--- tags: DnD --- # WWM Sunday Party (The Coin) Session 1 - 25/08/2019 ------------------------- Graald, punches me in the face. I've been slaved for a few days. A cat is thrown towards me and attacks one of the 3 Orcs in the room (by a rogue). We kill the three Orcs and they chase after a woman who barged in. The cat kills the woman and 4 humans see this and attack (in another room). A tied up wizard and a book are in the room (corner). A Red Dragon Born (male) is bound and gagged in another corner. The woman had a procelin mask with a Black Spider on it. She is a minion of the Black Spider (Who is a Drow, she is drow too). Me and the Dragon were hired muscle for Mordacai while he was on the quest for the mages guild. In another room, Silk kills a rat. A man with a Glass Staff runs out and says we killed his rat. We knock the glaff staffed man out (broke his staff during the battle). Scortral knocked him out. We found an evil book and fought over it. Session 2 - 01/09/2019 (Amb0/Silk Missing) --------------------------------------------- (In the Redbrand Hideout we start). The Alien looking eyeball guy is stabbed and dead on the ground (from Glass-staff). The Cat (Kurious Page) has a weird looking amulet around her neck with the crest of Waterdeep. Kurious and Silk disappeared and left the party. Mordacai found a secret room and we went in it. Another secret door lead back out. Entire map: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/508384609264992266/617872651662262273/unknown.png We find a hidden armory that Kurious opens up with weapons and a red cloak. Lord Iarno Albrek is who we have tied up. Was given a book and then doesn't remember anything. Was given the book by a cloaked character. The character had a black spider on his cloak (a drow woman). Truth: --- Iarno Glassstaff Leader of the Redbrands and controlling the town by brute force. Was supposed to establish law by the mages. He instead went for power and wealth. The book was given by a drow woman with a cloak with a spider on it. He noticed the book could cast 9th level spells. Not the real version on the book, but powerful. Explodes if used incorrectly. --- Maybe: --- The woman says she works for the spider. Was told to bring a book to Glassstaff to arrange the hold on his town. Sent 3 bugbears. Black spider looking for Wave Echo Cave for the forge to fashion powerful magical items. Go to Thundertree and talk the Druid Raydoff. May know the location of Wave Echo Cave. The spider is also heading that way. Raydoff should be the only guy at Thundertree and is druid. Thundertree is near where the Neverwinter river enters the Neverwinter wood. 30 Years ago the erruption of the mountain devistated Thundertree. I know that after the erruption weird zombies and magic attacked. The zombies died but everything is mutated in the area from the magic. Nobody wants to enter the ruined village. --- We camp out close to the town of Phandalin (where the Redbrands have taken control). Kurious sneaks around to scout the Sleeping Giant where the Redbrand are supposed to be. It has some innocents and Rembrands appear to be in a room. Some may be hostages. It seems the prisoners are actually the Redbrands and the Fake Redbrands are the prisoners. The seem magically bound. Kurious finds a butcher room with a 300 pound man and 14 dead bodies. A woman is bound to a chair and he is sharpening a cleaver. Kurious attacks and her weapon fires a level 3 fireball. It incinerates the woman and damages her and the pig (half for her from dex save). We notice the wall explode on Sleeping Giant and run to help out as soon as we can. Pandjed kills a few outside with Fire Bolts (Redbrands), the civilians run, and Kurious Kills the giant Pig Man. We clean up the last of the Redbrands. The Dwarven Bartender cooks us a meal. Kurious went to talk to the people of the Orchard. The prisoners were left in Phandalin. Session 3 - 08/09/2019 (Amb0/Silk Missing) --------------------------------------------- We start to head to Waterdeep with the prisoners. I Find Steed'd a Celestial Dwarf Warhorse and name it Gary. (Additionally, if your steed has an Intelligence of 5 or less, its Intelligence becomes 6, and it gains the ability to understand one language of your choice that you speak.) We eat and take a long rest at the Inn. Mordacai and Pandjed eat the House Stew. Mordacai chokes on a bone, but Pandjed clears it for him. We reach Carnath Roadhouse. It's famous for being run by an Half-Orc named Bogluck. The cook is named Gristle Pete. It's a compound. Bogluck is a reformed member of the Cult of the Dragon. That cult killed Pandjed's mother. He grew up with a crazy man in the woods. Bogluck was there and attacked the Dragonborn in his family in a raid. He killed many dragonborn. The Cult of the Dragon used to be at the Well of Dragons (a Castle to the south where they intend to summon a dragon god, but aren't close to doing it). There's a Blue Dragonborn that the Cult of Dragon are looking for. They found him and he is to be sacrificed. The Lord's Alliance patrols the High Road we are taking (a militia formed by the surrounding cities in the area). We head through the mountains to Thornhold and we see the Castle and are stopped by a Dwarf wearing robes. He asks for news of Waterdeep. He says Goldenfields was attacked by Hill Giants. Adventures came in and burned down all of the fields. Many people were killed. It's Waterdeep's main farming towns (1/4 of their crops). Rumors say the Giants were there to steal food. We stay inside the walls of Stoneshaft Castle. Shambles runs off the cliff. All the Dwarves in the castle are Monastic. Mordacai had family in Goldenfields and wants up to detour after Waterdeep. The three of them smoke Cat-Weed and pet the dog. We wake up and Pandjed is handing on the tower's weathervane from his underwear! On the 5-day trip to Waterdeep we meet a Gnone shivering barefoot traveling the same way we are. He's been traveling from Neverwinter. He hasn't slept or eaten much. His name is Cecil. His eyes change color as he is getting on Kurious's Dog. He has Dragon like eyes. We get to Waterdeep and there is a Dwarf. Kurious realizes the Dwarf is actually the Gold Dragon she knows, but in disguise (Aradax, Baric Clinghammer in Dwarf form). Cecil knows this Dwarf/Dragon. The Gold Dragon Aradax is imporant in Waterdeep (has used Staff that allows a Dragon to enter Waterdeep). Mordacai and Kurious go to drop the book off in the Order of Mages and Protectors Vault. In there is a Beholder with a more human like appearance, nicknamed Mike. Ark-Mage Arkorious Stone-Marrow (Dwarf with a resting bitch face, Nicknamed Gargoyle because of her resting bitch-face), gives 5000gp to the party. Kurious Takes none. Mordacai takes 2500gp, Pandjed and I each take 1250. We give Glass-staff to Arkorious. A man with the title Cartiphile is looking for an adventuring party to follow a map that leads to the mountains to the far south. He is talking about a Wizard named Kwalish. He may have one of the books. He is dipping into Necromantic magic using powered armor that sucks the life-force out of the user. Mordacai is given a letter from his Father by the Ark-Mage. We go to the Angel's Respite Tavern in Troll Skull Alley (Kind of owned by Kurious). Session 4 - 15/09/2019 --------------------------------------------- Silk looks half dead and Kurious suggests we go to Chalt (Another Continent, 1.5months of travel away on the warship). Pandjed goes looking for a magic shop. The man offers him a Staff of Power for 1200gp and a favor at another date. A sketchy old man (Dr. Roudolf Van Richten) buys his way onto the warship with us. Kurious takes us to the Blackstaff (Vajra Safahr). The Blackstaff prepares a circle to TP us to Chalt as Silk would die before we made it. We teleport to Chalt (land of evil fucking lizards). We arrive in a pie shop. We are warned that there are 3 hags on the island. The party ended up in Port Nyanzaru. Session 5 - 22/09/2019 (BeyondPastel and mwagner91 are here) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Chalt is large jungle continent. It's very hot (above 100f, 38c) and humid. Blackstaff points us to Ifan Talroa (a merchant prince) who can sell some Dino-Mounts. Buy (+25% to cost): Waterskins x30: 60sp * 1.25 = 75sp Insect Salve (Gourd) (20 uses - 1gp)x2 = 2gp * 1.25 = 2.5gp Undrill Silvertusk and Chumba (goblin) interrupts and asks if we are leaving the city. She is from The Order of the Guantlet. She is on a mission from Waterdeep to get to Camp Vengeance to the South (Half-orc, with a goblin). Xandala Cimber runs into Pandjed and asks for us to look for Artus (her father). He is unable to be located by magic. Blackstaff had told Mordacai about Artus being trustworthy. He was last seen with a mute lizard man that smells funny, heading south. Artus was aloof and talking about a magic ring that talks to him before he went missing. Xandala tells only Pandjed and Mordacai that she is a Harper and so was Artus. He went AWOL and the ring can freeze the entire world. She makes Pandjed a conscripted Harper under her. She thinks Artus has become a traitor. Kurious snuck in and heard the conversation about the Harpers. She confronts the person from behind. Xandala whistles and a floating balloon ship appears with the sigil of the Cult of the Dragon on it. We board it (Mordacai, Kurious, Pandjed, and Scortral). Xandala is wounded and one of the minions in a mask is knocked out. Both are tied up. The airship is powered by a Fire Elemental that curious coaxed back into the furnace with wood. Pandjed finds a letter from a dragon (Klouth). The dragon cult is here to get the Ring of Winter from Artus Cimber. The dragon has a tracker on the ship. We think it's the pseudodragon that flew back so we portable hole it. We take off, I summon Gary on the ship. We try to land outside the city but Pterodactyls flock near our cloaked ship. We catch one in the rigging and Kurious puts it to sleep. Session 6 - 29/09/2019 --------------------------- The pterodactyl (pterafolk https://i.imgur.com/5UrUFGR.png) being invisible causes a frenzy among the flock and more fly into the rigging and then try to flee their friend. They speak common and attack us. Mordacai Fireballed the front rigging causing Scortral, Gary, and Van Richten fall off the boat. We meet back up at the airship that Mordacai landed being chased by undead. Scortral and Van Richten kill a giant undead Goro looking monkey motherfucker. We take a long rest on the airship. After conversation Scortral found out that Kurious was tossed off and parachuted and Pandjed jumped off the ship to catch his falling staff. Session 7 - 06/10/2019 --------------------------- Silk is missing from the ship. Mordacai tells us he left to find us before we found the ship. (Silk is visited by the Night Hags with the pie that Van Richten made as an offering to try and stave off his death-curse). (Silk sneaks on the ship without anyone knowing he was missing other than Mordacai and maybe Kurious). It's now 6-7am and we are waking up. Mordacai raises the 3 dead dragon cultists to repair the ship. We headed back to town to do a water landing. Pandjed sold the Pterafolk heads for 7gp