--- tags: DnD --- # Deadbeats and Dipshits - Group 2 - Session 17+ Session 17 (24/07/2020) - (Varen missing, Robyn Missing) ------------------------------------------------------------- We awake near the wreckage where we camped, but don't find a flaming forest. The party heads to the bridge nearing Everton and find a wandering trader talking with a party of 5. This trader offers a Silver Rapier for 150gp. Celia offers the man a better deal, she shows him the rotting harpy wing. He offers nothing for the wing and Xorm trades 150gp for the Rapier. Celia says she doesn't need the money anyway, but then offers the Griffin Wing, which he says 20gp is what he'll pay. She wants a trade instead, but finds nothing good and takes the 20gp. Xorm is looking for something magicl, and is offered Spell Scrollls and Potions, as well as a stange Amulet, but the man seems to be suspicious while saying it's a Telepathic Amulet that gives you encouragement. Xorm tries to speak to it in his mind and finds no response. Xorm tries to make it seem as if the Amulet can talk Telepathically and tell the man to pit it on. The man puts it away instead. Xorm swaps 5pp for the Amulet and the man has a Sigh of Relief and a smirk as he hands it over. Celia tries to get him to put it on but Xorm refuses to touch it and puts it away. The party heads further and then stays at an Inn. Xorm figures out his pretty necklace is magical, but nothing more. They awake in the morning and Xorm hunts down a man to sell him some pearls. The man says he will open the store in 2 hours. Celia says that Xorm seems stressed about this necklace and we decide to sit for the 2 hours. Xorm buys 4 pearls for 410gp after some bartering. He offers a platinum bar for this and gets his change. Vam Identifies the Amulet and finds it is the **Amulet of Blegh** (Con Save DC 18 upon touching it, you vomit if you fail. Every 5 mins it does it again). Celia stumbles over and Xorm and Vam tell her it's a good magical item and a fancy looking necklace. Celia shoots vomit across the room as soon as she goes to touch it and asks everyone else to put it on her. Xorm and Vam put it on using the Silk. The party heads on their way and Xorm removes the necklace and tells Celia about it as he hides it away. We find the small town and our boat safe and sound. The party loads up and then readies to set sail in the morning. Delg keeps dreaming of waterfalls calling for him and suggests we go towards Dagger Falls as he'd like to see them. The party decides to go as it's not far. We sail as Xorm learns to operate the Sloot Sloop. Xorm feels some sort of alluring song in the air. Then he notices the Harpy. The Harpy realizes that she is spotted and calls 5 more friends down. They ask Xorm to sacrifice one of the crew to them to keep his party alive. Xorm threatens the Harpy telepathicly and is suprisingly threatening. The Harpy starts to move and Xorm tries to attack it and misses. The party defends the ship from the Harpys. Fintan does a flip as he jumps from the last and draws the first blood. He stuns it and it falls into the water. Xorm tries another Mind-Thrust and fails again. A Harpy goes clubbing with Fintan and draws blood. Delg flies into a rage and attacks a Harpy. A few Harpy club hits miss and one of the Clubs glances off and gets broke. Celia is still asleep below deck as the Harpys attack her friends. Fintan sets the deck on fire and kills one as Xorm starts poking them in the ass to make them feel some pain and bloodying one. Delg gets a few more hits in, but one Harpy starts to fly off as the party gains the upper hand in the fight. The construct finishes another off and Vam Tolls the Dead on another one. As another attempts to escape, Xorm clips it and Vam finishes it off. One of the Harpys makes it further away as the construct wails on it. Fintan clips another as it tries to escape. Celia finally awakes to the smell of the smoke and finds a bucket full of greywater. She stumbles up to the deck while yelling, "Hey Guys! There's a fire!" and notices the Harpys. She runs over and go to volley the water on the fire, but she lands it flat on it's bottom, with the water mostly inside. Fintan shapes the water out of the bucket and onto the fire. It puts out a small section of the water. Xorm puts out more of the wire with his mind creating some cold. Delg tells to construct to put out the fire and it moves closer the the lowering lines for buckets. The party finally gets the fire out and Fintan moves the dirty water off the boat. Vam, Fintan, Delg, and Celia all taste of the sweet Harpy meat, and Vam doesn't feel that well. The boat continues and makes it to the bridge, where the Sloot Sloop won't fit. Session 18 (07/08/2020) - (Robyn Missing) ------------------------------------------ There is a dock and tavern here near the bridge. We dock the Sloot Sloop and travel another 3 days to Dagger Falls. A travelling salesman is selling some textiles. He has left Dagger Falls and is moving south. Celia and Xorm buy fancy backpacks and the man reveals he has some enchanted cloth. Apparently it would make you more convincing to wear it. It seems he's on the run and was chased off both other tailors. Xorm pays 15pp for 2m of the enchanted fabric. He also spots some sort of worms in a container in there (illegal silk worms). There's a rod that seems to be cold. Xorm asks and is told it is made of Cold Iron that can be found here but is very rare. The parties part ways and we