running jump down the chasm. We see her fall while playing her flute. We hear it trail off as she goes. Drogard walks off and Glint does a backflip off. Xorm and Celia both look over the edge and hear and see nothing. Celia asks for Xorm's rope and he refuses, asking why. Celia ties off 50' of hempen rope to the edge (hanging down 46') and does a backflip off. Xorm finally hops down as he hears nothing. We all seem to fall for what seems like an hour. We start falling slower and slower, and then land on a hard floor that is perfectly smooth. All of the torches go out. We relight out torches and see nothing but the floor extending past the light. There is a ledge where we fell and the roof goes up into nothingness. The stuff we dropped is on the floor with us. We start walking in a direction for 15 minutes. We feel a slight downward slope to the floor, but we have no walls or ceiling around us, just an endless floor. Xorm pours some water on the floor and we follow that for a bit and continue heading in that direction. The floor start to get even steeper. Glint tries to slide and makes in 5 feet. The floor gets steeper and Glint starts sliding, Misrielle sits down and starts scooting. Drogard and Celia tie themselves together. Xorm yeets himself. We all land in very cold water, colder than ice should be. Glint tastes the water, and it has no taste to it. Glint gets a thirst for someone else's blood. We see a floor 6" above the surface of the water 120' way and move for it. Celia tries to warm the water and it does nothing. We swim Glint and Drogard don't seem to fair well in the freezing water, they start to get hypothermia. Glint and Misrielle seem to do poorly again in another 30' or so. We are about 60' off of the ledge. Drogard is slowed by hypothermia and since he is still tied to Celia and they both move slowly. Xorm notices they are moving slower and asks if they are alright. Celia shoots a firebolt up and Drogard says he's freezing. Xorm helps Drogard so he doesn't feel cold for an hour. Glint and Misrielle get to the platform and it is very warm and cozy for some reason. We push on and see a 20 foot tall structure with a huge base, pedestal and top platform. Celia climbs on Drogard and we head to the base of the structure. It is kind of shaped like a fountain but doesn't seem to be one, or any type of tomb we'd know. There is more infernal on the base that Xorm finds and he calls Celia over. It says, "in order to receive, one must give". It's repeated all around the base of the structure. Xorm throws a gold piece on top, it tinks around and doesn't come back on. Celia cuts her hand with a dagger and throws the dagger into it. Glint runs over and attempts to suckle the blood from Celia's hand. Celia yeets Glint when he grabs her forearm. Glint gets a little of the blood on his hand and licks it up. Everyone sees this. Glint feels very satisfied and wants more. Then everyone sees the large stone altar start to glow a bright read. The central pillar lowers down and the platform lays flush for 30 seconds or so. Xorm takes his coin back with mage-hand. The top platform raises back up with no pillar. There are stairs leading down that were unearthed. Drogard bandages up Celia and Xorm asks Glint what that was about. Glint tells him he thinks there is something in the water. Glint feels he may be a vampire. We head down the large spiral stair case with no walls that seems endless. When we start to see the bottom, there are massive piles of gold. There is a pedestal at the end of the stairs with a small fountain of no water. Glint asks if he is hallucinating, and the others see it too. It seems to be millions of gold coins, up to 40 feet tall. Misrielle says not to touch anything. Xorm examines the coins and they seem to be stamped with infernal text, but are gold. Celia translates but there's not much clues to it. Celia swan dives into the gold and swims into it and makes angels in it. Xorm walks across towards the fountain and we follow. Xorm examines the fountain and then puts a gold coin on the fountain and some water in it. The fountain has infernal carved into it. Xorm calls Celia over. The fountain says, "if you wish upon a well" and some sort of children's tale. Celia repeats the words outloud. Glint asks if this is another blood thing. Celia drops some more blood in the fountain and seems to be thinking to herself while doing so (secret wish??). She secretly feels rejected and that she needs something more realistic or material. Celia offers Glint some blood and he suckles it a bit. She then lays down in the fountain, slits her wrist and tries her secret wrist again. She doesn't seem to bleed much though. She hears an annoyed voice in her head/soul saying she was not listening. The whole room shakes. Celia goes to stab herself again and Drogard tries to stop her. They wrestle over the dagger and Celia keeps the dagger and stabs herself and she falls back into the fountain. More blood fills the fountain, covering the coins. Celia seems to be hallucinating (she sees this figure: https://i.imgur.com/cJwZz05.png and hears a voice calling her greedy and saying the wish cannot be granted, if she tries further, she will die). Xorm tries to wish for a safe way out (he hears in a voice saying his wish can't be granted, something material or more realistic). Misrielle pricks her finger and asks for a magical item. A piccolo appears in the blood inside the fountain. ... Glint blacked out and woke back up (it seems the party has wished in a bunch of magical items or something)... The figure from Celia's mind appeared and tried to tempt Xorm to trade the party for his escape and he said no, so it said it would devour us all. The creature calls itself the Lord of Greed. Glint hides behind the Minotaur who is bracing to take a hit. Celia casts Expedious Retreat as she is low. Misrielle causes the creature to fall over laughing and prone. Drogard and Glint slash him up good while he is laughing all the way. Celia runs up and joins in on the fun, hitting him with the magical rapier, then dashes back out. The creature stops laughing and gets back up. It attacks Drogard three times, leaving him badly wounded. Suddenly Drogard seems mad, perks up, and looks a fair bit better (a perfect second wind). Varen and Glint miss horribly. Celia puts the creature to sleep, and Glint jumps out the way while he falls. Everyone prepares to attack at the same time. Celia hits it first with her rapier and then everyone else attacks. The devil/creature gives out a death gurgle inbetween Glint's two stabs, and he dies. The room starts to shake and all the gold starts to turn to dust. All of the magical items start to turn to dust (Misrielle's piccolo and Celia's rapier). We all are pulled into the gold as we drain out with it's dust. We all suddenly wake back up in Dragontooth Cave, but there is no cavern left. It's just a cave now. We don't know how much time has passed, but the large elk is back looking in our direction. Xorm bows to the elk and it bows back and thanks us all, which Misrielle relays. The elk offers to show us a trove of dwarven treasure. He leads us to an old dwarven hold. A sealed stone door is there, but Glint notices it... A keyhole for the back end of the hammer. Glint waits, the others see it too, and Glint unlocks it. There are 2 chests in the room. This bears the same crest as the first Dwarven temple. Celia opens one chest and it contains a longsword. Xorm opens the other chest and he sees a purple silk bag, a darker coloured bag, and another book similar to the ancient one from before. Xorm takes the book and the purple sack. The book is deteriorated, but some is readable. The book also seems to be used with notes in the sides. Xorm find rare jems like diamonds, rubies and sapphires (2x) in the purple sack. Drogard checks the dark sack and get 57pp. When Glint passes the door, the construct in the room moves and stands at attention. When Glint leaves, it seems to follow and stand at attention. The construct exists the room. Glint asks the construct to jump up and down. It slowly tries to and does. Glint asks it to stay and it doesn't move. Drogard hands 11 platinum to each of us, but 17 to Glint to help pay back debts (6pp paid back). The elk becons Misrielle back outside and she finds a almost glowing lute as a reward for her translation and helping her spread the word of the adventure. She bows to it and thanks it, vowing to tell the tales of the elk protector of the mighty woods and our adventure here. Celia removes the longsword from its sheath. It's a silver longsword, it seems to be non-magical as far as she can tell. --- Purple Sack Loot: 500gp worth of diamonds. 