each (4x). Mordacai, Silk, and Scortral left to try and sell the airship and find the Order of the Guantlet members we were supposed to give a ride to. Gary stayed on the ship to watch the 3 zombies guarding it with Van Richten. Kurious was asleep on her dog and Mordacai left a note letting her know about the zombies. We bring the merchant prince Ifan Talroa back to the airship and a odd coin (silver/chrome with a triceratops on it) is in front of it. Ifan says he can't make a deal and that we have a problem when he sees the coin. He tells us that the coin is from the Ytepka Society. Scortral knows that the coin is well crafted and ore extracted from stone. Scortral had heard rumors of the Ytepka Society and people barely getting away from them. They are a secret society under Port Nyanzaru. These coins/tokens on your door mean a mark for punishment on the person. The marked needs to figure out and correct the behavior. Persisting in offenses means they can punish with the Prince's permission. Murder allowed. Gary saw a Gold Dragonborn with White and Blue robes with Gold Wings walk up to the ship and place the coin. (Pandjed knows that the dragonborn aren't siding with the Cult of the Dragon). Undrill Silvertusk (Half-Orc) and Chumba (Goblin) show up at the ship and embark with us. Moe the zombie tosses Van Richten overboard to lesson the weight. Scortral asks to be tossed over and lands on Van Richten. He then throws Van Richten back up to the boat and then climbs up himself. Pandjed draws 2 new baloons and a funnel for the furnace (with his Marvelous Pigments that he bought in the port). We arrive at the gates of Camp Vengeance (where Undrill was looking to go to report to commander Breakbone as he is low on supplies). There are impaled undead humanoids all over the spikes of the fort and a pile burning. Mordacai, Pandjed, and Scortral all went to the Fort with Undrill and Chumba. The 2 undead without hammers in their faces come along but are forced to stay outside. Captain Firebeard (a dwarf) introduces himself to Scortral and says it's a grim situation. Commander Breakbone wants to speak to our party. Breakbone is leaning over a map of Chult with a few small paths marked on it but the rest is blank. He drafts us into the Order of the Gauntlet. Waves of undead, undead dinos, and frog creatures have been attacking the camp for 10 days. Silk checks the prisoners and the woman roped to the hammock has gotten her dagger and is trying to escape. Silk knocks her out and chains her up. Session 8 - 13/10/2019 --------------------------- Large 2-foot bipedal frogs have been attacking the camp. They have traps and ambushes in the jungle. Silk kills a frog that gets on the ship and throws a dagger into another that was kidnapping the still asleep Kurious, causing her to fall and waking her up. Pandjed draws a trap of oil barrels around the camp. We head back to the airship to bring it to the camp. A soldier named Ethan tells Scortral that morale is low as it seems that Commander Breakbone only cares about the war with the frogs. He believes the frog war was started by a misunderstanding that the commander took as an act of war. We walk in on Mordacai with a dead body and 2 frogs eating the dead prisoners. Pandjed rips the head off of one and Scortral knocks the other one out and ties it up. Kurious charms Xandala and Pandjed interrogates her. The red dragon Klouth built the airship and is attuned to the ship. Some non-magical attunement that lets him track it. Xandala was after Artus Cimber and the Ring of Winter. (Nat 20, she is not lying, but she may not be revealing everything). She got the Pseudodragon for a pet from her Grandmother. The Hags rip Silk's heart out in the jungle and put a new one in. They give him some white liquid to drink. He has one more session left. The Frog (Grung) wakes Scortral up and doesn't speak common, elvish, or dwarvish so he knocks it back out with his shield. Mordacai uses Comprehend Languages to understand the Grung but can't speak to it. It doesn't like humans, but wants to bring them back to the chieftain to call off the humans. The Grung wanted Kurious as they thought she could communicate with them as she wasn't human. Mordacai draws a frog on the map (Scortral's idea) and shows it to the Grung. The Grung pulls out blue paint and puts blue paint on Mordacai's forehead and face. This allows them to speak to eachother in Grung language. The plan is to get Captain Ord Firebeard on board and to come with us to negotiate with the Grung. This Grung's name is Hachtoo. Session 9 - 20/10/2019 --------------------------- We take Captain Firebeard (Scortral and Kurious) to the airship and Commander Breakbone interrupts us and tries to frame Kurious for stealing. Silks steals the items unseen before Kurious turns out her pockets. Breakbone leaves but threatens to shoot the ship down if it leaves with his Defense Captain. Firebeard talks to the frog through Mordacai and we find out that they have human captives. Scortral asks what happens if Breakbone disappears and Firebeard says a new commander would be voted by commity in Water-deep and sent over to replace him. Commander Bella Bronte left them for dead and ran off into the jungle after a "Ras Nsi". Kurious knows Ras Nsi created the undead. We walk to the Grung home and there is a big temple that looks like a frog. Mordacai and Hachtoo go in and have 30 minutes before we follow in after them. After 30 minutes Kurious casts messsage to ask if Mordacai is fine and hears back, "So far so good". The Grung Leader tells Mordacai that Breakbone killed all of the Grung children and cooked at ate their eggs. The two human captives are alive. One is being cooked. Mordacai convinces the Grung King to give us the captives to make a deal with the humans. He gets a Grung with the blue paint for negotiations. Mordacai tells us we need to guard the King during his weird God-sex rituals. A young Priestess (Red Grung named Krr’ook) pulls us aside and tells us that God-sex isn't normal. Offers magical paints as a reward for drawing a convincing represtentation of their god so he can boink that instead. God's name: Nuganog The Priestess gives Mordacai the paints and a ring that looks like a frog as an extra incentive (Ring of Jumping). Scortral and Mordacai eat a large stuffed centipede. Mordacai likes it and thinks it needs salt, but Scortral disliked the texture and throws it up. Kurious and Silk leave to go off into the woods as Silks "Needs to do a thing" (last day of treament for the death-curse). A giant frog-like creature appears during the ritual and eats the King. All of the Grung suddenly stop mid celebration. The god turns towards Mordacai. Session 10 - 27/10/2019 --------------------------- Kurious and Silk had their Hag Orgy. Silk tells Kurious about the stuff that happened so far (heart replacement). One hag throws a rock and knocks Kurious out. Silk is cured but the Hags seem to want Kurious and her fur. We fight the frog. Pandjed gets eaten. Mordacai teleports 100ft away to the shore of the lake. Pandjed uses Wall of Force to get vomitted back up (in a ball that is invisible). He runs away into the water (along the top of the water). Gary gets squeezed and goes poof. It attacks Scortral with it's tongue and he cuts it off (critical hit). Mordacai sets a wall of flame around it to roast it. Pandjed paralyzes the Froghemoth in the wall of Fire, and Scortral kills it with a Level 3 Divine Smite Crit (48 damage). He stabs it, and a flash of light appears from th wound. Scortral then pulls the blade upwards, creating a big cut. Scortral says, "It must have been a Kracken..." The King crawls out and runs through the wall of fire and burns. Krr’ook comes out and thanks us for stopping him. The froghemoth wasn't their God. We take a long rest in Mordacai's tiny hut. We take the 2 humans back to camp and Captain Firebeard gives us a nod of respect. (Captain Perne Selhana is the other captain). We meet with the Captains and Commander Breakbone in the Command tent. Scortral says Breakbone murdered the frog children and let's the Commander know we got 2 of his human prisoners back. While arguing with the Commander about him not helping in the battle, he suddenly foams at the mouth and falls over head. Likely poisoned. Scortral loots him and burns him on the pire after asking if the Captains knew what happened. Hundreds of undead are outside and we have few able bodies in the camp. A lich (Acererak https://i.imgur.com/tLnSRz5.png) appears in the middle of the camp where Kurious runs. Non-magical attacks do nothing to the Lich. He does a crazy attack and almost kills Kurious. Silk and Scortral take damage. Kurious is unconscious with 1 hit point left and was affected by a Necrosis curse not allowing her to be healed. Session 11 - 03/11/2019 --------------------------- Pandjed casts Darkness on the lich and the party's area (It's useless, he has true-sight). Silk stablizes Kurious with a Cigar and walks her out of the darkness. Gary is killed but Scortral gets away towards the airship. Silk is hit with a poison ray. Pandjed launches the lich with a wall of force out of the camp 92 ft. He immediately dimension doored back with his skelebud who dies. Kurious is talking to some figure in her coma who says she can give her the power to save the o. She appears angelic but with her good insight she sees her true demonic form. Kurious accepts the help. Scortral's sword turns into a Mace of Disruption (https://i.imgur.com/hUbZtRU.png) automatically attuned. Within 50ft of undead can dash as a bonus action. Skeleton goes boom in a radiant bone explosion under the blow from the mace. Scortral yeets Van Richten near Kurious and the airship. Pandjed gets Larry, Curly, and Moe to turn the ship and fires 3 balista bolts at Acererak (the lich) and pins him and his skelebud to the ground. Larry is incinerated as Acererak casts a 9th level fireball, that Mordacai fails to counter-spell, at the front of the airship. The front of the ship is gone as well as the hold in the front. A red dragon swoops from the west (should be there in 2 rounds). People are falling out of the airship. Mordacai casts Rope Trick and 8 people run up there. Silk throws a portable hole into a bag of holding to suck him and Acererak into the Astral Plane. Silk and Acererak are gone. The undead stay standing. This lifts the curses on Kurious and Pandjed and Kurious becomes concious again. Kurious calls to the Blackstaff saying Camp Vengeance is about to fall("As the Masked Lord, Kurious Page, I request your help. Camp Vengeance is under attack by an army of undead and a red dragon.") then heals herself. Blackstaff appears, sees the dragon and big hands come from the Earth and pull him down in, entombing him (until someone magically frees him) in the center of the camp. The skeletons and zombies run off. Scortral recalls Gary and starts to dig a hole where the portal was to find Silk, thinking he was pulled into the ground. Silk and Acererak are tumbling through a wormhole (the lich can't cast because of the world-wind) and fighting. Silk kills the lich. His body turns to dust, but his gear is left (cloak and staff). Silk gets a staff, cloak