continue on our way to Dagger Falls talking about how sketchy he was. We hear a noise behind us that seems to be from some sort of teleport, followed by four others. Behind are five white spiders. They seem to be appear following the man and poised to attack him. Delg moves in and his construct attacks one of the spiders. Vam casts a fireball, bloodying three of the pale horrors. Drogard misses his swing as Celia start flying. The poor peddler gets ripped up by two spiders and doesn't look so well. As they move Vam gets a hit in and then Delg follows it up, catching up and nearly killing one. Vam Creates Bonfire to char another to death. Another spider finds it's mind blown by Xorm. Celia hovers over the man and grabs him, taking him as far away as she can. Two of the spiders teleport closer to Fintan, Celia, and the wounded peddler. Fintan uses Wack. It's very effective. Spider has fainted. Delg runs up and trows a javelin at the last living white spider and gives it a solid poke. He does it again, prickling it again. The construct seems confused so it continues, realizes and then turns around. Vam finishes the last spider off and tries to help the man. He only can determine the man doesn't look well as the man vomits. Celia rummages around in her bag and starts to pull out a random potion but Xorm beats her to helping by casting cure wounds on the man. The man starts to froth at the mouth and his wounds start to rot. Xorm realizes this was from poison and uses lessor restoration from a scroll on him. He starts to look better. Xorm tries to talk to the man telepathicly and he seems to be unconcious. With the man "distracted" Xorm checks what is in thee coach and the man's pockets. Celia touches the man's cold rod. Xorm finds a hidden compartment with a key to the lockbox in it and forces it open. --- Old Loot Man: - Threatening Letter (Silk Weavers Guild saying to "forfeit the assets or die") - 15pp - 10pp **Given to: Xorm** - Cold Iron Rod - **Taken By: Celia** - Silk Dresses - Silk Robes - Lockbox - Tray of 12 Silk Worms - - Secret Compartment - Key for the lockbox - **Taken By: Xorm** --- The man finally is able to be woken and thanks us for saving him. Everyone chats about the illegal silk trade. He stole them from the Silk Weavers Guild. We will take the worms back for him and he returns 10pp to Xorm. The group finally reaches Dagger Falls. It's surrounded by a tall wall and the architecture is of Dwarven Origin framing a Waterfall at the heart of the city. It's illegal here to enter any of the old Dwarven tunnels. When Delg sees the waterfall, he feels calm wash over him and a calling pulling him to the tunnels behind the Waterfall. Delg says he wants to go there and talks about the hammer and visions. Xorm suggests going to a Library, Vam says to find a legal way in, and Celia asks how she can tell a dwarf is a woman. Delg relies that there aren't any and says she may be confused with gnomes. They all enter Dagger's Waterhole, a tavern and inn run by a family of six gnomes, two female, four male. Drogard orders some ale for Celia and to fill his giant cup. It spills on the gnome and Fintan decides to pull the ale out. Vam creates a black mark on the apron with Prestidigitation and Fintan is left to explain that it didn't go wrong, it'll look fine later. Xorm gets a tankard of wine and asks the gnome server if she knows any decent tailors around. She tells him about the Stitch and Stow. Xorm and Celia spot a dwarf and he calls himself Daegar Lionsmane. He is told about the spiders. Xorm mentions the tunnel and the man says to keep his voice down. He knows of a way in that isn't guarded, but it can only be used during a fool moon (the next is in about 2 days). Xorm tosses him 1pp as Celia asks about the man's family. Eventually Xorm gets a map with a location marked. There's a rune carved into a stone that marks the way. Wait there for the full moon and you'll see an outline of a doorway. You use the stone with the rune on it to touch the doorway to open it. You can't get back out this way without a full moon and you need to put the rock back after opening the door. Celia starts asking about female dwarves and of their knowledge of Dirven Strongarm. She then gets into hatred between elves and dwarves. Celia says she also hates elves and shakes Daegar's hand. Daegar says to get Celia to bed. Xorm returns and Vam asks if he found a Belt of Ogre Strength, but is told about the tunnel entrace and is in. Celia feels too drunk to walk so she casts fly and bumbles through the air over to a stool and plops down. As the party stays the night, Xorm manages to decifer more of the Ancient Dwarven Spellbook. It seems to have some spells in it, but some of the items for the spells he doesn't understand. Some seem to be familiar or common spells. There are the writings of two owners in the journal section of the book. Dueval Greyvar is one saying Fort Valiant has stayed strong despite thousands dying to elves if they head south. He later writes about a hidden Elven Fortress in the woods that is not visible to the eyes. They have made a ritual requiring a Darkstone to dispel the magic but need to kill the elves to do it. **The location is 4 days south of Daggerfalls** They killed the elves at the fortress but a Fey Portal was opened and they retreated. A new writer enters as Graves Goldmace about a set of items including a magical hammer that gave gotten by the King. The hammer has been lost (the one the party has maybe?). 