150gp worth of rubies. 50gp worth of sapphires. Dark Sack Loot: 57 Platinum Pieces (11 GP each with 2 extra for Drogard) Magical Items: Flame Tongue Longsword (Taken by Celia) Moonlight Glowing Lute (Taken by Misrielle) Dwarven Construct (Controllable by the Hammer owned by Glint) --- We take 3 days to Everton with the Elk's help, Celia riding the Elk part of the way. Then we took another day to get back into town. --- EXP: 800 --- Celia inspected the sword further and attuned to it. While poking it into a fire, she said "fire" while doing so, and it seemed like the blade light up with fire. She realized it's an enchanted Flame Tongue Sword. Glint learned how to command the Construct. The hammer has to be held to control it. Glint left the Construct as a statue on the outskirts of town. Misrielle's new loot only glows in moonlight. Xorm picked up a few more ancient dwarven words by cross referencing the two books. We see 3 street urchins playing in the snow. One seems to be missing. Could be the one Xorm left unconcious in a bush after breaking his brain. We head to The Upset Pidgeon in Everton to party for a few nights. Glint was light sensitive and kept his hood up during the day and thirsts for blood (he became temporarily insane thinking he is a vampire for a bit) but distracted by the construct a lot. Session 4 (24/01/2020) - (Howizter Missing) --------------------------------------------- We wake up in The Upset Pidgeon Tavern after a few days. Celia is sleeping at the bar still. She tags along with Drogard to go weapon shopping. Drogard tries to trade in his longsword for a discount off of a new Greatsword. The "Potato Water" was delivered and held by the innkeeper. Glint pays her 5gp to hold it indefinitely. Glint gets a bag-maker to look at the construct. He commissions the leatherworker to make a large pack for the construct claiming it's an art-piece. It will take 2 weeks and cost 65gp after some haggling from 75gp. Misrielle gets herself some new Studded Leather Armour. We all meet up in the Tavern and Glint tells the partys about bandits on the East coast. While talking a commotion happens outside. Drogards see a group of gnomes running scared down the street, one with a baby in it's arms. The leader seems wounded. The Sage/Druid leader of the town is talking to them, and everyone is crying. Drogards says Glint would be best to talk to them and not scare them and describes the Gnome seen. "We got attacked out of nowhere. The whole settlement has been run over.". The Gnome is Zilfan. The sage introducses us. Zilfan is bleeding a bit. Their Gnomeish settlement is about a days travel north of Everton. Duergar have slaughtered and run over the town. Zilfan thinks Daggerfalls may have issues as well, or have fallen. There were two dozen Duergar that attacked. We decide to check it out, scout it out, and try to help some of the Gnomes escape the town. The leader/sage of Everton offers whatever he can scrounge up on behalf of Everton if we are successful. We head to the edge of town and see a half-dozen druids and three dead Duergar there. Xorm walks up to the druids and they are sad about the death. They tried not to kill them, but they would no stop fighting. We head for 10hrs down and reach near the edge of the Gnomish Settlement. There are a couple of short figures in the road. Glint sneaks up 300ft or so to scout it out. Glint hides behind a bush to see. There are 2 Duergar in the road and a pile of dead gnomes on the ground. There are 2 more Duergar on the right, ransacking buildings. Glint explains what he saw. Celia decides to sneak up and put one to sleep, and then drag him into the woods to interrogate. The one near the building falls asleep. Celia casts invisibility on herself and sneaks up to the body to drag it into cover. She drags him back to the party and we tie him up as he sleeps. This Duergar seems already wounded a bit. Celia binds his mouth. Drogard slaps him awake. The Duergar mumbles weird sounds. Xorm interrogates the Duergar telepathicly. He seems to not want to cooperate. Celia stabs him with her sword. Xorm says he was interrogating him. Xorm tries to get the numbers out of the dwarf, but he refuses and asks people to kill him instead. Xorm kicks him in the nuts and tries intimidating him. Xorm threatens him with a dagger to the eye, it fails. Celia asks Xorm to threaten that she will hunt down his whole family. He doesn't. Xorm cuts out the Duergar's eye. Xorm throws the eye in his mouth and he vomits. The Duergar will tell if we just kill him afterwords. He says to Xorm there were 6 total. We set up to simultaneously attack and Glint rushes in, starting the combat with a dash and a sneaky stab. Xorm does some fire damage to one. Celia casts Darkness on herself to stay hard to hit. Misrielle does some decent damage. Drogard charges a Duergar and knocks him flat. Xorm thrusts some psychic damage out. One Duergar grows to twice his size, taller than the minotaur, and faces Drogard. Another Duergar grows and heads toward the road. The Duergar in Celia's darkness suddenly vanishes. The large Duergar stares down Drogard, causing him to miss. In anger Drogard tries to shove the massive Dwarf and he knocks him to the ground. Glint gets smacked and takes a hit. Xorm gets attacked as well and takes a solid hit. Celia moves up with her darkness and pulls one of the enlarged Duergar to her with a firebolt that struck true. Misrielle uses Crown of Madness on one of the enlarged Duergar. The dwarf that had disappeared enlarges and appears beside Drogard, who chops it down a bit with his greatsword and tries to knock him prone with his horns and succeeds. Glint escapes the knocked over Duergar and stabs the other while dancing away. Xorm explodes the brain of the dwarf in front of him. The Crowned Duergar smashes his friend in the chest with his warpick, killing him. He then runs off in horror, trampling the corpses of the fallen gnomes. The crown disappears from his head. Celia yells "fire" and the sword sets ablaze and she misses the Duergar in front of her. Drogard cleaves into the last small dwarf with his greatsword and halves him. Glint runs after the running, formerly crowned, enlarged Duergar and climbs up on him, stabbing him and riding him into the ground. We all hear the last enlarged dwarf in the cloud of darkness, but can't do much for Celia as we can't see her or him. Celia attacks the last one and backs off, making him visible. Xorm tries to attack as well and does nothing. Invigorated by his escape from darkness, he attacks Drogard and strikes true. Misrielle fires her crossbow square into the back of his neck between his mail and helmet. He immediately falls forward, with a gurgle, onto Drogard, who was unable to avoid it. The fallen dwarves all shrink back within the next minute. --- Duergar loot: 2gp (Taken by Glint) 2sp (Taken by Glint) 6cp (Taken by Glint) EXP: 220 --- Xorm tries to break into the burning building as the flames get worse. He finds a half on fire house, but no occupants. Xorm creates a funeral pyre for the fallen gnomes and burns the corpses. Drogard and Xorm through the Duergar into the burning building to get rid of them. There is nothing in the other buildings. Xorm checks for tracks, and there are tracks heading north in the road that show the two dozen Duergar entering town and leaving town with some sort of pointy four-towed creature. We notice a plume of smoke around 30 minutes of travel to the north. As we also deliberate, there is another similarly far off plume appearing to the south-east. We head an hour back towards Everton and night falls. We camp out for the night. We choose not to light a fire to not give ourselves away. As we rested, Celia light a fire during the night. There is a large smoke plume in the direction we are heading. It seems like it would be two hours down the road. It's a huge plume. We use concealment to move up the road towards the plume. There is a convoy with four wagons, two of which being war wagons. They are smoldering and not much is left. Just burnt war implements. There are many human bodies on the road. These wagons seemed to have been positioned, possibly defensively or attackers may have been trying to use it as a roadblock. They have Royal Crest of Queensdale on them and are completely ransacked. There are similar Duergar footprints that we saw before, but not the four-toed pointy ones. There do not seem to be prints running back to Everton. The Duergar seemed to have attacked from the East and left to the East. There are no Duergar bodies. We make it back to town nearing midday. The town