and round talisman. Two ships pull up to Silk on his rock in the astral plane. Hippo looking people are on the one ship (Giff). An evil organic looking ship full of Illithid (mind flayers) is the other. The Giff have seen Silk. The Giff tell Silk they are there to rescue him. He hops on the ship with them and is given a rifle to help shoot out (rifled musket). Kurious reaches out to Silk with sending and asks where he is. Silks says he is in a battle with an Illithid ship. Kurious sends another sending message and gets exact coords from Silk (who gets them from the Giff captain). A big arch-devil (Zariel) appears to Silk and yanks him and drops him on the airship. Zariel tells Kurious that she will be coming for her as her task was completed (Kurious still thinks this is her dead friend Serena). Scortral exclaims that the portal pulled Silk up and not down. Silk tells the party he killed the Lich and has a musket on him. The Commodore of the Giff ship died in Silk's arms. (The bag of holding was given by Van Richten to Silk and contained 100k gold which is now gone). Session 12 - 10/11/2019 --------------------------- Silk searches the Command tent and finds Breakbone's journal, sword, and wallet. He also takes the wine goblet and the bottle. Pandjed checks Xandala (the prisoner) and she survives. He tells her that the dragon is taken care of too. Kurious asks the Blackstaff about the evil omen coin we got. She takes the Blackstaff to Scortral who explains the coin is from the Ytepka Society. The Blackstaff says they are a vigilantee society. She also says they don't recall them, so it could be someone using an old one to scare us or a really serious thing. We should know the offense and if we don't correct it we will be killed or contacted if we have fixed it. Mordacai tells the Blackstaff about Artus Cimber and the Cult of the Dragon hunting him down with Xandala. The Blackstaff says there's a Ghost Village named Mbala you can get to by following the River Soshenstar south. Mordacai asks about a Sphere of Annihilation. The Ghoul bites on the wounded seemed to be coming from near Mbala and Orolunga, with more coming from near Orolunga as there are many undead there. Undrill says there is something going on with Mbala (the seat of a small kingdom). Everyone in Mbala seems to be dead. Nanny Pu'pu treated someone of Ghoul bites there. The wine wasn't poisoned (Blackstaff), nor the wine that was in it. The Goblet was designed to be always full, but doesn't seem to be cursed, but is not poisoned. It seems Commander Breakbone was not poisoned! (We burned his body though). Commander Bella Bronte is still missing and the Blackstaff also hasn't been able to devine her location, so something magical is going on. Blackstaff has sent people out to look for her like Artus Cimber (a team was lost around Fire-Finger) and many reports have been made on Mezro (location). Belle not found yet. Xandala is the illegitimate daughter of Artus Cimber. She is a Harper Agent but operating on her own. She was taken to Chult by Klouth saying he needs to Ring of Winter and given a ship and crew. Silks convinces Van Richten that he never gave him 100k GP. He deceives him and Van Richten calls him even for saving Silk's life. Silk waives his 20k GP. Van Richten promises to pay everyone else later as he doesn't have any money on him. Van Richten picks up a coin and then swings at Silk with his cane and misses. We all see this as it wasn't very sneaky. Silk picks Van Richten's pockets and finds a Soul-Coin but leaves it there. Silk read's the commander's journal. He was afraid of the Grung and terrified of them so he wanted them wiped out. He staged a false flag operation to mark the frogs for genocidal action. The logs say really poorly about Kurious saying she will steal everything. The last log shows that everything he ate or drank tasted like Ash which Silk recognizes from when he was in Hell. Van Richten asks what Silk is reading and he says it's porn and hands it to Mordacai. A drow poison called sun-death would cause the poisoning that Breakbone had. Eventually the body would have set on fire after death but we burned it before we would have seen. Silk let's Mordacai know though writing that Van Richten has a soul coin on him. Silk tells us about the Night hags and being cured by them. We ask the Blackstaff to detect if he is cursed. Silk has no soul. We are all told of the Soul Coin and we need to find out if Silk's soul is in there. We scrounge up 2 horses from the camp and take off on the 5 day trek to Mbala. As we walk we see 2 figures in the trees on day 2 (just ahead of us). We get a sent of ham strongly from the trees. It's Artus Cimber and Dragonbait (a green Saurel). The sword Dragonbait has Scortral really wants. It's a Holy Advenger. He has a red-white and blue shield in the form of a star. Scortral uses Divine Sense and realises there is some evil on his hands (the Ring of Winter maybe). Artus Cimber introduces himself and Dragonbait. The scent changes to baked bread and Dragonbait looks angry. Scortral comes out and says he likes Dragonbait's sword. He seems happy and we smell Ham, then lemon. Upon noticing Mordacai's undead the scent changes to Undead as well. Session 13 - 17/11/2019 (PushingDaisies absent) ---------------------------------------------------- We run into 10 Kamadan (https://i.imgur.com/CoSAj55.png). Kurious and Silk are nowhere to be seen. Artus and Dragonbait are still there. Silk appears behind Artus (he was waiting to remind him he was squishy if negotiations went wrong) whent he fight starts. Mordacai Hits the Kamadan with the Light of Dawn top get us started off. Artus freezes one with the Ring of Winter and smashes it. Pandjed disintegates one but his buddy puts him to sleep for it. Scortral Smites the cat who put Pandjed to sleep and kills it. Van Richten wakes up Pandjed with a slap. Artus seems hurt by the battle and the ring. We get near Mbala and there's a sheer cliff/plateau that could be climbed with 300ft of rope and a climbing kit. 1800ft heigh. 100ft below the lip of the plateau, we see an entrance, only big enough for a humanoid. It's a spiral staircase all the way up. Suddenly stone steps emerge. There is a wooden gateway at the top, mostly rotten away. Metal and skulls replace the wood. We climb the staircase and find what's left of Mbala. The only structure left is a small hut about 100yards SW of the gate. It's a thatch and hide hut stretched over the rib cage of a dead dino. Smoke comes from the hut and a hunched woman who is impossibly old and blind appears with paint on her face. Artus has some connection to this place and morns the dead. Scortral asks "How did they lug all these skulls up the stairs?" The party talks to the old Medicine Woman that is there and asks if she put the decorations up. There are winged creatures on the south side of the town that killed them all according to her. Nanny Pu'Pu https://i.imgur.com/oFJPtgt.png is the lady, we were told before. Scortral uses Divine Sense and detects she is evil. The winged creatures sound like Pterafolk. Mordacai detects that she is lying. Scortral swipes at her when she says she can run a ritual to bring back the dead, but misses. She reveals herself to be a Green Hag. Session 14 - 24/11/2019 ----------------------------- Silk's sword sparks right off of Nanny Pu'Pu's iron skin. Nanny Pu'Pu catches Kurious's arrows midflight and flings them back. She takes no physical damage, only radiant and necrotic so far. She moves and attempts to kidnap Van Richten. Pandjed Disintegrates Nanny Pu'Pu. Van Richten Casts greater restortation on Scortral which repairs his brain damage. Scortral explains to the party he had been hit in the head in his youth by a large piece of temple masonry locking him inside his own body. He was inpulse and stupid ever since. Van Richten doesn't know if this is a permanent fix. Artus says that the people here were all living at some point the last time he was here. There is a box full of frogs in the hut. Pandjed tries to talk to a frog and it slaps him. He tells it to make noised or he burns it and it croaks. Pandjed frees them. Mordacai realizes that these are actually people. There's a black icor in the tent too. The goo is demon icor. Pandjed finds a ladle, but doesn't attempt to store it. The mages know that a demon could be spawned from the ichor by a command by a hag for example. The hag seems to have been eating the people for the last 100 years. There is a cabinet of potions in the tent. Mordacai asks the cage for the command to spawn a demon. Scortral hears and attacks the cage, damaging it but not destroying it. We think there is gold or treasure stolen from the Mbala residents, but we don't look for it, thinking to come back after Orolunga. Artus says the soulmonger isn't likely in Orolunga. He says it is likely more south. Artus is going to Orolunga to talk to the ancient Guardian Naga there. He is trying to figure out what happed to the city of Mezro and his wife, which disappeared with her in it. Silks asks Artus for a map and directions. We now know the full map of Chult. Van Richten thinks the Naga could help us. After some arguing with Silk, we decide to head to Orolunga to see the Guardian Naga instead of directly to Omu where the soulmonger may be. The travel is uneventful. Scortral decides to walk, while the others get in a portable hole and Mordacai dimension doors up. They all end up on the other side. It didn't work. The rest of the party has to walk all the way around and back up the stairs. Walking up after 10feet there are many thorns. We'd take slashing damage to go up further. After attacking the thorns and temple, everyone starts seeing little creatures (Chwinga https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.d20.io/marketplace/373593/VUHIxlx6_NEiLEStbEzRoQ/max.png?1498569650&1504829642) and the floor and sky disappears. The thorns part for them when they run. They are a foot tall. The one that runs is holding an orange the purple orchid. There are thousands of flowers floating below the temple. They are growing on the underside of the Ziggurat. Silk tries to grab one and gets a blue one. It falls for a long time and disappears. He eventually grabs and orange and purple orchid. When Silk touches the flower he sees a vision of his life and selling his soul flashing before his eyes. He sees Kurious abandoning him and all the past mis-deads of his past party. Silks snaps out of the vision. Only Silk can now see the Chwinga. When he moves the thorns move out of his way. We all grab orchids. We all make it to the second level unharmed. Mordacai sees the next Chwinga and it has a red parrot feather and an orange and purple orchid. He looks around for a source of feathers. He finds a bird nest with 3 eggs and several feathers on many colors. Mordacai uses mage hand to move the nest towards him and holds it. Mordacai grabs a feather and then feels the letter burning in his pocket and gets a vision of him playing hide and seek with his family in Goldenfields. He sees time progress and sees his father missing a leg standing before a mass-grave in Goldenfields, with the grave of his Mother in sight. There are poisonous