20 years later, the war is still going on and "The Hammer of Power" is missing. Each part is moved to a different fortress. The man is then old and talks about "The Book of Life" being moved as well. The party awakens in the morning after a good night's sleep. Celia stumbles out of the tavern in the morning and dunks her head into a horse watering trough to wake herself up and then smokes some of her pipeweed. In the town there is construction at the hospital. Apparent some delusional man blew the hospital up with a fireball. They banished him from the city. He was a part of some adventuring group. They killed a loan shark in town though. Xorm finds a tailor and they make his material into a Cogent Tunic (If visible to someone while talking to them, +2 to Charisma skills). Fintan finds a magic shop and asks what he can get for 10 gold, so he leaves. Xorm looks instead for interesting items. Xorm asks about the Belt of Ogre Strength or Giant Strength. The man says he can send a pidgeon to all the other shops and ask if anyone has anything. He will hear back in 2 days but he does have a Belt of Ogre Strength for 800gp. Drogard buys the Belt of Ogre Strength for 775gp. He immediately puts it on and he feels stronger (Strength now at 19). A strange man with a monical comes in and asks to buy the most expensive item. Fintan is offered a magic bean, you water it and something ranom sprouts in 10 minutes. For 9gp he buys one of them. Delg goes to a blacksmith and has a gold battlaxe made for the morning for 50gp. For 3000gp the magic item seller is selling a Bag of Holding, but Xorm trades the Fear-scope, 1000gp, and the Vomiting Necklace (Amulet of Bleh) for it. Celia tries to buy the "Barf Necklace" back but the man says 5000gp for it. With night falling, the party stays another night at the Dagger. Fintan decides to plant and water his Magic Bean 60ft outside of the gate. A very large set of fungus sprouts up (6 of them) and it is the size of a man with holes in it. Fintan touches one and all 6 of the Shriekers go off. He hits it and it seems pained, but it starts to scream again with the 5 others. Fintan takes a chunk out, cooks it a bit with some fire and eats it. It doesn't seem that bad, but nothing special or overly good tasting. The Guards are yelling at him, but he cannot hear over the shrieking. He lashes out again, and stuns one of them, but it still screams. With some frustration he uses his Burning Hands to char the mushroom people and finish them off. Xorm tastes the mushroom too, but it doesn't seem to be any good to him. Fintan returns his bean saying it was defective and then tells the crazy story. He gets a new one. Xorm sees the rune logo translates to key. He is mildly amused underneath his mask. --- 700 EXP --- Session 19 (14/08/2020) - (Robyn Missing and Varen Late) --------------------------------------------------------- We wait another day for the full moon to reveal the door. As the party waits, there is a group of around 7 barbarians below us at the bottom of the hill. They seem to have been in battle as their weapons are bloodied, but dried. They also have a Shaman. One of them spot us and wave, so Xorm waves back as they pass. As the moon light shines a carved doorway appears in the rock nearby, surrounded by runes. The runes are mostly unreadable to Xorm, but it notes you need the key to enter. Xorm gives the door a rock-key boop and the door starts to open. This is a carved room with a trap door in it. The trap door seems 200ft down with a ladder carved in the walls. The party heads down. The bottom is missing, so Fintan forms some stone for Xorm to tie off to. It seems that down here is some sort of ancient burial ground. Each tomb has a statue and they all seem like varying importance. Celia lights her flaming longsword. The air feels creepy and it's rather spooky in this dried-meat shaft. Xorm gets a whisper in his mind, but the entity doesn't respond back to him. The rest of the party except Delg hear similar. Eventually we reach an intersection. It looks the same on all sides. Xorm scrapes and X into the ground to mark the tunnel we came down and Fintan bends the earth into an X to show off. We keep heading and reach another intersection where the party goes right until a wall is found. Xorm leads as Delg isn't feeling anything until a door is found that smells damp. A descending spiral staircase is found here. As the party heads down the spiral suddenly closes all the way down and leaves us in a blocked room. There seems to be some grating here. Fintan starts sealing it up as some clay leaks in. The clay gets up and starts walking. Xorm asks the clay golem what it is but gets no response. The golem seems to be uninterested, but then starts moving towards Delg. Delg tries to command it to stop and it doesn't work. More clay bubbles up from the floor and another of these creatures starts to form. Vam moves up to the front and the creature touches him, turning him into clay and trapping him inside of the creature. Xorm calls out to Vam, who doesn't respond. Drogard yells out, "do not let that touch me"! With a mind attack, Xorm goes after the creature that took Vam. This attacks Vam and the clay both, but hurts neither. Celia attacks with a thunderstep, killing both golems and hurting Vam. What's left is a clay statue of Vam. Xorm talks to it and confirms he's not very useful now. More clay appears and Xorm "ends the call". Delg tries to attack it but misses, it