seems perfectly normal. Celia runs over to pet the Goats. There are Queensdale guards in the town. Glint looks for the most important looking guard with the biggest codpiece and we inform him of what happened to the four wagons. The guards were going to Daggerfalls to deliver a message and garrisoned here by chance. The town Sage let them know of Duergar attack so they left some guards back. They are sending a pidgeon out to get more guards/army. The Sage gives us 1sp. Xorm gives it to Glint, who pitches it out of sight. We are allowed to drink a round of the Sage's tab. Very few people are out on the streets and the tavern is empty. The barmaid has seen some shit and isn't that worried about it. Glint reminds her about the Sage's tab. Glint wants to move on to the Eastern Coast. Drogard wants to hunt down small parties of Duergar. Xorm wants to find an Elder-Brain to kill, we don't know what that is. Celia questions Xorm about his mask and he shows his normal Gith face. Misrielle performs a sad tale to match the last two days events, inspiring Glint a bit. We decide to head back to Queensdale to sell our jewels and collect our money. It takes around 8 days. We see wagons with the Holdfast Trading Corporation's Crest on it. Celia asks them where they are going. They think we are muggers. They are carrying building supplies, food, and water. Glint warns them and the army is coming in a few days behind them to Everton. The wagon driver tosses Xorm 1gp and leaves. We continue another day towards Queensdale and about a day away from the bridge to Queensdale. Xorm notices a small footpath in the brush branching to the west. Celia asks what he is looking at and Xorm lets her know and then wanders over to take a piss near a tree. Down the path seems to be a something made of stone, around 30 feet in. This is non-natural in origin and has a flame. Xorm moves up and sees a small grove with a stone altar and a pond. The symbol is that of Selûne (a Faerun god of Chaotic Good). There are footprints from about 8 hours ago. Xorm telepathicly communicates with Glint and lets him know what he found and that it seems safe. Glint lets the party know after some confusion about the voice in his head and the party follows after Xorm. There is a bowl, and Xorm puts 1gp in it. There is a weird vial of red liquid near the altar. Celia spots a frog and jumps into the water to try and play with it, but fails to catch it. Celia dares Xorm to drink the red liquid. Glint overhears and picks up the vial, uncorks it and smells it. It smells a lot like some sort of health potion. Celia asks to play spin the bottle with it. Glint drinks the potion in the vial and feels great. The party leaves. Glint urinates in the vial, corks it up, and puts it back where he found it for the next person to taste. We head into Queensdale and back near The Bustling Fungus. --- Xorm sells the jewels: 500gp worth of diamonds, sold for 440gp. 150gp worth of rubies, sold for 125gp. 50gp worth of sapphires, sold for 44gp. Total: 609gp, traded at the bank for 60pp and 9gp. --- Everyone gets their money out of the bank. Celia finds some chickens and one pecks her arms. Misrielle and Drogard go off to charter a boat. There are pirates that will be heading out west, and will take 200gp per person for travel. The pirates say woman are bad luck on the seas. Xorm spends time learning up about the lands to the West and about different lore of treasures like the Shield of Strength and the Armour of Justice. There are dwarves heading west that will take us for a high amount of money, but Misrielle is worried as she is a half-elf. 150gp is the cheapest dwarven ship to Galadrel. Celia says to one of the boatmasters that there is another boat chartering for 80gp. He doesn't buy it and scoffs at him. Misrielle tries to talk the price down a bit and gets him down to 140gp per person. Xorm gets a 50gp price for not needing to eat any food. We decide to stay in Erastil instead as both Glint and Misrielle don't want to go to Galadrel. Xorm has read about various rumored dungeons and more in Dragon's Claw Ridge and more points of interest in Dragon's Tooth Ridge. We head to Dragon's Claw Ridge to look for a Spire that Xorm read about in the southern points of Dragon's Claw Ridge. We take 2pp for transit and a rowboat when we get there. Celia tackles a chicken and tries to tie it up. It pecks her and runs off. The party heads out and we sail for 2 days. We pass Strathmore and start readying the rowboat to disembark in a few hours. Once we hit the drop, we are drifting and we drop in the boat. Celia kisses the captain and thanks him, which torques his donger so hard that we HAD TO LEAVE (he had a demon fetish). We come across a field of plants that seem to be some sort of poisonous flower (as recognized by Drogard). Celia spots what she thinks is a squirrel and runs off into the flowers. There is a field of vines with yellow flowers growing out of them that she runs into. Every flower she touches releases a yellow pollen from their stamen. It causes her to cough a bit and it's a bit gross. She runs back out and tells us about the flowers releasing things. On the path she walked, one of the vines starts moving and it goes into the head of an undead that is coming towards us, but the vine holds it back. Xorm tries to telepathicly talk to the undead and he senses no consciousness. It seems that the vines/flowers control the undead and may have created it. As we talk about what to do, more rustling happens and a undead bear with vines in its head pulls to it's max reach as well. Xorm tries to poke a flower with his torch. It releases spores and he goes mostly paralyzed. The vines move forward and start crawling up his legs. He calls out to Glint telepathicly and Glint tells the others to help him out. Drogard attacks the vines to free Xorm; With a chop of his greatsword one vine is severed. Celia kills the other vine, but Xorm is still motionless in a trance. Xorm kills more of the vines in front of himself. Glint stays in the back, not able to help much. Drogard pulls Xorm fifteen feet back from the vines. Celia tosses a firebolt into the vines in front of her. Suddenly Xorm starts to move again he knows his intelligence is being lowered by the onset of the vines and that it will take time to heal. He tries to chop down a tree with his hatchet. Seeing this useless display, Glint fires an arrow into the tree to help, or make fun of Xorm. Drogard helps cut down the tree with his greatsword. Misrielle performs a song about lumberjacking to inspire us. Celia enflames her sword and tries running it through the vines, but it doesn't do much except release more disgusting pollen. Xorm drops his hatch and shoots acid at the tree; It does nothing but a mild sizzle. He tries again and his it with a decent amount of acid. It eats slowly at the bark. Glint joins and pokes at the tree with his shortsword and rapier. We do this for 20 minutes and the tree is about to fall. Drogard shoves the tree down across the vines. A large cloud of the pollen/spores is released. Drogard chokes on it a bit, but nothing happens to him. Celia made a bit of a mask from her dress and tries to cross the felled tree to use her burning hands to clear the next bit of vines not crushed by the fallen tree. She instead uses a firebolt to hit a little more of the vines. Xorm freezes some more of the vines in our path. Three undead connected to vines rise up to attack Celia and Xorm. They fight them off while standing on the fallen tree. They clear the path and Celia attemps to cross out of the vines, taking a hit from the undead. Xorm follows and the undead near him tripped and came undone from the vine, and then fell dead once again. We all dash across the gap. We see the Spire in the distance. There is a dark cloud above the Spire/Tower. The Spire is completely black, seemingly without any real details, Windows, or doors that we can see. Xorm and Celia call for a long rest. Xorm feels a lot clearer after the long rest. --- EXP: 600 --- Session 5 (31/01/2020) - (Howizter Missing) --------------------------------------------- There is a thin layer of snow on the ground that fell over the night and it's about -3c outside. The Spire's Tower is 1 hour away. The tower has no real windows and has a taper, then a flare that tapers to a point like a massive obelisk that is at least a mile tall. The top is surrounded by a dark cloud. We get close to the tower and there is a set of stairs with a long ramp leading up to it. At the end of the ramp is a small humanoid sitting on a stool. The tower supposedly belong to a great magical inventor (artificer) that