snakes lining the next bit. Pandjed sees a Chwinga grabbing a snake, hitting it on the head with a flower, tickling it with the feather, lying on his stomach with his mouth open, the snake crawling in, and then slithers up the stairs like a snake. Pandjed has a vision of his childhold and being told about the curse on his family. The have the curse because they once stood against the Dragon God Queen Tiamat and sent her to the nine hells. His family is marked and cursed since. His family was slaughtered by Dragon Cultists. He is being hunted buy Dragon Cultists. There are other dragonborn he needs to help stand up and smite Tiamat again. He also sees an image of himself hold the staff of power and he sees the transaction and favour. He is then disfigured with the remains of Kurious and throws them. He then sees the rest of the party dead at his feet. Silk is crucified on a stake. We all eat the snakes and follow. Silk and Mordacai take damage and can't move. They need to eat another snake to try again. They both make it through the second time (Mordacai feeling very _lucky_...). We all make it to the top. Artus and Dragonbait have been following with the party as well. We smell incense. He says to return Mezro and his wife Artus must face Ras Nsi who is in Omu. Ras Nsi has attempted an uprising before. Ubtao (a God of mazes) interrupted the last uprising causing Mezro to disappear. To see into Omu we'd need to climb the Peaks of Flame or fly an airship. There is an wrecked airship North of Orolonga that we could repair our ship with (Wreck of the Star Goddess). The Naga seers it and sees it caught in trees by it's rigging in 3 pieces. The Naga hears a voice from the ground calling up and asking for help. The Naga also suggests the Heart of Ubtao may help give us more info on the death curse. Mordacai asks why Camp Righteous would be attacked. The Naga says there is an old temple at Camp Righteous but there is nothing of value left there now. Scortral asks about Camp Vengeance. There is a treasure buried in the camp. The Naga senses it is still there. Silk asks if it is buried in the goat pen. The Naga gets angry. Mordacai sees the Naga is telling the truth. Pandjed get's some magic "insense" seeds and Mordacai takes some too. Van Richten didn't go up with us. Silk asks the Naga about freeing a Soul from a Soul Coin. Silk's Soul is whole still but owned by the sister hags who "saved him". Naga says there is a version of Silk running around Port Nyanzaru (a clone from the hags). They took his hair, skin and heart. Silk asks where his heart came from. It's a troll's heart. Silk can't die unless being burned. If beheaded his head would grow back. Mordacai asks about the coin given to us by the Ytepka Society. He says it was likely a ruse by a Merchant Prince (the one we did business with, Ifan Talroa). Scortral asks the Naga where Acererak's phylactery is. It is hidden in far away demi-plain. Silk asks about destroying the soulmonger. It's a big crystal cylinder immune to normal damage, but weak to radiant. Lava could maybe destroy it too. Mordacai asks about the staff and who's soul is in it. The Naga says the soul belongs to Acererak's long dead wife (possibly the archmage who owned the staff). Pandjed asks about the curse of his bloodline. The Naga says that in days to come Pandjed will need to be fixed to an alignment. Is he with the party or with himself. There will be a dragonborn of each chromatic colour brought in for a ritual to bring back Tiamat. Each cursed with the same affliction from a part of Tiamat's soul, such as Pandjed. Mordacai asks what happened in Goldenfields. The Naga says that a blue Dragonborn named Anizima was behind it (one with the soul fragment of Tiamat). He says she will find him in times to come. The Naga says they are trying to raise cash. They may be heading to get 3 artifact weapons from the mountain of White-pluum. They would probably be in Water-deep when we return. There may be a bomb on the Wreck of the Star Goddess (that is very powerful). It wouldn't destroy the soulmonger if dropped, but if we put it near it and set it off, it would destory it. --- The Naga Gives the following Charms: Scortral - Charm of Feather Falling (10 days) Silk - Charm of Restoration Pandjed - Charm of Restoration Mordacai Hedge: Charm of Heroism --- Artus will accompany us to Omu as we said it will be faster. We ride back to Camp Vengeance with no issues. Mordacai talks to Captain Firebeard about the treasure hidden underneath the camp and asks him what he knows. Firebeard admits the Order of the Gaunlet were sent to guard an artifact that was found and since they disturbed it the undead started attacking more severely. There are catacombs below Camp Vengeance. It's a big floating orb, with gold metal inlays, that glows blue. The last researchers sent to check it and their guards (6 researchers and 13 armed men) got ascended to become guardians. They are still down there. The entire camp reeks of evil. Below there is a hint of good. Scortral relays this. Mordacai casts Mage Armor on himself to prep. Session 16 - 08/12/2019 --------------------------- **Retcon of Kurious asking the Naga Questions:** Kurious asks the Naga about Commander Bella Bronte. He says he feels she has fallen to a state of ascension. The Naga asks if Kurious wants to know about her family. She says her family is safe and asks what the Naga means. The Naga says safe is a loose term in this situation. Kurious hits the bong of magic incense. Her eyes glow with a white light. Kurious sees a wedding. There is someone there that looks a lot like Mordacai but female. --- There's a trap door under the desk of the Former Commander Breakbone. We go under that and there's a small room with steel door in front of us. There are statues of hooded skeletons on each side. The left holds a heart and the right holds sythe. Mordacai knows this is a blood door. The door has runes that translate to: "an offering of those who must consent. A life of one to two. A way to enter, an offering must be made.". Mordacai knocks on the door and he gears grinding stone and the skeletons turn their heads. Kurious cuts her hand and feeds the blood to the offering plate of the left heart-skele. Scortral follows her lead and does the same to the right. Scortral tries to walk forward and the sythe guy attempts to hack his head off then freezes. Kurious moves through and nothing happens. Scortral does the shield limbo and walks through. Everyone else gets through fine. On the other side of the door there is a body with no head. They covered it with the stuff nearby. There is a weapon there clutched in his hands. There is a hallway but all the torches are burned out. Scortral hands out lengths of ropes attached to him. Kurious notices a trap that has already been activated and the stairs are a slide. There is a lot of blood on the ground. There is a trap. Silks jams four daggers into the seem of the floor. Scortral chisels out 7 bricks and tosses all of them on the blood on the floor. Around the weight of a person. We hear a click, all the daggers snap and the floor springs up and blocks the stairs. Spikes come up from the floor and there is a body manged in the spikes. 2/13 dead from the Order of the Gauntlet so far. Kurious lays out some wood on the spikes. Scortral stands on the wood and chisels out the stone and breaks the hinges. There is a mechanism in behind. Gary Trampling Charges the wall and poofs. The floor moves a bit, the the mechanism snaps and everything slides down the slope and smashes at the bottom. It seems to be 50ft down. We use rope to safely move down. There is a cave-in from our mess. Scortral starts to dig out the cave in with a greatsword. Pandjed, Mordacai and Silk help dig it out for 1.5hours until it's done. Mordacai and Scortral high-five! A voice whispers in our minds a poem about us being another invader and being insignificant. It threatens that we will ascend poetically and says our wish can save the world. We see the still waters with the partially build Ziggurat with a pyramid shape (https://i.imgur.com/UK5i8G5.png). There is a holy light from the ceiling, and magic infused butterflys floating around. Divine Sense says it's very evil. Kurious (and Scortral )knows the light is good, but the fountain is evil. The evil is coming from the floating object. There are no other rooms. Where are the eleven others? Scortral walks towards the water. The water is solid and you can walk on it. Scortral prays for Berronar to give him strength to destroy the evil pyramid. Pandjed hears a call in his head to release a creature from his prision. He is offered power. He tells us there is something evil in there asking to free him in his mind. Pandjed asks it how he would free it. The top four faces disappear when Scortral touches it and there are the same particles as the butterflies. There is a pillow inside with an eye on it. It seems to be the eyeball of some living creature. It is cloudy and decaying. It seems to be eminating evil. It is green and catlike. There are paintings on the wall that seem to be the missing members. Scortral asks if anyone has a sharp magical weapon to try and stab the eyeball. Pandjed stares blankly. He sees a vision of disintegating Silk and Kurious killing him. Pandjed's eyes turn black. Scortral smashes the eyeball with his Mace of Disruption. A forcefield prevents the hammer from smashing it. Two green figures come out of the paintings. There are 14 more paintings. The figures give Scortral an approving nod but seem to not want him to hit the eye again. They seem to be celestial. They seem to be stopping something from coming towards the eye. Kurious sees that the Celestials (Planetar) are looking directly into the center of the party (where Pandjed is). She also sees that both his eyes are now black. Kurious attempts to polymorph Pandjed but he counter-spells it after failing. Pandjed attacks Kurious with his Fire Breath, but she saves and only gets a little singed. Pandjed attempts to Dimension door away to the other side of the room and Mordacai counter-spells it. Pandjed moves closer to the eye, and Kurious strikes out with her Karayom and hits him. Mordacai puts a Wall of Fire around Pandjed so he can't easily move. Scortral is unable to see through the fire, but the Planetars fly into the fire and slash him with their greatswords, emitting radiant light and greatly damaging Pandjed. Pandjed inhales the flames from the Wall of Fire and seems to heal a bit. Silk throws daggers when he appears and Kurious attemps to polymorph Pandjed, and he counter-spells. Mordacai counter-spells the counter-spell and Pandjed is transformed into a pig. Pig-Jed moves towards the fountain and gets hit by the Planetars, losing his pig form. Pandjed reaches and grabs the Eye of Vecna, cuts out his own eye and puts it in. If he is apart from the Eye, he is weaker. He gains +1 AC while attuned. He has +10ft speed while attuned. Session 17 - 15/12/2019 --------------------------- Mordacai casts Dawn on the room, and shapes it to avoid the party. Scortral misses Pandjed and fumbles his Mace of Disruption. He can't seem to hit his friend. Silk stabs Pandjed 2 times, dealing 