tries to touch him and he dodges it. Another does the same. Drogard tries to go back up the stairs, but his hammer does nothing. Fintan drops one of the clays with a WACK! Yet another is dropped by Xorm's mind as it disappears into the grate. Celia goes and stares into Vam's cold clay eyes. Five mounds of clay move through and Delg destoys one. Fintan takes a poking and gets well sucked. Drogard is too afraid to move forward so he paces in the back. Xorm reaches out with his mind again and Fintan says he is fine but curious where he will be taken. With another attack, Xorm drops one. Celia misses with a firebolt, but hits with another, killing the creature holding Fintan. The clay statue of Fintan is left behind. Five more appear where the last were killed off. The construct smashes one as it enters. Fintan gets absorbed again. Drogard continues to freak out as Xorm kills another and then puts Vam into the bag. Celia runs to the back and crys in a ball, not knowing what to do. Fintan is freed and then gets sucked back up as well as Delg and they start to get taken away. Xorm and Drogard fight over Drogard seeming giving up. Celia drinks a potion. Her finger starts to glow shooting bright light from her finger (lasts 5 hours). Xorm gets into his own Bag of Holding and closes it. Concentrating so he doesn't need to breathe. More clay forms and moves forward as Celia picks up the Bad of Friendlings. Drogard and Celia eventually step back and get swarmed and pull into the creatures as well after Drogard liquifies one. Drogard looks horrified as he turns to clay and is absorbed. Celia just lays there and lets it happen. The Golems move all the way back into where they came from and Xorm is unable to contact anyone from inside his bag. Eventually Delg is deposited in a completely dark room and reverts back to his standard stiffness. Fintan is the next to appear. Delg calls out to the moon-blind Fintan and comes over to him. The monk lights his torch and Delg washes his hands. Drogard appears a few minutes later and is shuddering violently in a mess of panic and concern. He mutters something about this "not being like the last time". Clay starts blubbling around Drogard's feet so he crawls away from it as Celia is deposited with a bag of holding. Celia asks if Xorm had to relieve himself in his own bag, and he saysm "no". He climbs out and starts to pull Vam out. As Vam is pulled out, clay surrounds him and then dissipates. We end the next room that seems to be some sort of utility room with a furnace or forge in it. Celia reminds Xorm he was looking for climbing spikes (Pitons). He finds five of them in the room. We move into the next room and Delg examines the stone. He spots a brain in a jar in liquid. Delg calls it out and Xorm seems interested. Xorm tries to talk to the brain but multiple things seem to call out at once. He Ransacks the mind of the brain and seems to just get nonsense. He then vaporizes the brain with an Energy Beam and thne says "it wanted it". Drogard spots something strange and Delg finds it to be a hidden door which he manages to open. In the next room is a creature that gets up from a chair. It's some sort of Dwarven Skeleton with bright red eyes. Xorm asks who he is. The Skeleton is thrusted quickly by Xorm and Drogard follows and readies himself. The Skeleton attacks Xorm thrice and hits with the third. Xorm reacts by thickening his skin to stop the attack. Delg attacks twice, but misses. Vam moves in and Creates a Bonfire on the skeleton, but it doesn't seem to hit him at first. Xorm attacks again with his mind and Drogards lands a slash as well. It chops back at Drogard and hits him. Vam fails to Toll the Dead on this creature as it seems resistent to magic. Delg cracks some ribs off of the creature in a rage and Vam fails with another Toll the Dead. Xorm stabs the skeleton and it turns to dust, leaving behind a battleaxe and **a chestpiece that Delg says it's adamantine as Vam picks it up.** They find the skeleton was some sort of mine supervisor so the mine is likely near by and we are in the areas and facilities around it. Xorm Wedges the door closed and the party takes a long rest. --- EXP: 850 (21,070 EXP total) --- Session 20 (11/09/2020) - (Robyn Missing) ------------------------------------------- Xorm opens a door and find an empty hallway with a portait hung on the wall. The party enters and notices some mining equipment and some strange old contraption and a few piles of rubble. The contraption seems to be some sort of construct that operated mining equipment for the lode here. Drogard borrows Delg's axe and starts chopping into the wooden door very poorly, so he tries a crowbar instead. He then tosses Delg's axe back and peaks inside. Through this door is another room with more rubble and even more doors! Through the double door there are noises as Drogard throws the doors open. There are more constructs here and they are moving. Inside are also four chests and two dwarven statues. Drogard interacts with one of the constructs and it speaks in Ancient Dwarvish. Xorm is called and the thing repeats itself, but louder. Apparently it said something about "authorize" so Xorm asks Drogard to back out. Quickly Drogard closes the door and holds it as they close in. There are now six things spouting this on the other side of the door. Suddenly the door breaks as the eight-legged constructs smash through yelling. Fintan fills the door with stone as Xorm hears the words "you", "not", and "authorized". They seem to be asking who we are. The stone is immediately destroyed by mining drills as they continue to destroy the doors. Drogard dodges as more arms start to slip through. Delg grabs the Hammer and commands the constructs to stop, but it appears to do nothing. Vam moves up to near the door with Drogard as Delg backs off. Drogard is surprised and falls prone as the door in front of him breaks. The Minotaur knocks one of the constructs prone with his horns. Xorm tries to say that we are friends of one of the family names he saw. The Constructs don't seem to change their actions, but stop repeating what they were saying. The first construct through essentially says that we aren't supposed to be here and looks agressive, and the others follow and stop seeming to attack. Delg doubles back to find another door in the lode room and peeks inside. Vam waits at the door and Celia uses Misty Step to get into the room and then casts invisibility on himself. Two of the constructs turn around and start scanning the room with their eyes. Xorm drags the broken construct to the others and says "this one is broken" in Ancient Dwarvish. One says "defective" and then "not on schedule". Apparently the Foreman is in charge of the schedule. Xorm brings Delg forward and they say "potentially authorized personel". Xorm introduces him as Delg with the lastname off one of the statues seen earlier, and then authorize him and let Delg in. Xorm helps Delg talk his way through opening the chests telepathicly as he checks it out. One says his request is granted and it opens the chest saying he's a supervisor. Delg opens the big chest and notices it is full to the brim with raw gold ore. He asks the constructs to open the others. The another seems to contain more gold. The third is filled with some black ore and is cold to the touch. Notes and papers are what is found in the last chest along with a Metal and Leather Belt and 3 platinum bars. Delg and Xorm relay and ask if the rest of the party can come in, but it says they are unauthorized. With a wave of his hand, Delg asks the construct to resume it's responsibilities. Xorm passes Delg the bag of holding and begins to fill it from the chest. Fintan refines the ore. --- Loot taken: - 3 Bars of Platinum (2lb each worth 10000gp so 300pp total) - Metal and Leather Belt (The Belt of Dwarven-Kind) - 100lbs of Cold Iron Ore. - 100lbs of Gold --- **Delg puts on the Belt, he gets Con +2 (Max 20) and Advantage on Charisma Persuation checks on Dwarves. Flip a coin every morning/dawn to grow a full beard or get a thicker and long beard. (Wearing this without being a Dwarf gives you resistence to poison, darkvision, and you can read and write Dwarvish).** The party heads through the other door that Delg found. This is a hall way leading to another room. In that other room there are two skeletons along the wall and they are blackened as if they were burned. Their armour and weapons are melted. There are two destroyed constructs and they have dust on them, but don't appear to have been burned. A stone door is near the skeletons and Xorm is unable to open it. Fintan destroys the stone door. This next large hallway shaped room seems to be charred as well. Vam backs up as Xorm prods around and finds a humanoid bone charred in the room. Xorm pulls a slightly melted lever as everyone moves back. There is a clunking noise as a gear starts to move. Xorm peeks and spots A new room is revealed and this one is even more damaged by flame. There are destroyed chests on the right. There is a melted and fused in place metal gear stuck in the next doorway. Fintan spots what appears to be a very charred hallway beyond this with something on the ground that he can't make out. Fintan throws his torch down the hall and finds the hall is littered with melted Dwarven Armour. Xorm asks Fintan to knock the rock out from beside the gear and it falls over flat with a heavy thud. Through this hall is a ledge leading the a gigantic cavern. The ledge has gigantic claw marks on it. Fintan tosses his torch down and it lands 60 ft down where there are destroyed mine carts and working tracks. It appears whatever had the claws destroyed these carts as well. Xorm seems to think this was a giant Lizard. **It appears an ancient dragon stood on this ledge after landing near the carts and then sent fire down the hall.** Celia lays down and takes a nap on the stone, and Gary the Chicken gets annoyed and wakes her up. It appears all this is quite old, nearing 2000 years old. Vam starts firing Fire Bolts down the halls, and it's longer than 240ft so it dies out before hitting a wall. There is a ledge near the top of the Chasm with no real way up it appears. This seems to be the centre of the tracks and a point of convergence. Celia awakes as everyone talks and asks what's going on. Fintan says "I'm thinking about jumping off this cliff". We use ropes and pitons to climb down as Fintan just jumps off. Celia casts Fly and checks out the high ledge. It appears to be a trough full of some sort of oil that can burn and it appears to be flowing. She then calls this out to the party as it echos. She scoops some of the oil and throws it down at the party. It poofs when hitting the torch. Vam offers to shoot a fireball up there, but Celia says she can see fine. She asks if it is drinkable and Xorm asks her to light it. Celia sets the trough alight with a Fire Bolt and the area lights up as the fire spreads all the way down the halls. It lights a big mountain in the centre of the room and it hits the top, lighting some sort of throne or monument that appears to have piles of gold and treasure there, as well as two large white masses. **Upon seeing the throne Delg gets an urge to head towards it. He envisions some great and mighty weapon there calling to him, and it's at the very top.