lived 1000 years ago. He was trying to discover immortality, but didn't want to become a litch. He eventually become one as he ran out of time. He went crazy and built "The Spire". There have been adventuring parties to the tower, but none returned except those that ran off scared. It is made of obsidian. We head up the ramp for around 15 minutes. The thing we saw seems to be a hunched construct that looks like a gnome. Xorm can't read it's mind. Drogard touches it, and it's cold. It then stands up and shambles along to the door. We see some footprints in the obsidian, so it seems he has walked this path many times. We follow and the construct turns to face us and says "Entrance? Do you seek to see the master?". We say yes, and he pulls one of the doors open and says, "Enter then!". The construct closes the door behind us with a loud thud. Suddenly the torches in the room light once at a time and a hearth lights up on the side of the room. This seems to be a large guilded room with tables and chairs, like some sort of visitor's hall. There is a large spiral staircase leading up. There are many paintings of a gnomish inventor and everything is in good condition. As we walk around Xorm notices an oil lamp at a place setting that is shattered and sitting on the floor. Xorm also sees the pillows on the chairs in that section have seemingly been disturbed by other adventurers. Drogard heads up the stairs with Glint between his stride checking for traps and the party following. The next room up seems magically dark. The light from the stairs suddenly appears like a perfect line of darkness. Drogard lights a torch and it does nothing. Celia also isn't able to see with her darkvision. Drogard ties a rope and Glint ties himself to it. Misrielle and Xorm hold onto Drogard's rope and Celia goes alone. Glint asks if anyone can create magic lights. Celia can light candles and Misrielle creates a light, but it disappears almost immediately, but showed some effect. We all follow Drogard as he has a perfect memory of his steps. This seems to be a labyrinth in darkness. Drogard stumbles on a metal statue. He touches it and it is cold and doesn't seem to move. The statue is on a base and Drogard accidentally pushes a button on the base and the statue starts to come to life. Celia casts a firebolt in front oh her. It just poofs into the darkness and we hear it hit the wall. It doesn't seem to have travelled very far. Celia follows along by the sound of the party's footsteps. The statue seems to be lunging to the right or something over and over again. Drogard pushes the button again, and the statue turns off. We move to the right and run into a wooden box, which Drogard moves aside to our right. It feels quite heavy. Once moved it makes a click sound like it lowered down a bit. Drogard touches it and it seems it fell onto a pressure plate. We walk forward into a wall. We run into another box and Drogard feels around for a pressure plate but finds nothing. He shoves the box forward 5 feet, but it does nothing. He tries other spots, but it doesn't do anything. Celia runs into the first statue and feels it up, only noticing the button. She pushes the button and it sounds a little different than before. Celia finds another heavy wooden box, but it's a crate and nailed, not openable. Celia lights her longsword, and it creates no light. She tries to wedge her sword into the wooden box to pry it open. Drogard and the rest of the party move up and the wall feels cracked like it's been sealed closed, some sort of door. Drogard tries to pry open the wooden box with a crowbar after Glint asks what is inside. Inside the box is mostly empty, but there is a heavy metalic plate in the bottom. Celia continues to pry on her box with a dagger and notices the plate. She can't lift it and instead jumps in the crate and stomps the plate, throwing a tantrum. Drogard continues to move the box but finds no plate. Xorm drops the rope and starts searching around along the wall. He feels a torch along the wall, in a sconce. Xorm tries to pull on it and it does nothing. He tries to remove it from the sconce and it doesn't move. He tries to light it with his tinderbox. The torch lights and lights up the room for around 15 feet. Drogard instructs us to look for more torches. Misrielle runs off along the wall and finds another torch a ways away and lights it as well. We don't see her or the torch at all. Glint stays with Drogard. Celia pushes the box towards the staircase we came from to try and see what is in it. She doesn't do it very quickly. Drogard walks and steps on a pressure plate, which makes the statue stop. Glint climbs inside the box and grabs hold of it to be pulled back to the pressure plate by Drogard. Drogard pulls Glint and the Box 10 feet closer. Drogard pulls the box to the plate and Glint climbs out. Drogard drags Glint onward and we find another box. Xorm feels a small gap in the wall as he goes (https://i.imgur.com/JY3oT80.png). It seems to be a slot in the wall. He puts his rapier in and nothing seems to happen. He tries feeling with his hands instead and there is a small box with a lever and he pulls the lever. Upon pulling the lever the darkness starts to fade from the room and we all can see. The other torches in the room light as well. The floor plates look exactly the same as the floor unfortunately. The mechanical Gnome is the only one in the room. But he is sleeping right now. Xorm presses the button and the Gnome is pointing opposite to the door. We all start stepping around for more pressure plates. Drogard stands on another. Xorm pushes the button on the statue and it points to another plate. Misrielle starts looking for the last plate and runs across it. Glint attaches a rope to the box and pulls it towards Misrielle about 5 feet. The last box is shoved into place by Drogard. The "sealed door" slides open into slots in the walls. The Gnome Statue resets and points towards the door. There is an odd clicking noise, that may be a timer, coming from the statue as it turns. Xorm runs into the next room and sees a small fall with a wooden door. As the statue starts to move more, water is starting to fill up the room as we run out. Glint runs over to the door and pulls himself up, standing on the handle as he is afraid of drowning. Celia tries to press the button on the statue to stop the water, but it does nothing. They all start attacking the door. Glint jumps onto Drogard to not drown. Celia pulls the lever turning the lights off and the water still fills in, so she pulls it again and dashes towards the party. Drogard bashes a hole in the door and grabs the handle from the other side, which also doesn't turn. The team blasts the door and slashes it more until it's barely on the hinges. Misrielle gets the final blow. The water starts to get into that room, but there is a metal grate on the floor that the water flows into. We see a box with a lever attached in the new room. Misrielle heads in to the barely lit room and sees the lever and some stairs. Misrielle pulls the lever, stopping the water. The party heads up via the stairs. It takes a long seeming time to go up the stairs, about half a mile in stairs. Glint rode Drogard most of the way to keep up. We find another Gnome statue, but this one says "Oh, hello there!" and looks at us. It asks if we want to get through the doors and we need to answer 3 riddles to get through or die. Riddle One: "I have cities but no houses, forests but no trees, water but no fish. What am I?" Xorm answers, "A Map!". Celia is just chugging ale from her skin. Riddle Two: "Turn me on my side and I am everything. Cut me in half and I am nothing." Xorm Answers, "It's Eight!". Riddle Three: He pulls a lever and behind us the floor opens up. Three chests and you only can open one. All three are mislabed. One silver, one gold, one fifty-fifty. Glint solves the puzzle for the party and Drogard pulls the coin out of the 50/50 for Glint to correctly label them all and turn it in. The door opens and a new staircase appears. We start heading up the new stairs and we feel we are being watched and hear whispers, but see nothing. The next room seems to be empty other than another staircase. There are random bits and pieces like armor and swords. There are no bones. It's all rusty and dusty. The whispers are loud around the room, but nothing distinguishable. The room is decently lit with torches. Celia goes and starts digging through some of the stuff. A ghost rises up in front of Celia and grabs into her, and she is incapacitated, but aware, unable to control herself. This was visible to the party. Celia walks away and screams, "turn