71 damage on his exceptional sneak attack! Kurious (DM Controlled) heals Scortral and Inspires Mordacai. Pandjed Dimension Doors and appears behind Mordacai. Pandjed attempts to Disintegrate Artus Cimber, but Mordacai Counter-Spells it. Dawn hurts Pandjed again. Van Richten stabs Pandjed with his cane-sword. Artus stabs Pandjed with his bookmark dagger. A Planetar picks up and drops Scortral at Pandjed and tosses him his sword. The greatsword has a gold hilt. Silk stabs Pandjed again. Kurious (DM controlled) runs up and stabs Pandjed with her shortsword, knocking him out. The Planetars pick up Pandjed and pull him apart. They fly up where we cannot reach him. Mordacai keeps Dawn up and Scortral cheers on the Planetar to remove the eye. Some woman comes from behind and banishes Mordacai (only Silk notices her -- Sherivania Alditanorei). She pulls out a shotgun and points it at Silk. Mordacai is banished to an empty space with a paved ground and a building (It's a starbucks full of hipsters and a annoyed and bored looking Barista). He orders a coffee. The woman tries to run past us and Silk tackles her to the ground. She shoots Silk with her shotgun, but she misses. Scortral smashes her on the ground with his loaned Greatsword, dealing massive damage as she was defenseless. She is unconscious. Scortral starts tieing her up and Silk finishes it and then loots her. --- Sherivania Alditanorei's Loot: Spellbook 6 Black Dragon teeth Half plate of Black Dragon Scale Armor Half Dragon Horn 1 Black Dragon Eye 1 Signal Whistle 17 Potions of Healing Honor's Last Stand (Bearing the Crest of the Platinum Dragon Bahamut) Shotgun (with runes for Arcane Focus) --- Pandjed is ripped in half by the Planetars. Silk gives Mordacai the Staff of Power and the Robe of the Archmagi. The missing people are all pictures on the walls. Commander Bella Bronte is not here. Van Richten brings up taking the eye with us so Acererak doesn't come and get it. The party fights over the decision, Scortral wanting to carry the burden, Van Richten nominating Silk. Scortral prays to Berronar about the eye, and recieves a good feeling from his God. He immediately goes and picks up the eye. Scortral draws a bag necklace with Berronar's symbol on each side and puts the eye on it (using the Marvelous Pigments that Silk had from Pandjed). He wears it under his armor to keep it hidden. We told Camp Vengeance that the evil was dealt with but the ascended soliders are unable to be freed. We take off on the airship for the Star Goddess. We give the Blackstaff the Eye of Vecna and she will lock it in her personal tower so nobody sees it again. The Blackstaff doesn't know of Sherivania Alditanorei or he Arcane Focus Shotgun. The Blackstaff also takes Acererak's staff. Mordacai traps Pandjed's Soul in a Soul Cage to stops it from going to the Soul-monger. Session 18 - 05/01/2020 (Patriarch is out and returns at 9:00pm EST) --------------------------------------------------------------------- We arrive at the ship broken into 3 chunks. The stern in 50 feet about the ground. The middle 65 feet up. The bow is 75 feet in the air. The rigging is holding it up, the balloon scredded. There are people on the ship, saying they were attacked by a flock of pterafolk. Kurious offers to help if they say please. But the original crew should be dead. Kurious throws down a rope ladder and Scortral tries to sense if they are evil and smells death from the direction of the people. The one in the middle is undead. Scortral points out the middle one is dead to the first that comes up (Brax). Brax says Saselandra is not dead. The middle one comes up third, not breathing. She says she is not undead, she pulls a rat out of her bag, it is skeletal and eminating the stench of death. They seem to be native to Chult but the Armor doesn't seem to belong to them. Kurious asks Saselandra to indentify with one of the codes of The Order Of the Gaunlet. Saselandra tries to skip the test saying she feels ill and needs to lay down to remember. Saselandra says "To Smite All Evil" is the code and Kurious says that's too easy, she then gives an incorrect code. Kurious signals the readied and hidden Silk to attack. Silk kills Saselandra. She says something about getting the Gorillians (four armed Gorillas). The group on the ship is scared. One pisses himself. They say they are locals. Silks threatens them and they hand over a large chest. They don't have the key. They have been stealing the supplies that fell to the jungle floor. Food, supplies and weapons. One of the men breaks into tears, they seem to be telling the truth. Kurious unlocks the chest and opens it. Inside is a black egg that seems to have all of time and space inside of it, with a key slot in the center. There is what seems to be a five-minute timer on it. There is a whirring noise coming from inside it, but the time isn't counting down. Kurious uses "Detect Magic" on the bomb and finds out it is an item containing the power of around 1000 magic missles. Kurious disposes of the rat by throwing it off. Scortral notices a ring of keys in his pocket, with 22 keys on it and shows it to the party. Van Richten pushes one off the edge and Kurious tells the others to run. Silk pushes Saselandra's body off too. The falling body of Saselandra hits a rope holding up part of the Wreck of the Star Goddess starting a chain reaction destroying the Wreck. We head to Omu with the Stealth mode of the Airship on. The stealth works after the repairs and we make it to Omu. (Map of Omu: https://i.imgur.com/21HFkZS.png) The Tomb of the Nine Gods lies somewhere in this maze of a city. The city is fairly overgrown and we can't see if there are people here, but there is nobody on the main streets. There seems to be nine shrines around the city. Van Richten thinks the actual Temple of the Nine Gods is underneath the city of Omu. We try to park the Airship over the lava lake, above the Shrine of the Serpent Trickster (Moa). (Plan of movement: https://i.imgur.com/pKV7S7i.png) The building we see is overgrown with palm trees, with carved serpents all over the entrance. Silk moves up and is instantly attacked by large serpents (four Jaculi). The Jaculi are 15 foot long snakes with horns all over their heads. Silk is alert and doesn't get ambushed, instead dodging and the battle starts. Silk stabs one a few times, killing it. Kurious shoots 2 other snakes, killing them and Bardicly Inspires silk. Mordacai burns the last Jaculi and Scortral drops his Celestial Greatsword on it, killing it. The walls of the corridor have arrow slits in them, covered with cobwebs. There is a plaque in old-Omuan: "Moa teaches us that secrets hide the truth. Explorers must head this message to find the shrine's puzzle cube." There is a pit trap that could be sealed with an Arcane lock spell that said. Scortral asks Kurious for some spare boat-wood and puts it across the trap, then runs and long-jumps past the trap. He falls into another trap, but catches the arrow slit on the left. There is green slime at the bottom of the pit. There is a stone cube on a stone pedestal. There are 6 crossbow holding statues pointed at the stone cube. There is a carving of Moa fighting a Su-Monster (https://i.imgur.com/90YY8TI.png) called Wongo. Another message is revealed in Old-Omuan by Mordacai's magehand disturbing the moss: "Death rewards a theif decieved. Truth comes from the serpent's mouth." The floor says Moa upheld the truth of Ubtao and betrayed Wongo's trust. Scortral kicks the next tile and it falls in as well. It was a 15 foot long pit. Through the arrow slits there are statues on either side that Scortral sees. Scortral ties a rope to a javelin and wedges it in the arrow slit, then ties himself an arrest rope to stop the fall from it and climbs to the next arrow slit and then up onto the actual floor. Scortral ties a tope to a statue and tosses it across with a javelin, Mordacai ties it up and Scortral crosses using the rope and the arrow slits. Scortral notices a beheaded statues on the left and a statue with a head and also another cube in it's mouth on the right. Session 19 - 12/01/2020 (ITGH Forgot about the time change and missed 30 mins) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The party returned to the airship from the Shrine of Moa, Scortral was exhausted from the traps and doesn't remember anything beyond that. The party got the puzzle cube from this shrine (Moa's Puzzle Cube) The party decides to start looking through the shrines first before searching for the hidden Temple. Kurious asks Artus for his opinion and he says we shall split up, him and Dragonbait searching separately. He passes Kurious a Sending Stone to communicate. We head near the entrance of the city. There is a guardhouse here and a massive gargoyle on the cliff. The guardhouse is full of grass and vines at this point. --- There is grafitti here that reads: - "Fear the fangs of Ras Nsi!" - "Erik, I've gone in search of the nine shrines. V." - "The puzzle cubes are the key." - "Beware the frog monster!" - "Who is Unkh?" - "All hail the King of Feathers!" - "The snakes are not what they seem." - "Kubazan = bravery. Shagambi = wisdom. Moa = ? --- Mordacai knows that most of the tales of these Nine Trickster Gods died with the old Omuans. Scortral knows the puzzle cube is very old but not much more. Marching Order: Silk -> Scortral -> Mordacai -> Kurious -> Van Richten There are weird small creatures around the town as we move. We've seen near 30 following along with us. When we reach the buildings, they are gone. (Vegepygmy: https://i.imgur.com/NvaSIcU.png). We take the raised road as we go. We see fresh corpses being torn apart by wild dogs in the compound. They seem to be snake-like and humanoid, with two different factions. One faction is in red, the rest seem to be Yuan-Ti. Mordacai makes some noises with prestidigitation to scare the dogs (over their heads). They look directly up and he casts again to make them run past us through the road. 6 dogs run past, one dog sees Scortral, who clanks his shield loudly and scares off the dog. The compound has smoking piles of bodies. It looks like the Yuan-Ti piled up bodies into Pyres. There is a snake in a spiral, with a circle in it's jaws. There's a humanoid against a pile of bodies who seems to be alive (https://i.imgur.com/hJd7Bvv.png), wearing red robes. Kurious uses her Hearling Word to help him. The man is in his early forties. He asks for water and Scortral throws him a skin. He introduces himself as Orvex Ocrammas. He asks for time to rest. He says he was employed with those who held this place. The Yuan-Ti took it and they fought back. Orvex asks for food and Scortral gives him some hardtack and he passes out eating it. The Vegepygmy come by as we watch over him, Kurious playing music to help him rest and heal. One Vegepygmy comes in and sits down in front of Kurious as she plays. She offers it some fruit. It sits and nibbles while looking at Kurious. Kurious introduces herself to the Vegepygmy and asks for it's name, then it turns around and waves 30 of the Vegepygmy in. She starts handing out fruit from a barrel and introducing herself. The Vegepygmy climb into the barrel (they are all about 