** The area is now well light as if in daylight. The mountain appears to have no way up other than to walk all the way up to the top. This appears to be a massive dragon hoard but it doesn't appear to be recently disturbed. Delg calls out that there is a weapon he can feel and then says he will keep going. He mentions it's the same feeling as with the waterfall. **Celia flys up to look and finds a Fancy Dwarven Battle-Axe above the throne. It appears to glow.** Celia also sees a long dead dragon that appears to be the white we spotted. There are massive claw marks around it's neck as if it was killed by some abomination. It is wrapped around the throne here as if a decoration. She yells down about the weapon and Delg tells her not to touch it, only he can. Celia wraps her hands in cloth and tosses it down the gold-mound to Delg. As it goes it creates a gold-slide and the party tries to avoid it. Drogard trips up and fails to run and gets buried. Vam isn't very athletic so he casts shield to block the gold out and he gets knocked prone and is restrained under the weight of the gold. Delg runs to where the weapon fell and starts digging for it. Xorm yells at Celia for causing the slide and looks at the big dragon skeleton and it appears to be of a red dragon. Vam casts a Rope Trick and then pulls himself out of the gold easily. He then tries to dig out Drogard, but is a little discombobulated and is slow. Celia finally arrives to help in the dig as Xorm tries to climb up and slides back down. Drogard starts to sufficate under the gold as Celiaa and Vam strart shovelling faster. The minotaur finally gets a breath of air as Vam grabs his hand. Xorm eventually makes it all the way up top and looks and sees no scales are on the dragon, only the skeleton. He also notes the claw marks in the neck bones. Vam pulls Drogard a little further up, but he's pretty heavy and even with Celia it's hard going. Drogard tries to squim and falls further into the gold but Vam eventually pulls him out with Celia's help. Delg finds his Battle-Axe and it attunes to him and whispers it's name into his ear. **It is the "Axe of Strength"** (Advantage on all intimidation checks. +4 to hit elves, +2 otherwise. 1d12+4 damage to damage, 1d12+2 otherwise. The axe feels like it is one with the user so when it is carried and attuned, it has no weight. This weapon is also unbreakable unless thrown into molten lava or the forge that made it.). Celia finally admits that dragons exist. We fill our bags with 100 Diamonds, 100 Rubies, 100 Black Sapphires, and as many gold coins as we can carry each. --- EXP: Now Lvl 7 + 2500 (25,500 current) Luck Points: 5 each, +3 for Celia --- Session 21 (18/09/2020) - (Robyn Missing, Muller/ZeDoctorRat Joins) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Russell was paid by the city to go into the old dwarven mines to find an explorer that was tasked to look to see if anything has changed down here. He had a group with him and they've all died thus far and he is lost. The party awakes from a long rest on the throne and pile of riches. We decide to head out one of the mine cart tunnels. It seems like horses may have drawn some here and Dwarves don't use them. We find what seem to be homes or stores carved into the sides of the tunnel with stairs. This appears to be some sort of city. Delg enters one of the houses and he seems to get a vision of a family hiding in the corner. There is black charring in the building and it appears the dragon torched them inside. It appears he feels some form of guilt from the axe or it's previous owner. He tells this to the party and Vam and Xorm comment on getting him some help. Celia asks if he needs medicine. Xorm enters a nearby store and it appears to be an abandoned apothecary. There is a dead Dwarf's skeleton in the back room and a lot of old broken or empty bottles. We continue out of the area into the now dark tunnel as the fire seems to end. Xorm lights a torch. Eventually we reach a larger area that nears 30ft wide. It appears to be a T, so we head to the left. A three-way is reached and the left is taken again. With more walking, a wall with a stone door is reached. It doesn't seem to be disturbed. Xorm tries to open it and finds some button within the handle. Vam is consulted and he says to use Mage Hand. Something seems to make noise, so Xorm pushes it open. Russell's party was destroyed by the contstructs in the tunnels. He is in a corner, and suddenly he hears a clunk and some grinding. He thinks it is a couple hundred feet away. Through the stone door is a room with 10 odd looking constructs. Not the statue ones, and not the mining ones. This seems to be agile and have swords for hands. They are dormant currently. Vam pokes one with Mage Hand and it doesn't move. Hawke finds a box and fails to open it with Mage Hand. It is locked but has no lock visible. Upon inspection he seems it is stone and has hammers and work tools on it. Drogard is handed the box to carry. Russell sneaks his way along to where he heard the sound from. He finds a big open room that he can't see across with his