back and flee this place before it is too late". Xorm psychically attacks the ghost inside Celia. Misrielle casts Crown of Madness on Celia. Eventually after a fight the ghost leaves Celia to attack Xorm. Two more ghosts appear as well and Xorm starts psionically attacking them again. The party and the Ghosts fight. One of the ghosts touches Drogard, really hurting him. Celia has darkness on her and moves away to make the fight more visible to the party. Xorm takes a good amount of damage from the ghost that he has been damaging. Drogard takes another touch, taking massive damage. The other ghost tries to attack Drogard, but slips inside of him and ends up damaging itself. We slowly kill off the other ghosts with Misrielle healing up Drogard as he absorbs a lot of ghost touches. Drogard explodes one of the ghosts with an amazing hit. The other ghost touches Drogard so hard that he falls unconcious. Xorm attacks the ghost in retribution for Drogard. Glint and Celia join in to do same avengement damage. Drogard gets himself back up. The last ghost runs off to attack Glint, leaving Drogard a chance to attack it. Drogard smashes the ghost with his hammer, but it survives. It touches Glint, hurting him badly. Xorm tries to finish it off, but isn't successful. Misrielle heals up Drogard again and then plays a song to give everyone some temporary health. Glint stabs the ghost twice, killing it. We take a short rest on the stairs while Misrielle plays (Glint uses 2x Hit dice). Up the next stairs we find a laboratory with hundreds of beakers. This room is as large as the tower, with no walls. On the other side of the room, there is a desk and a nice looking chair with a Gnome skeleton on the chair and not moving. This room doesn't seem to have been disturbed in almost a century. There don't seem to be walls, we can see out and see the mountains and it's very bright in here. Celia starts randomly combining beakers on one of the tables. One reacts and smoke pours out. Celia inhales it and suddenly grows 2 new arms out of her chest that rip through her clothes (extra bonus action during combat). Celia grabs the smoking beaker and throws it towards Glint and Drogard with amazing accuracy while screaming "More Arms". Glint and Drogard sprout extra arms (extra bonus action) as well. Xorm reads the notes and they are about his repeated discoveries that were of no use to him. He didn't take notes on what specificallly are in the bottles. As time goes on, there are less notes and it's all less documented and more hectic. Xorm takes notes on potions he may find useful. Drogard pokes the skeleton in the chair, it reacts as expected. Xorm reads the notes on the desk. The Gnome started young and had a horrid master who killed his wife. The Gone Artificer wanted to live forever through arcanic ways to hunt down this wizard. Drogard searches for hidden stashes in the room and finds one of the tables rotates and reveals a secret staircase in the floor, going down. Drogard finds a small room with a few chests and a bookself. Celia collects 24 unknown vials from the table and drinks a random one and feels stronger (it was an orange potion and STR +1 Perm). Misrielle opens a chest and finds random items and a rare looking book that has a cat's paw marking on the front of it. She opens it up and a cat appears and rubs up against her legs. The book's pages are empty. The book slowly floats up, folds closed, and falls to the floor. The cat lays on the book and starts to nap on it. Misrielle touches the cat and pets it. She then picks up the cat and it starts to vanish and slowly disappears. Picking the book back up, she opens it again and the cat appears on the ground. She holds onto the book this time and the cat disappears. Glint opens a chest and finds a velvet pouch with a note attached. The note says, "To my son, the ever-mighty gambler". There is a silver coin in the bag. The coin seems to be perfectly normal. Glint flips the coin and it lands on heads 12 times in a row. Drogard opens the last chest and finds a few torches, a quill, ink, and a scroll. The scroll appears to be cut together from a bunch of other scrolls in some patchwork. There is a note on the front that says, "Read in case of emergency". It is tied with a red ribbon. Xorm checks the shelves and finds some books he likes. He finds a Looking Glass and looks at Glint through it and sees him as Empovrished and begging. Glint feels a flash of Xorm being afraid of the Elder-Brains. After the looting, the extra arms shrivel up and fall off of Drogard and Glint. Misrielle tries to write hello in the Tome, but it does nothing and the cat vanishes. Drogard finds another hidden room with some weapon racks in it covered by a sheet. Drogard tests the items. The sword he find shakes in his hand and then slowly slows down and stops shaking. Celia pushes the skeleton out of the chair and sits there. Xorm reads that the weird sword was for a champion to fight on behalf of the Artificer. The sword has great power and ferocity (+2 atk +2 damage, immedate second attack with no proficency bonus.) Misrielle finds a ring with inscriptions that nobody can read. Xorm remembers from the book, it's a ring that can help casting spells. This ring is inscribed with his own language and allows cantrips as bonus actions (that are non-damaging). Xorm finds an odd looking candle that won't catch fire when he tries to light it with his energy-beam and tinderbox. Drogard tries to light the candle with a match and Xorm notices that as soon as the match touches the wick the candle creats a dark flame that fills the room with darkness. Xorm blows the candle out. Glint opens the last chest that is full of valuables. There is a golden crown, 75pp worth of gold, and strange looking boots (green). Xorm identifies a blue potion that should grant a wish or does the exact opposite of the wish. Xorm drinks the potion and feels compelled to make a wish. He wishes for a weapon that can kill Elder-Brains in one hit. A weird ornate spike appears and Xorm picks it up. Drogard pulls a lever hidden under a table and a portal appears. He throws soap through the portal and it disappears. Drogard walks through the portal and ends up in front of the tower on the ramp. Celia swaps out some potions. We all head out front and then get let in by the Gnome to sleep inside, but Celia stays outside. We all have a long rest but Celia has a rough time. --- Exp: 1225 --- Session 6 (07/02/2020) - (Howizter Missing) --------------------------------------------- It's a little warmer today, but it's raining a bit and still stormy. Glint's dreams of waterfalls have come back. It seems dwarvish buildings with human buildings around. The visions place feels like it is calling. Xorm remembers that many dwarves live in Blackridge. We decide to head around the bottom of the mountains, with our goal being Blackridge. We walk for almost 3 days eastward, following a footpath through the mountains. There is an odd Tree with a body strung up on it that seems to have been skinned and beheaded (humanoid). Glint says, "I really don't understand modern art" as the rest of the party dicusses this being a bad omen. We are 120ft away from the body. Celia starts running towards the body. Xorm calls her a fool and tells her to come back, but she says it's already dead so it's alright. Within 20ft Celia sees a large pile of human hands (like 20 pairs) at the base of the tree. There are empty ropes on the tree from previous bodies. Celia climbs the tree and cuts down the body, and then the rest of the ropes. We approach and see the pile of hands. Xorm remembers stories of cannibals in the area and tells the party. Celia takes a hand and 25ft of rope. It's just above freezing so we make a small fire. Xorm watches as we sleep. We start heading Northeast again in the morning. We run across a clearing in the trees with a camp or small settlement to the North-East. Glint decides to scout it out and sneaks up closer to take a look. It's a few houses and a tent. There is an active campfire with 2 people at it. Another at the tent, and one running supplies (4, all humans, the woman at the tent has a knife, they all seem unarmed otherwise). They appear to be peasants. One building seems to be an Inn. Glint sneaks back to the party and explains what he saw. The party heads in on the road. The two guys at the fire welcome us. Celia talks to them and they say what's behind them is an Inn. Celia shows them the severed hand. Misrielle sneaks past and enters the Inn. There is an old woman behind the bar. Misrielle asks if there is a use for a travelling Bard. She is offered free drinks for her