6" tall). After 8 hours, it's near nightfall and Orvex wakes up and stands up. He was brought in as a mercenary for some "Red Wizards of Thay. Scortral asks why he was hired in his condition. Orvex lived in Omu and he knows the Entrance to the temple and of the puzzle cubes. Both the Red Wizards of Thay and the Yuan-Ti are out looking for the Puzzle Cubes. Orvex explains the Legend of the Nine Gods (https://pastebin.com/eeDbjzvD) The sending stone lights up and alerts us of Red Wizards and Artus tells us to be on the lookout. --- Probably correct: Good Gods: Moa, Kubazan Neutral: Obo'laka, Shagambi, Unkh, Evil: I'jin, Nangna, Wongo, Papazotl --- Kurious feels he is telling the truth. Orvex tells of two possible locations. We head East to find the Shrine the Red Wizards of Thay headed to. As Kurious leaves the Vegepygmy follows. She feeds them small fruit and grapes as we go. We run into a 5-foot obstacle, we head over it. We see statues of Kamadan, this must be the Shrine of Shagambi. Orvex reads the old Omuan: "Shagambi teaches us to fight evil with honor". There are humanoid bootprints around. Scotral tries to open the 600lb door. Gary assists and they get it open. There are four statues inside, it looks like each should hold a spear. There is a gladiator pit in the floor with bars covering it. There are stairs leading down. Silk heads in, checking for traps with Kurious and Scortral following. There is a pedestal with a hatch in the top, and a puzzle cube inside. It is trapped. There are gas nozzles around the temples in the walls. The hatch is the trigger. There are dead red wizards at the bottom of the gladiator pit. Scortral ties off a rope and heads down into the pit a bit. There are barred doors on either side. On the left it goes down to an Armory. The Red Wizards were stabbed to death with spears. The rope passes through the bar, and it says "Once you have entered the Arena, it is dishorable to leave. Fight to your death Dwarf". Clay-like spear creatures (Clay Gladiators) march down the hall and enter the pit. Silk tries to shoot his shortbow and it magically ricohets off. Scortral misses his first swing, and lops off a bunch of clay with the second. The forcefield stops all hostile magic. Kurious casts Haste on Scortral. Scortral takes many attacks from the Clay Gladiators, hitting hit badly (half HP). Silk finds the iron gate and stairs to get down. He pulls a lever and one of the Gladiators turns towards him as the bars drop. Silks throws a dagger at the Clay Gladiator and it falls in the centre of the room. Scortral takes 2 swings and cuts the gladiator in half, it falls to pieces. Mordacai runs down closer to the fight. Kurious heals Scortral. The Clay Gladiators attack Scortral again, beating him up. Scortral intentionally takes the last hit from the Clay Gladiator that would have glanced and drops a Beacon of Hope on himself, healing fully. Scortral misses 2 times on the next Clay Gladiator, then lops a little clay off with a Radiant flash on the third strike. Mordacai blasts all of the Clay Gladiators with a fireball, making them very hot. Silks slashes the one in the door 2 times, hitting with the first, missing with the second. A Clay Gladiator bashes Silk prone and stabs him on the ground. Scortral gets hit again by the Clay Gladiators that have flanked him. Kurious sees him get hit and heals him up again. Gary is attacked by Kamadan's outside. Scortral alerts the party to the sneak attack as Gary poofs on death. Kurious tries to pretend to be a Kamadan with some socks as snakes. Scortral destroys 2 Clay Gladiators and runs to Silk. The third construct bashes him as he leaves, but Scortral barely avoids his bash with Kurious's Bardic Inspiration. Scortral heals up the wounded Silk with his hands. Mordacai flubs a firebolt at the last Clay Gladiator. Kurious runs back to the party and inspires Scortral again. The last Gladiator tries to retaliate against Mordacai but misses all three of it's attacks. The Kamadans start heading down the stairs. Scortral destroys the last Clay Gladiator and heads out into the hall infront of Kurious to defend her. Kurious pushes herself as the Kamadans approach and fires 3 shots, that kill the first one immediately. Kurious runs all the way back to the party in the pit as the second, now surprised, kamadan growls at her. Scortral Runs up, crits the last Kamadan and instantly kills it. There is snap of the hatch unlocking up top and Silk retrieves the Puzzle Cube of Shagambi (https://i.imgur.com/Y48ST9z.png). Note: Beacon of Hope was totally incorrect, and that was ITGH's bad. Math'd out we would have barely eeked by so Scortral's HP was knocked back to 1hp to make up for the mistake. Session 20 - 26/01/2020 (PushingDaisies is missing) ----------------------------------------------------- It seems to be bordering on dusk and is night time. We move inside another building and there is a statue of a person, frozen in ash. The were cowering in fear as if someone burst through the door. Mordacai sets up a Tiny Hut inside the house, and Silk cooks up some grub, making some pork for us from food in Kurious's stores. It's a little bland, but good. We take a long rest, but there is an annoying monkey outside the hut which annoys Mordacai as he keeps watch for a bit. He trades off with Silk so he can get a rest. Scortral snores in his sleep. Silk sneaks out to scout around to make sure we are safe. Silk sees nothing but mist (but something does spot him). He hears a thudding set of boats moving in front of him. The boot steps seems to be getting closer. Silk retreats to the hut, but still hears the clodding on the floor of the building, but he sees nothing. The fire inside the hut flickers out. The fires in the hut reingnite and written on the walls of the house we are in, in blood, "I will be watching you... in this land, and the next." Silk thinks this is Strahd. The rest of the night is uneventful, but in the morning the bloody message is gone. Scortral wakes up and bring Gary back. We hear more footsteps outside of the hut and getting close to the door. It sounds like something shambling. Orvex appears and asks us to follow. Van Richten wants us to follow him. Silk bitches at Van Richten, who then "sets some ground rules". They argue as Silk doesn't feel saved as he feeled betrayed by the stuff with the hags. Silk tells Van Richten that Strahd is still alive and he thinks that Van Richten knew and didn't tell him. We enter a few random houses looking for more shrines. We cross the road to the second shrine Orvex had mentioned and go around the walled compound. We reach the shrine. This one seems to be a pond of murky water before the shrine. There are broken rope bridges to cross the pond. There is a stone statue of a frog in the water and bits of another broken stone monolith. The statue is similar to the statues of the frog god that we had seen before (Kubazan the Froghemoth). Silks sees a stone key on the tongue of the frog statue and asks Mordacai to Magehand it over to him. Mordacai crosses onto the rickety rope bridge that is in the pond. Mordacai and Silk see three beady little eyes in the water looking up at Mordacai on the bridge. As Mordacai starts to step back, a tentacle rises from the water to grab Mordacai. Mordacai screams, "Ah! Frog monster!". Silks tries to throw a dagger at the froghemoth and hit it, but it doesn't hurt the froghemoth much. The tentacle wraps up Mordacai, who screams out in pain as it grabs him. We can only see the tentacle right now. Silk chops the tentacle, severing it from the froghemoth. Mordacai falls back onto the rope bridge, wriggling while stuck within the tentacle while prone on the ground. Mordacai fires a firebolt while downed. Two more tentacles rise, trying to grab Scortral and Kurious. The tentacles are too slippery and don't manage to grab either. The froghemoth's tongue comes out and tries to grab Mordacai's chest. Silk jumps in front and gets grabbed by the tongue instead, knocking Mordacai aside. The froghemoth pulls Silk in, bites at him, and then swallows him. Scortral uses his greatsword to lop off the tentacle near him and the rest recoils. Gary hops into the water, and Scortral walks out onto him and then chops at the water where the froghemoth should be, killing it with a flash of radiant. The monstrosity's mouth is filling up with water, but Silk swims out. There is a 6foot edge to get up to get back out, but Silk easily hops up onto a stone piece easily. Silk grabs the key from the statue's mouth and jumps across to the shore with a quick flip for style. Scortral ties a rope to Gary, climbs up the all, and then pulls Gary up to safety using the corner of the wall. Silk heads towards the door of the shrine with his new stone key. "Kubazan urges us to tread without fear and to give back as much as we take" is what Orvex says. There is a spike pit inside the shrine and another stone cube. There are 4-foot gapped boards. Silk just easily runs around the shrine across the boards with his amazing acrobatic skills. It seems the cube will need to be swapped with something of equal weight in order to not trigger a trap. There doesn't seem to be a way of disarming the trap that Silk can see. Scortral thinks of the tentacle that Mordacai has and mentions using it to swap. Intead Silk swaps a ten pound bag of flour from Kurious's stores for the cube and successfully gets out with the cube. There is the sound of stone grinding on stone from inside the shrine as we leave. The doors slam shut and there are hissing noises as if the frog heads in the shrine are releasing gas. As we leave the complex, there is a Yuan-Ti outside. Both Mordacai and Silk hide. Scortral hears it mumbling and says "what" in Dwarvish. He introduces himself to the Yuan-Ti, who says his name is Sabash. Scortral lies and says he was taking Gary for a walk. Sabash says he will take Scortral to Ras Nsi. Scortral pulls his sword out and threatens Sabash, who says he means no harm and leaves with his friends. Silk and Scortral argue as Scortral thought they hid because they knew the Yuan-Ti and didn't want to be seen by them. Apparently not. Silk asks Orvex for the location of the next temple, and he provides it to the party. The Party takes a short rest for Mordacai and Silk to tend to their wounds as Scortral keeps watch. Session 21 - 23/02/2020 (PushingDaisies is missing) ----------------------------------------------------- The Yuan-Ti are collecting and protecting the cubes below the city. The Red Wizards are trying to collect them all. Orvex says there is a Red Wizards of Thay HQ on the West side of the town along the road. The camp is across the road from a temple and they would be alerted if we were loud. Orvex says they started at 100 strong but have lost many numbers over the weeks. The journey to Omu took 10 Wizards, they lost 32 in the jungle. The previous group we saw had mercenaries with them and few mages directly. There are 4 mages of the Red Wizards of Thay here, all living. Also an Archmage in Chult in hiding. Orvex saw a female mage with a half disfigured/old face. Mordacai knows this is the highest ranking mage, Zagmira. She appears to be 18 years old, but it's a ritual