Darkvision. The Yuan-Ti slithers along the wall and spots a helmet floating in the middle of the room. He also spots some people with torches moving in from the other side of the room. In fear he freezes up, hoping the darkness hides him. Delg spots the floating Helmet and a person shaped object against the wall. Vam sees the Glint of his glasses. Vam responds by drawing a smiley face on the wall next to the humanoid and starts to move closer. Xorm talks in Russell's head to him, and asks his name and Russell tells him. The party approaches and sees a figure in fine blue and guilded robes with a bird-beak shaped mask. Russell is not a bird, and we explain that we were down here. Russell is just hired help and has no real allegience. Vam asks if he is lost, and apparently he is and was supposed to look for general conditions. The party goes to look at the helmet with Delg and Vam stays behind. This floating helmet is gold. Xorm tugs on it with a Mage Hand and sees some strings move attached to it. Spiders drop from the ceiling as Xorm yells Spiders. Xorm gets the nearest spider and bloodies it immediately. Vam get chomped but it glances off. Xorm saves himself with one with his psychic shield. Vam sets one on fire by Creating a Bonfire. Russell tosses a red vial (Alchemical Fire) on one, also setting it alight. Delg takes a bite to the body, and Xorm does as well and seems to be hurting from the poison. The Dwarf responds by flying into a range and chopping into one the the spiders. Celia magically slides next to Xorm and with a loud clash of thunder, she and Xorm disappear. This noise wounds all of the spiders near and kills some. With another chomp, a spider bites Celia and poison burns her wounds as well. Suddenly Xorm emits a blast in a cone from his mind, killing all but four of the ones left and wounding two. **Back in the hall Fintan finally opens the box with Drogard. There is a set of keys in the box, around 12.** Fintan enters the room as Vam Tolls in the Death of the spider trying to escape him. Delg finishes another off, then chases down a spider and nearly finishes it off. Celia snipes the far off Giant Spider, instantly killing it. The helmet appears to have been bait and is just a golden helmet. Delg goes and grabs the helmet. It's just a ornamental helmet. Another large exit is found South and the Party heads towards it. Celia shows Gary to Russell and asks this apparent "export on birds" what's with the bald spot on it. He says he is not a bird and shows it's a mask. He pulls the mask aside and he has a normal looking face. She asks what the mask is for and He says it is for pollutants. Xorm says "like this" and then rips ass so hard that the stone reflects the sound around the room... in his mind. It was just a normal pathetic poot from the Gith Gooch. We head South and then keep going left when we can. Eventually we find a room that Russell finds familliar and Delg seens signs of people passing. Russell confirms the room to the party as being somewhere he's been. Tracing it back, Xorm and Delg find where they came from. The group continues to follow the traces and tracks back and find another large room. This area has fresh crates and a lot of tracks. It looks like people are here fairly often. A regular looking cave with light at the end and a waterfall. They decide to take this hall and see guards there. They talk about a plan, and Russell walks out to help explain what happened. Celia makes herself invisible and she starts to sparkle when she walks out and the guards chase her. She drops the spell and puts her hands up to be detained. They want to search us, and they take all the jems. The party is released without their stolen gems. Fintan runs into a fan and writes a letter for the man's family. Russell catches up with Artimus, his massive Clockwork Raven construct and lets him know he build him himself. Vam says that Celia's chicken isn't as cool. The captain stops us and then men decide to give us 1 diamond, 1 black sapphire, and one ruby each. There are 5 "Black Banner" beating on a man the finish up and come towards us and try to steal from us. We stall until the guard captain comes back and chews out the Black Banner men. Both parties leave. And Xorm speaks the in Black Banner Leader in his own voice saying "that was probably the right choice". We notice the beat man in the alley and run to help. He asks us to kill him, but Russell produces a potion and helps him. Apparently this man has owed the Black Banner men on a loan for 10 years. Fintan pulls out a ruby and puts it in his hand. When the man asks him why he says, "I am Fintan". The man hasn't even heard of him, but he doesn't seem to care. The party decides to find a nearby Inn and they end up a the "Dagger's Watering Hole" again and stay a night. Xorm tries to bribe the bartender to find out about the Black Banner guys. There are probably 2,000 of their men staffed here in a large Guild Hall. Lord Bartholomew runs this Guild Hall and apparently he slayed a dragon. --- EXP: 3,000 (Total 28,500) --- Session 22 (23/10/2020) - (RifleGary/Slim Missing, Toast Missing) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Vam's beard is noticiably thicker today as we wake in the Tavern. Vam and Xorm just think this is normal, but Russell points out he can help cut it. Delg drinks at the Tavern and downs two tankards he gets for cheap for being a Dwarf. Russell and Xorm hunt for some jobs on the local board. A farmer appears