music, and she sets up in a corner. Celia buys enough ale to fill her waterskin again. Xorm talks to the two guys outside and asks about what is interesting in the area. They say there are Cannibals on the edge of the mountains to the northeast. Xorm then talks to the woman by the tent who is whittling away, but learns nothing interesting. Glint takes a look into the building where supplies were being moved from. It seems to be both a home and butcher shop. There is a butcher's table and hanging meat. Glint sneaks inside to take a look and notices that the butcher's station seems odd and there is a pair of human feet on the table. The rest of the party looks to buy supplies from the inn. Xorm pays 1gp for a mug of milk. The innkeep's hands really shake. Xorm calls this out and she says she's just really old. Glint throws all of the knives under the bed that he sees (a handful of them and a cleaver) and throws on a fake mustache. He pretends he was looking to buy salted meat and the guy grabs meat from the storeroom. Then he heads into the bushes to remove his overcoat and fake mustache. Celia calls out to Glint and the two guys at the fire offer to go find him in the bushes. Glint convinces them he was just taking a piss. Drogard starts asking the old woman about where they get supplies and starts buying rations. Misrielle is playing well in the corner on her Lute. Glint heads towards the bar. He tells Xorm they are Cannibals and to head back inside. Xorm goes to explore the rooms. He orders a large pitcher of Ale and pays 2sp for it. While she is getting it, Glint locks the door and Jams it with a dagger. Drogard notices this and stands in front to cover it. The old lady doesn't notice. Glint stands on the stool, and then jams his shortsword into her throat, killing her. The party gets upset and Glint explains, saying it's our duty to take care of the Cannibals. Xorm doesn't seem convinced that this is our issue. Xorm steals the keys from the Corpse, gets to a window and tell Celia. Celia moves up the Guards and starts chatting them up (Kaneesh and Beash). She offers to show them something cool and lights her sword on fire. They are distracted. Misrielle continues to play in the Tavern to keep up the guise of business as normal. Drogards gets the money back (14gp, 7sp and 4cp) and then moves back to the door. He then removes the dagger from the door and tosses it back to Glint. Celia uses thaumaturgy to make a very loud burg and then asks the guys to rate it as 1-10. Glint calls out to the guys, but they are distracted. Celia tells Kaneesh to head in and grab them a round of ale and he turns to do so. Xorm psychically attacks Beash, who suddenly gets a strong headache. Celia tries to calm down Beash as he's in pain and offers to nurse him a bit and gives him a back massage. Xorm asks if that was the signal to attack. Celia says she's trying to get one inside. Misrielle continues playing her Lute, but she is still a little nervous of the situation and misses a few notes. Kaneesh heads into the bar. Beash reels in pain from his head. Glint closes the door again and Drogard attacks Kaneesh with his Tremulous Longsword just as Kaneesh notices the dead old lady. Kaneesh is killed in one swing. Glint lifts and pushes the body over the bar in a strange feat of strength. But the head of Kaneesh is still on the floor Xorm attacks Beash again psychically, and he continues to writhe in pain. Celia tries to ask Beash why he is hanging out here, but with his brain-pain, he doesn't even respond. Celia continues the backrub. Misrielle continues jamming out and gets a little harder. Drogard tosses the head over the bar and then heads towards the tent to take out the lady there. The lady hears the head pained Beash and sees the Drogard covered in blood and decides to attack with her carving knife, landing a small stab on his thigh. The butcher comes out complaining about missing knives being hidden by a halfling and heads towards the tavern. Glint dashes out of the bar and guts the butcher with his shortsword and then backs off 10 feet. Celia runs her longsword through Beash's back, killing him. Drogard charges the Butcher, slipping and missing him completely and falls prone beside him. The butcher chops at Drogard's leg with a cleaver, leaving a gash. Glint hops up and smashes the Butcher on the head, incapacitating him. Celia hogties the butcher. Misrielle casts Cure Wounds on the tied up butcher, making him conscious again. She then uses a Healing Word to heal up Drogard. Drogard stands back up. Glint starts to interrogate the butcher and threatens to hang him from his entrails. He spills the beans about them hanging people from trees. Celia brings the feet over and shoves them in his mouth. He takes a bite and spits the chunks at Celia. Misrielle points a dagger at the butcher and asks if he has more friends. He says no. Celia threatens his genitals and he swears there is nobody else. Glint drags the butcher towards the trees. Xorm tries to kill him with his mind. Glint drags his limp ass over to the tree anyway and hangs him, pulling his entrails out for the dogs. Celia grabs the rations (including human meat) from the tavern. Drogard breaks into the middle building and finds a storeroom. He tosses the room. Drogard calls for Xorm to look at the strange preserved creature he found. Glint lights the butcher/storeroom on fire with his tinderbox after finding it full of preserved human meat. --- Drogard Loot: Necklace with Silver Beads an Four Animal Teeth of unknown origin (Xorm thinks they are lupine, likely from a wolf) Rosewood Pipe with a carved bowl in the shape of two cusped hands A Jar with a Fluid and some odd creature in it (Furry looking creature, that is rabbiteque and sized the same) Misrielle Loot: 15gp A Really Shiny Acorn (seems to be a polished knick-knack) A Journal that was barely written in (leather bound with goldren hinges inlaid) --- Glint overhears about the strange jar and says it's just like snake wine and someone should try a sip. Celia says she will but Drogard refuses to let her. Misrielle checks the tent. Drogard has Xorm try to identify the necklace, but he doesn't know anything about it. He says the teeth are likely from a wolf. We head back out towards Blackridge. The next day we see a small house near a creek. The trees seemed to have been cleared a bit here. The creek is 5ft wide and 1ft deep. There is smoke coming from the house. Glint applies his fake mustache disguise. There is a sign on the house. It has a bushel of purple grapes on it but no words. Drogard knocks on the door, and it creeps open. Xorm uses his magehand to open it and Drogard walks through. We don't see anyone and there are two locked doors. Celia tries to knock with her corpse hand to no answer. Glint picks the right door open. It's a study with a bookshelf and a bedroom. The bed isn't made and it looks like someone has been here. Glint goes behind the bar. We close the doors and leave as there isn't much to see and nobody in sight. We travel for another 3 days and as we sleep in camp (fire light), Xorm -- on his night watch -- overhears strange noises from the brush (rustling). He sees a figure in the bushes that seems to be able to stand on two feet, but also on four. A Medium sized creature. Xorm wakes everyone, but Celia ignores Xorm to stay asleep. Five Gnolls run out of the bushes, one larger than the others, and come to attack us. One of the Gnolls bites Celia, taking a small chunk out of her shoulder. Misrielle casts a Crown of Madness on the bigger Gnoll. Glint runs over to Celia and stabs the Gnoll attacking her with his shortsword. One of the Gnolls runs up and misses his attack on Glint. Celia runs off towards the Gnolls and burns all of them with her Burning Hands. She then casts Darkness on her backpack and then runs back a bit. The big one swings at her and misses. Drogard runs over to the Gnoll at Glint and swings at him, missing completely and smashing his blade into Glint who didn't even notice the swing. His second attack his the Gnoll though and then he knocks him prone. Xorm Ego Whips the Gnoll near Drogard. The large Gnoll heads towards where Celia moved to in the darkness after wildly swinging his sword due to the Crown of Madness. He seems to no longer be controlled and the Crown breaks. A Gnoll takes a swing at Glint and misses. Misrielle uses Hideos Laughter on the Gnoll approaching her and it falls prone in laughter. She then uses a Healing Word to heal up Glint. Glint takes two stabs at the Gnoll near him, missing with one and killing him with the other. Drogard's Gnoll gets back up and it hits him a little