she did to inhabit the body of her own grand-daughter. We head 2 buildings away and Silk sneaks in to check for numbers. Kurious says we can try diplomacy, but Scortral doesn't want to make deals with evil Wizards. As Silk approaches the campfire near the building, he starts to glow (as if fairie fire was being used). He backs up and he no longer glows. As he backs up, the fire disappears again. He spotted 8 around the fire, and they seem to be mercenaries. They didn't seem to move or react to Silk at all. He notices it's around 50ft to the campfire where he started to glow. Silk redirects around the building to the back side of the compound to avoid that fire. Silk notices that the 8 people around the fire don't seem to be more at all. They seem to be propped up and have a red stain around their necks. He also finds some burned supplies behind the building. The toast is well overdone. Silk spots a snakes tail sticking out of the door of the building. He also spots a very pale face with black tattoos on her face, with one side young and one side old (Zagmira) looking down on him from the window of a building near this large HQ. As Silk moves back, she moves window to window and follows him. The campfire seems unchanged. There is a letter on the ground and Silk picks it up: https://i.imgur.com/FVrLjGt.png (Lord Brixton's Letter -- The Company of the Yellow Banner). Silk returns to the party and asks about the Yellow Banner and the campfire. Mordacai recognizes the spell as Greater Fairie Fire. We decide to send Gary up to the fire towards the building to see what happens. As Gary walks up, 8 Yuan-Ti come out of the building and pop Gary's bubble. The Yuan-Ti look around for a bit and then go back inside the building. We decide to get Kurious's Vegepygmy friends to distract the Yuan-Ti again and get them to come out. Kurious and Mordacai work on Scortral's suggestion of dressing them all stacked in Mordacai's old clothes. We attempt to sneak into the building to set up the ambush, but Mordacai is a little loud with a door and peaks the interest of the Yuan-Ti as we head near the buildings. The Vegepygmies walk out and the Yuan-Ti slide out as one group and stab at the guys in a coat and they feign death. The Yuan-Ti seem to be happy, but then the Vegepygmies run out of the clothing off back towards the alley near us. Silk runs around towards where he saw Zagmira and catches their attention. The Yuan-Ti run off towards that house and all get exploded by a huge Fireball. Zagmira walks out a few moments later and then looks at Silk. Zagmira starts walking out and Scortral runs out and says "Good job I guess". She asks who she should thank and slights Silk, but then looks to Mordacai. Scortral blurts out that the midgets in a trenchcoat was his plan. Zagmira says she is the last red Wizard in the area. She barricaded the room she was in and made the door disappear. The Yuan-Ti were setting a trap for the red Wizards if they came back. Zagmira says she was in Omu to study the Soul-monger. She says the Soul-monger could be used to extend human lives. She says the Acererak isn't real, but is a simulacrum that has gained a soul and went rogue. She also says she has the other 6 puzzle cubes to our three and assumes we have the rest. Scortral says we actually just came down to dine on some fresh giant snakes. She also says Ras Nsi is being played for a fool saying that his protection will spare him from Acererak's death curse. Zagmira offers to teleport us to the door, past Ras Nsi. Suddenly a crack is heard and a portal appears. The Blackstaff walks out. She says we are associating with filth. Zagmira fires back saying the blackstaff is leeching off her predecessors. We explain she has the cubes and what they are used for. She offers her help instead of Zagmira and then threatens her with her staff. Silks asks if the Blackstaff knows where the gate is, but she doesn't. The Blackstaff says Zagmira can take us there and then die. Zagmira readies up for a fight and says she will just leave and come back with reinforcements to kill us. Silk convinces them to work together. Zagmira dropping her wand down first and then the Blackstaff follows. The Blackstaff stares daggers of betrayal at Silk. Zagmira makes a circle and teleports us to the door to the Temple of the Nine Gods (https://i.imgur.com/7m92eRQ.png). There is daylight outside it seems behind us. We seem to be outside. There is a warning on an Obelisk outside: https://i.imgur.com/om3z2T6.png (From Acererak) Scortral starts arranging cubes based on the order of the story (https://i.imgur.com/37HsPYy.png). The entrance to the hallways we are in begins to close, and skulls are there with gas coming out of them. Zagmira casts Time-stop, grabs the cubes and runs. We all dash towards her. She says this isn't the right tunnel. Mordacai notices another entrance in the trees. The entrance we are at has closed up. He lets us know. Silk asks Kurious to keep the Blackstaff from killing us. We find another stone slab with the puzzle on it. We ask Orvex for the gods to be opposite. Our solution: https://i.imgur.com/Dh5MuAQ.png Four of the cubes pop out and lighting strikes the party, killing Orvex and badly wounding others. Our Second solution: https://i.imgur.com/TXDwPfE.png The slab opens and there is another slab blocking the way with a lever and a glaring skull staring down from above. Silk pulls out a cigar and smokes it. It causes a Great Mass Healing effect on the party, giving a little pep up to everyone. We all head into the chamber. The jaw of the skull opens and a crystal timer comes out on a hand, and sand starts to fall, it seems to be 10 seconds. Scortral pulls the lever on the slab. The floor spits open and the party falls into a 20ft deep pit lined with poisoned spikes, while Scortral dangles from the lever. Silk throws a grappling hook at Scortral who barely grabs it. Both Zagmira and the Blackstaff were impaled on 3 spikes each. Zagmira seems to be close to death, but the Blackstaff seems fine. They both seem poisoned. Mordacai casts a Rope Trick and Silk and Scortral climb up the rope. The blackstaff tries to teleport and can't. She places her staff on the ledge and Mordacai pulls the Blackstaff up. Silk realizes that the bastard who made this was relying on people getting scared and pulling the lever. Scortral stabs Zagmira with a javelin and a crack of radiant light comes out of her as she is killed. Mordacai grabs both souls from the woman. The body returns and only the young lady is left. The floor shuts and the corpse is stuck down there. The hourglass comes out again and we don't pull the lever this time. The door opens to the next room. Mordacai casts a Tiny Hut and we take a safe long rest. Session 22 - 01/03/2020 [[ Scortral Dies ]] (PushingDaisies is missing, Toast's Celia joins the party) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From behind, Celia approaches Mordacai's Tiny Hut and recognizes the spell. The Party notices a Tiefling outside of the Hut. She is wearing a simple dress with a glove in her left hand with some sort of sapphire in it. She has grey skin, greyish hair and golden eyes with an evil smirk on her face. There is a wild look of experience to her young space. (She has a stone floating around her). Scortral walks out to say hi. Celia says she is looking for a Red Wizard commander she was going to be guarding. Scortral sees that she is some sort of hired merc and seems to be telling the truth. Scortral introduces himself and Celia seems to be contracted and doesn't know much. She asks if she can join up looking for her commander but Scortral says she'd need to talk to the others. Scortral uses his Divine Senses and doesn't sense pure evil from her. Then the dome falls and the gang starts introducing themselves. Celia offers Silk a card from a deck of cards she says she saw on the road, nobody takes one. Celia asks what they are doing and Scortral says to ask the Blackstaff. She says she is here to assist us in stopping the soulmonger and the Lich Acererak. Celia offers help and the Blackstaff accepts it. We head through the second door. There is a mouth with a well full of darkness (The mouth: https://i.imgur.com/JOJwBG8.png). Scortral stops Silk with the blunt end of his Javelin and points out the dart trap he's about to step on. Silk jams the pressure plate with a dagger and then proceeds with the trap disarmed. Scortral moves forwards and triggers a dart trap. He gets hit by one of the darts fully and takes a bit of damage. Silk moves up and steps on a trap as well. His evasive nature allows him to take a glancing blow from 2 of the darts. Mordacai realizes his amulet looks a lot like the open mouthed face on the wall and thinks to use it on it as he thinks the Sphere of Annihilation may be behind it. The Blackstaff realizes what he is doing and tries to detect magic on the face. She feels it has a magical air about it with some sort of darkness spell in it's mouth, but not a Sphere of Annihilation. She offers the idea of sticking the Amulet inside of the mouth. Mordacai uses his magehand to bring the amulet to the hole and the creature inside grabs at it. Mordacai fires a firebolt at the creature in the hole (Shadow Demon). The creature isn't strong enough to grab the amulet and the firebolts seems to hit it. A scream emits from the hole. Shadowy arms grab the Blackstaff and try to pull her in. She bats the arms away with a light spell. It appears in a shadow behind Scortral looking pretty: https://i.imgur.com/6TUghVK.png Silk runs up and stabs at the shadow. The demon seems to be having a hard time holding together. Scortral smells the demon, turns about and slashes it with his Celestial Greatsword, causing a flash and then the shadow dissapates into a black ichor on the ground. Scortral goes to look into the hole where the Shadow Demon came from. It still is magically dark inside. Silk heads down the hall opposite the rusty grate in the ground and finds a stone balcony with a guardrail. Scortral finds a Crystal window and we see a dark chamber inside. There is a stone Sarcophagus with 2 large statues of bears behind it. There are 6 corpses along the walls with weird masks on. Scortral summons Gary, but he cannot fit in the hole. He overhears Mordacai saying "break the glass" in conversation and assumes this was the idea, so he breaks it. Celia runs in excited to see what is in the stone sarcophagus. There are Wights all around the room and they have bows and longswords. They start advancing towards Celia. She takes damage one shot with an arrow and a longsword slash and runs back out to the party, exclaiming about zombies. One of the Wights chases Celia out of the room and some of the others head to the door and attack Scortral and Mordacai. Only the Wight attacking Celia actually hits. Mordacai responds angrily with a fireball on all of them sculpted around Scortral and Mordacai. The fireball breaks part of the sarcophagus in the middle of the room. Gary attacks the Wight that hit Celia but misses. Scortral kills it instead and misses the other that was trying after Mordacai. He casts Thunderous Smite on himself. The Wights fire a volley at Scortral and Mordacai