bit. Celia takes a swing at the big Gnoll but misses. She runs off and the big Gnoll takes a swing and misses. Drogard cuts down the Gnoll in front of him that had just hit him. His second attack lands on the other Gnoll, killing it as well. Xorm psychically attacks the big Gnoll, not doing much. It then starts to dash away. The other small Gnoll is still laughing and prone in front of Misrielle. Misrielle stabs the laughing Gnoll with her rapier, ending it's laughter, and it's life. Glint full sprints after the large Gnoll, closing the 75ft gap. Celia fires a firebolt at the large Gnoll and he doesn't look good after being singed. Drogard charges over and smashes the big boi Gnoll with his horns. The Gnoll Pack Leader dies on Drogard's horns. Xorm does a small hardstand to celebrate. --- Loot: Pouch with Humanoid bits in it 4x Gnoll Spears Leather Armor Pouch with a Neat Looking Rock in it (taken by Xorm) Bone Dice (taken by Glint) EXP: 200 (cannibals and Gnolls) --- We head out on a well travelled road and find a trail that has wagons travelling on it. We stay in the direction we are heading that has the wagon ruts on it (to the East). We reach another junction and continue to the North-East and camp on the side of the road. Xorm notices some smoke coming from the North-East down the road ahead of us. We are here: https://i.imgur.com/O3Ifze5.png There is a wagon coming down the road from the direction the smoke was in. Drogard hails the Dwarf in his cloth-covered, robust looking carriage. Drogard asks if the Dwarf can spare some rations. Celia offers to let Misrielle buy her human meat rations. The Dwarf says "**Beacon Springs**" is just down the road a ways, not even a day's travel. Xorm asks about any rumored Dwarven ruins in the area and the Dwarf knows of none. Celia lifts the cloth a bit and sees the wagon is full of building materials and the Dwarf yells at her to get away from the wagon. We continue down the road for another quarter day and find the edge of Beacon Springs. It's a dwarven town with no real wall, just a fence around the town. The town seems to hold around one thousand people. There is a lot of steam rising from the town and it's butted up against sheer rock faces with hot water running off of them into aquaducts. Glint says it looks like a vacation spot. Celia heads into the **Boar's Head Tavern**. It's an open deck tavern with a stone overhang and a large hotspring outside with Elves, Dwarves, Humans and Halflings in the spring. This is not a naked venue. Celia does heavy drinking at the bar. The party meets up at the **Boar's Head Tavern** and Drogard and Glint head into the hotspring. Xorm finds a local Dwarf who talks about legends of an ancient underground dwarven fortress that was used for blacksmithing. If you follow the water, you will get to it. The elves attacked the location, causing the hotsprings to flow again previously. Xorm asks about the ancient Dwarvish writing he has. The dwarf says to look for more ancient locations to cross-reference. Misrielle tries to pickup a gig in the tavern and she is offered a stage to perform at. She gets 15gp from the tavern and 2gp, 27sp, and 52cp from patrons. Celia gets drunk and starts hitting on a random patron. She is so drunk that she doesn't notice that it is Xorm she is trying her works on. When she goes to sit on him, he moves his leg away. Celia loses her balance and falls over on the couch. Celia meets some other Tieflings and they welcome her to their table. She struggles to stay conscious and then falls asleep. Xorm heads to the **Gold Pool Inn** and rents a 6 person room for 8gp. It has it's own private hotspring in the room and access to the golden pool outside. The room has 6 bed with privacy curtains. The place is percision made with granite and solid marble floors. Xorm orders up his 12 included tankards of their finest ale. Drogard grabs 2 tankards and heads off to the main golden pool. There are stairs heading down the mountain and apparently additional pools down there as well. There is a gold fountain in the center of the pool. Drogards checks out the private closed off pools (there are four and a larger one) that can be rented. None of the private pools are in use currently and the butler for them is napping. Misrielle plays her lute lightly at the table while the others lounge. The butler comes by with a food cart and the maid and him place table settings and server food on the main table. Celia finally wakes up to the smell of food. She doesn't feel well and has the spins. Celia drops trow and gets in the pool. Xorm mage-hands her some water, but she ignores it. Misrielle casts minor illusion to make it look like there are snakes in the water. Celia thinks they are real and tries to pet them, but her hand goes right through it so she gets sad. The meal is amazing and we all really enjoy it and our stay. Celia asks Glint for his hammer to see if it floats and he refuses. Misrielle calls Celia over and asks her to put on some clothes. Misrielle opens up the Cat Tome to amuse Celia. The cat gets out and goes to sleep on top of the tome. Celia tries to pick up the cat and book and the cat sleeps on it. Celia says, "kitty wants to swim" and Misrielle grabs the book back and closes it, causing the cat to vanish. Celia asks where the cat went and Misrielle says it went back to it's realm and that cats nor books don't want to go in the water. Drogard rests in the golden pool as the rest of us sleep and joins us later. --- EXP: 50 --- Session 7 (13/03/2020) - (Howizter Missing) --------------------------------------------- We wake up to a cart with breakfast on it outside the door and chow down. Celia goes down to the **Boar's Head Tavern** and grabs a morning pint. The party discusses plans and decides to skip the **Acient Dwarven Ruins near _Beacon Springs_** for now and head up the coast to take on the gangs. Celia is drunk. She approaches some of the meaner looking patrons and asks them if they like weapons. They don't seem impressed. Celia puts his arm around one and says that her friend Glint has a cool hammer they should check out. She gets shoved hardly by the man and goes flying, bumping her head. She runs back over, and tries to drink the man's beer out of spite. Misrielle tries to stop her and succeeds and pulling the glass away and putting it down. Misrielle puts her arm around Celia and mentions finding some chickens to pet. She then tells the man that Celia is special as an excuse. Celia blows smoke at the big guy and calls him a chicken, then spills his beer. There are 2 angry half-orcs in this tavern brawl. Glint is unseen as he is standing on the ground, obscured by the tables and he stays hidden. Drogard tries to persuade the half-orcs to stand down, but fails. Drogard grabs a mug and tries to smash it on one of them, but the attack is blocked and the mug just cracks. Our Mini-Minotaur smashes one of the angry patrons with his horns, knocking him prone and wounding him. Misrielle casts Hideous Laughter on the standing one and he falls to the ground laughing. Celia backs off a bit and the prone half-orc gets up and runs off to his room. The party makes their mistake with Glint following 15 feet behind until they get out of town. We take one of the branching trails towards the coasts. Travel is easy over the next few days as we pass through the trees and along the coast. There is no snow, but fog is on the mountains. We hear someone singing in the direction we are going. It's a bit rocky here with sparse outcroppings. Glint puts on a fake mustache as the party moves on down the road. There is a beautiful woman sitting on a flat stone on the left of the road while singing. Drogard and Celia get charmed by the singing woman, Misrielle doesn't. As Glint moves up Misrielle tells him that she thinks the "Beautiful Woman" is fake and may be an illusion. The two look at the woman again and notice she actually seems to be a bird woman: https://i.imgur.com/mvQjjYl.png **A HARPY!** It's an ambush! There are 4 other Harpies hanging out as well. The Harpies hit Drogard and Celia with clubs, but they don't seem to mind. Glint dashes quickly to catch up. Celia realizes the beautiful women are actually Harpies! She then uses her sorcery to quickly cast invisibility on herself. Drogard realizes the Harpy truth as well and then surges and attacks one of the Harpies twice. The first clips a wing off and the second attack is a quick stab to finish her off. Misrielle plays a song to entrall everyone with vigor and speed (temp hp and the ability to run to her). She then casts Bane and gets 2 of them scared. The first Harpy is enraged that Drogard say through her illusion and starts clawing Drogard, and two other follow along. The fourth one charges over to the Minotaur as well and claws at him as well. Glint tries to stab the Harpy but misses through the feathers and drops his dagger. He strikes true with his shortsword though and then backs back out. Celia casts Darkness on herself and then casts Burning Hands on the group of Harpies and Drogard. Drogard gets his Second Wind. One Harpy seems close to death. Two others are wounded, and one seems to be only scratched. Drogard stabs the weakest Harpy twice, killing her. Misrielle casts Thunderclap and hits two of them. The three Harpies start to run and fly into the air. Drogard swings on all of them as they flee, hitting each and wounding them. He manages to lop the head off of the third one. Glint runs up a bit, draws his shortbow, and kills one of thee fleeing bird-ladies. He then uses his dexterity to dash up to right behind the last Harpy that is 15ft in the air. Celia casts on the last one and kills it. Glint goes and picks up his dagger as Celia looks for loot, but finds none. Misrielle takes a Harpy feather and Celia asks why she did it. Misrielle responds that she took it as a token and it may be useful later. Celia chops off half an Harpy wing and throws it in her bag. The feathers stick out a bit. We take a short rest as Misrielle plays her Lyre and the rest of the day's travel is uneventful. We take our long rest and head further along the coast. We see a large ship heading into Blackridge. We eventually make it to the outskirts of **Blackridge** and reach the gate. The town looks a little more used and a tad run-down. The town has a mix of dwarven, elvish and human buildings. There is a large courtyard in town with a large capital building of some sort. Drogard leads as we wander around looking for the local barracks. They wear hide armour. The guard is sleeping on a stool and Drogard kicks the stool out from under him. Glint tries to play this off as Drogard being clumsy. He calls the other guards and they decide it's too much trouble. Celia casts suggestion on the guard and convinces him to fetch his boss. We follow to the large house in the centre and wait on the front porch. Glint studies the town and it seems a little bleak here with people just wandering without a purpose. The _"master"_ was busy but Glint asks about the Duskriders Clan/Gang and the guard says they attack the town. They find out Woodpine would be more likely to pay. They decide to check the local Tavern to see if someone there would be paying. The Party enters _**The Attractive Horn Inn**_. This place still seems to be in good shape and it has a golden sign that looks like a horn. There are two bartenders, one Female Elf who is busy and a well dressed silver haired man. Misrielle asks about room, board and Bard's work. He is politely snotty and says that they don't take street performers. He says two people can stay per room and they are 1gp each. We try to sneak Celia and Glint past as children but it doesn't work. We take 2 rooms and Celia takes 6gp worth of ale for the night. (#42 and #43. Left -> Basement -> Right Side). Misrielle rants about how snooty they are here, and bitches about the elves. Glint looks around for unsavoury people and Thieves's cant but finds none. Celia challenges a staff Bard to beat Misrielle and bets on it. Misrielle kills it on her performance and disgraces the Elf as she says, "I was just warming up, posh boy!" and starts playing even better. Her Lute starts glowing in the moonlight that leaks in from the window as he his the crescendo of her performance. The elf breaks a string as he tries too hard and runs off. Celia tries to retrieve her bet and gets 20gp for it. Misrielle gets 7gp as tips. Glint notices the Drummer knows Thieves's Cant. Glint runs over and finds that he is an information broker. He tips him 2gp. There are people afraid of the Duskriders. He'll give some locations for 75gp. Glint passes 7pp and 5gp. The drummer will visit room #43 with a map tonight and give us 3 locations. To the party, Glint asked a really weird set of questions, confusing Misrielle. Misrielle continues playing and takes 10gp in additional tips. Drogard takes Celia back to #42 and Glint and Misrielle take #43. 50 minutes later a different elf walks in to drop off a map. He tips 5gp "for his travels". Celia heads back to the guards and asks for the price on the Duskriders. He says nobody is allowed in. Drogard follows and watches from afar but Celia doesn't cause any trouble and backs off. Celia drinks a random potion from her pack, it is pink with glitter. She has two other similar ones in her pack, but they are slightly different shades of pink. She suddenly realizes she can see with True-Sight out to her normal vision range. Drogard finds some mercenary ships on the coast. There is an orc and minotaur ship and a nicer ship with humans on it. He doesn't recognize anything or anyone. He makes some small talk with the sailors (and specifically a sailing merchant) and brings up the Duskriders. The sailor says they have an army. Drogard helps to repair the ship and makes some coin. Celia pulls out another random potion, pretends to trip, and then splashes it on the Guard's face, hoping to get it in his mouth. The Guard says "easy there" as Celia falls, and he takes the potion to the face and open mouth. There are balls in this potion and now in his mouth. The balls in his mouth turn into snails and frogs. The guard pukes, freaks out, and then runs away. The other guard stares daggers at Celia, then looks scared and then away from Celia, trying not to make eye contact. She tries to convince the guard to check on his coworker, and succeeds. The guard runs off and she says she'll stand just inside and make sure nobody enters. Celia makes it inside. She tries to convince the interior guard that she is there because the Master is sick and manages to do it somehow. She is lead upstairs and there is a pair of other guards at the door. The guard she is lead by manages to get her in. This is the bedroom of the very fat Master that is contantly eating food in this room. He is currently eating a big stack of flat and fluffy looking cakes. He is seated at a dining table. He yells "what is the meaning of this!". Celia tries to lie and say the guards told her that she was asked to come and talk about taking out the Duskriders. The Master says this is ridiculous and orders both Celia and the guard who let her in to be arrested. He seems more upset he was distracted from eating that anything else and immediately goes back to perfecting his gluttony. As the guard is shackled, Celia spots one approaching her with binders and casts Invisibility on herself and dashes away. The master calls for the alarms to be sounded and the doors to be locked. Celia just makes it out before the door is locked. The guard at the door spots the door open and close. Around 6 hours pass. Celia is at the docks watching Drogard work and scrub the deck. As Celia was talking to Drogard on the edge of the ship, her eyes roll back and she falls unconcious into the water. Drogard retrieves her, turns her head to the side to drain the water and then gives her mouth to mouth until she is breathing clearly again. He turns to the officer and gets his 20gp of pay for the day. Celia is completely limp and unconcious, but still seems to be alive. Celia is dragged back to _**The Attractive Horn Inn**_ by Drogard, who explains what happened. Misrielle doesn't have any advice. Glint says to try slapping her and Drogard does, but she doesn't move. Drogard singles in on us needing a healer. Glint says to ask the Master in the big house. Misrielle says to check upstairs with the snobby elves. She seems very prejudiced against elves. Drogard drags Celia to the bar and inquires about healers with the silver-haired elf who is the inn-keeper. The party heads down the road to look for "Gertrude" the apothocary and healer. There is an older looking Female Gnome behind the desk and asks what we need. Drogard explains what is happening to Celia. Gertrude says that she drank a imperfect Potion of True-Sight and she'll wake up within the next half-day. Drogard pays her 25gp for the advice and then the party heads back to the Inn. Celia gains conciousness again and is exhausted. Celia tries to wake up Drogard and then he explains what happened and that he saved her life. He mentions the 25gp he spent and Celia hands him 45pp, but he says to hold onto it and just go back to sleep. Celia decides to go to the bar again, where she passes out. --- Exp: 500 --- Celia dreams of a "wonderful giant tongue".