but only Mordacai gets hit by one. Celia runs up and casts a firebolt on a Wight, killing it. She then runs back out to safety. One of the wily wights lobs two shots at Silk which both miss. One skitters off a wall near Celia, spooking her. Not wanting to be experimental, Mordacai fires another Fireball into the room, killing another wight. Scortral runs it, slashes twice at one of the wounded wights, killing it and sending it flying with a bang of thunder into the statue. He walks up and stares at the last wight. Continuing the running in trend, Silk charges the last wight and stabs it until it dies. The party enters the room. Scortral searches the bodies and finds nothing but old longbows and longswords. Celia spots trasure in the Sarcophagus and Scortral moves away the broken peices of the lid. Celia picks up the ring and it turns to dust in her hands. It turns into a small bear like creature that attacks her. --- Sarcophagus Loot: Bones of a Zorbo that lie dusty Ring of Protection (When touched it turned into a small bear like creature and attacks) --- Celia is secretly inhabited by a trickster god and is granted both a flaw and a power (https://i.imgur.com/zNITWFj.png). She is possed by Obo'laka and gains a new flaw: "I am risk-averse and a slave to routine." and she can attune to an additional magic item. (The god can be forced out when we leave the tomb). Celia also has a voice in her head that introduces herself to her. Mordacai looks at the eyeballs on the statues. He stares at it and the eye stares back. As soon as he blinks, the statue blinks. Silk and the Blackstaff stay to try and figure out why that room is so odd. The rest of the party go to meet up with Scortral and see where he and Gary went near the stone cliff and guardrail. Gary sees another stone face on a wall. As we walk over to him, Mordacai sees a figure on a stone ledge below wearing a mask like the stone face on the wall at the entrance. Celia finds a key on the ground. Upon inspection it is a whole carved skeleton with the neck and head fashioned into a key: https://i.imgur.com/UEvtChb.png Mordacai and Celia talk about it and he finds it to be necromantic in nature and tries to animate it. He doesn't think the spell works but it stands up anyway. The skeleton key stood up on it's own and tries to tiptoe away when Mordacai says hi. Gary tramples it off the ledge and nods to Mordacai. Scortral inspects the stone skull that has 2 fires in it's eyes. He peeks through the mouth and it has a serpent carving in it and a floating skull. Scortral crawls through and one of the flames in the eye socket goes out. The voice of a young girl echos in his mind and Scortral thinks of opening eyes. She says how did she get here, and says she can't see anything. Her name is Nepartac. The skull is of a little girl, it doesn't seem to reek of evil to Scortral's Divine Sense. It's the conciousness of a little girl inside. Scortral draws eyes on the front of the Crystal cube, and she says she can feel his touch. She asks if we are friends with her father. Scortrals asks and this is the daught of the last king of Omu. She has been there for maybe a few days she says. As Scortral explains her situation poorly, the skull floats up and down. She asks Scortral to get her out. Scortral smashes the Crystal. The voice shrieks and the eyesockets shoot flame. The Skull shoots in the air and the conciousness is gone. The skull shoots a fireball and Mordacai counter-spells it through the hole. Swarms of undead spiders crawl out and try to swarm onto Scortral. Nepartac casts 2 fire rays and Scortral is alight. The spiders swarm and bite him. Celia casts a Witch Bolt at the spiders and hits Scortral badly. She casts another and misses a spider again. Scortral casts Protection from Good and Evil and Shield of Faith on himself to save himself from the onslaught. Mordacai casts Dawn and sculpts it around the party. All of the spiders die to the radiant damage. He enters the room and the second flame in the other eye goes out. Celia yells that the eye went out and Mordacai gets close to Scortral to dimension door them if he gets out. Nepartac fires another large fireball and knocks Scortral unconscious while charring Mordacai. The bushes were destroyed and the sarcophagus damaged in the flash of fire. Celia casts True Strike and then two firebolts are lobbed at the flaming skull of Nepartac, but the fire does nothing. Dawn hits the flaming skull again and Mordacai swipes at it with his quarterstaff but misses. It tries to run towards the exit and Mordacai swipes at it again, doing little damage. Nepartac fires another fireball that almost kills Scortral and hurts Mordacai. The flaming skull then dies to the Dawn. Mordacai tries to stabilize Scortral and fails. Celia runs in and gets trapped within the mouth as it snaps shut on her. She Dimension doors into the room and the jaws clamp shut and reopen. The eyes stare back and as the Blackstaff pokes them, they look angrily. Silk realizes this being a dead end is odd for a dungeon and he realizes the first North and South thrones look odd. As he checks the North throne, he sees a small divot and Gary helps him get through the secret door by ramming it. Once through, screams are heard from where the rest of the party had headed off to and Gary disappears. The Blackstaff says they should go help and heads off. Silk follows, moving as quietly as possible. Silks sees across the gap and through the skull's stone mouth he can see the party. He also spots the strange figure on the ledge below. Mordacai seems to be holding Scortral in his arms. Silk moves closer and calls out and asks if everyone is ok. Scortral's eyes open and he sees Silk through the mouth. Celia lets Silk know that Scortral is dying and the trap only activates on the third one coming through, based on the eyes. Silk enters the room. He gets close to Scortral and asks Mordacai if keeping his soul is really a good idea. Mordacai explains the Soul-monger can't take it. The party speaks their last words and head back out, Mordacai first, then Celia, and then Silk. The mouth clamps down on Silk as he walks back out and he quickly rolls out of it. Silk returns to the Blackstaff and tells her that Scortral died. She lets out a single tear ands says, "We cannot let his loss be for nothing. We have to stop the Soul-monger!". They return to the dungeon. Kurious tugs on Silk's shirt and says she doesn't like this place. The Blackstaff wasn't a fan of Mordacai's hut so she casts her own Tiny Hut furnished with a bookshelf, fresh coffee and a pie. The party takes a long rest in the tomb that once held the Wights and Silk stashes Scotral's stuff in a portable hole. Silk sneaks off through the secret door and investigates. There is a rusted statue of a knight holding a shield on the west wall of the room. He feels a pull from all of the metal items on him, but it doesn't move him much. Silk stumbles into a magical rune on the floor on a relief carving of a monk on the floor and a crevice appears and the carving illuminates in Blue. A weird monk with blue hair that flows upwards as if he is sinkin in water appears, freed from Acererak's carving and his slumber. He confusingly asks where he is. Silk explains the situation and the soulmonger. There is a fountain covered in moss in the room, with 4 marbled maidens around it. Water is flowing. Silk sneaks past the monk. He introduces himself to the monk who introduces himself as Master Creko. The fountain seems to be magical in nature. Master Creko takes a look at the fountain and finds it to be blessed water from the weird shimmer and grit. Master Creko takes a drink from it. (Gain 2d10 temp HP for 24hr). The water tastes very good and then blessed. It has a fruity aroma to it. Silk doesn't drink from it and then they head out down the halls further. Silk spots 2 more runes in the wall like what Master Creko came out of and heads over the investigate. Master Creko is told he was in one of these by Silk and touches it. A 6ft Half-elf with golden hair, green eyes and wearing scale armor pops out. The other rune contains and boy with a Margaster crest pops out of it. Silk knows that Margaster is a noble family in Waterdeep. They got their wealth from Smelly Margaster who was polymorphed into a cat. He was an old lady's pet cat whom she left her wealth to. The boy has a case with him with 2 longguns in it. The boy and the man catch up a bit. The boy's name is Bradley and the man's name is Aramil. They group up and continue onward. Master Creko takes a look up and sees birds around the hall. There is a propeller with 5 sharp blades blocking the way. Stepping into the hallway, it spins the fan at a daunting speed. Master Creko runs through and gets bashed by a blade as he tries to jump through. Silk spots a perfectly concealed off switch somehow and turns off the blades. Aramil waits until the blades stop and steps up. There is a 20ft pit and a snarling monkey on a sarcophagus at the bottom of it. There are 3 chests on on the other side of the room. Onyx, iron and silver. Silk hops across the side and Master Creko takes a running jump empowered by Ki and hops 15ft across to the chests. Aramil hops acros the side like Silk did and stumbles a bit. Bradley stays behind. Creko opens the iron chest. There is a 3inch long gold key with a keyhole. There is an adamantine clamp preventing it from being turned when the chest is open. The others contain the same. The chest easily fits a humanoid. This is the tomb of Wongo. Van Richten walks in. Aramil and Van Richten fight a bit. Silk convinces him to climb into the chest. He closes the chest firmly and Van Richten turns the key, but is unable to pull it out. Master Creko drops into the pit and then pushes the button that appeared on it when the key was turned. Van Richten can no longer be heard. Silk opens the chest and finds a diamond where Van Richten used to be. He then notices that Van Richten is trapped within the diamond. Mordacai uses a magehand on the second one and Silk shuts it in. The chest locks and Master Creko hits the button. There is a diamond inside the chest with a small hand in it. They repeat the process on the last chest. The sarcophagus turns into a crystal case and the su-monster mummy inside is clutching a mace (The Mace of Terror) and tries to smash Master Creko with it. It's one foot tall! Aramil casts Shield of Faith on Master Creko and draws and shoots his blessed revolver 2 times at the Su-Monster, hitting both times. The su-monster mummy turns around, looks at Aramil and looks at him angrily. It then tosses the mace at Aramil's face and it misses and hits the wall. The mummy tries to punch Master Creko and misses the evasive old man. Silk readies to defend Mordacai. Master Creko hits the monkey 2 times with his fist and waits. Mordacai firebolts the su-monster mummy, setting it aflame and reducing it to dust. Aramil touches the mace and a su-monster spirit appears and asks him to let it in and jumps into his face, but he resists it. The Mace of Terror appears again with the su-monster spirit trapped inside. The su-monster spirit jumps into Mordacai. (Flaw: I act without concern for the wellbeing of others.