to be having issues with losing livestock and thinks some bandits or goblins are stealing from him. He is looking for someone to help with that. Xorm says we should hunt Illithids, and Vam asks what he is referring to. He draws a weird squid person. He shows this drawing the the barkeep who thinks he is insane, so he gives him a free drink. The party decides to leave to hit the farmer up on the way out of town. As the party travels they see some floating states on a fancy fountain. They are two women back to back with their arms locked together at the elbow. Then there are other Dwarven guard looking states floating around the fountain. One of the woman is out of white stone with a blindfold and stares at the sky. The other is cut from dark stone and looking down. Xorm realises this is the Goddesses of good and bad luck. There are coins in the fountain, maybe even some platinum. Xorm tosses in a copper, Delg tosses in a gold piece, Vam tosses in 10gp, and Russell sneakily tosses a gold piece in as well as the better fortune rotates towards him. In their heads they hear a "Fortune left is fortune gained". (+1 next Ability Check for Russell and Xorm, +1 next Saving Throw for Vam) The party travels for 2 days through the woods towards this farm. As they travel, there is a silhouette of a dragon overhead. It saves to leave our valuables and turn back and it may spare us. Russell sends his bird up and it appears to be a dragon's head. Xorm shoots at it with some fire to see if it is even real. It does catch on fire a bit, but suddenly fire erupts from it. The fire strikes the party but a few people manage to make it partially out of the way. There appears to be a guy on the back of the head we can see when it shoots flames. Xorm telepathically asks who this person is, but gets no response, so he Mind Thrusts them. Delg runs up to hit it and there is a Kenku sitting on the things neck. There appears to be a glass container on top of the dragon with tubes. He just growls at it. Thinking Delg is winding up for another hit with the Growling and in danger, Vam uses his Spell Sniping to shoot at the tubes on the damaged dragon's head. The dragon explodes, hurting the party and torching the entire area. Russell is unable to avoid any of the flame and immediately goes down as Vam and Xorm jump behind him. Delg was close but in his Rage he was quick to get to the ground. The Kenku appears to be incinerated, so Vam starts casting a Leomund's Tiny Hut to protect the party as Xorm and Delg try to stabilize the Birdman. Delg pulls off Russell's mask to help him, but it appears that he has really stange skin that is green (https://i.imgur.com/sihrEOV.png). Russell awakes and scrambles to put it back on. They sleep and lick their wounds, eventually making it to the farm. In a clearing in the trees lies the farm. It's a trail off the main road to get there and it appears to be a livestock ranch with a few fields. Fenrir is the man's name and his prize dogs, chickens, geese, goats, and sheep are going missing. He found a dagger on the property and all the crickets seem to be gone. There have been no sightings of large birds in the area, and dragons have been heard before, but not seen here. Old man Dirksen is the only person he recalls who would hold a grudge, but he heard he died. He had a daughter in Queensdale who ran off and he's never seen again. There were footprints the size of a pint glass but didn't have much of a feature on it. These aren't commonly found, but this was impressed after some rain. They are very smooth looking and Russell inspects them further, saying they are from something with more than four legs and a wagon has rolled over them since they were left. There is a white milky cobweb left over nearby, so Russell points out they are probably spiders. Xorm heads out into the woods to check for spiders. Fenrir gets really nervous and says not to go in as they are apparently haunted. A large amount of cobwebs is found up in the trees but there doesn't appear to be fur or blood here. There appear to have been multiple spiders here and Xorm returns to alert the party. The party sets a trap. Delg is left as bait, a Leomund's Tiny Hut is cast by Vam and the other three hide in there. Russell sets a snare up to try to grab one as they come in to Delg. Xorm starts with a Psionic Blast as one of the spiders leaps on Delg and it screams and starts to run. As the spider retreats, it sets a leg into the Snare and it is pulled into the air. Russell shoots it with a crossbow and kills it. As Vam asks for a hammer to hit the pinata, Russell goes and inspects the spider but can't figure out if it is natural. With a sticky hand and a pull, Xorm steals some silk and puts it on Russell, saying he is camouflage, but Russell tells him to stop so he puts it on the fence. Xorm checks with the farmer and finds him asleep, so he awakens him and tells him of the kill. In the trees there are different sizes of spiders, some larger, but none giant. They wait until morning and find nothing else as the Hut disappears. The farmer brings out some coffee and some breakfast. After a chat, the party chats about burning down the woods but the farmers says they may be haunted if they do. Xorm and Delg head in as Vam is starting a fire, so he stops. They find more spiders and decide there are too many. As Vam is talking about setting fire to the woods again, a man comes riding in and screams for Fenrir's help. The party comes over to see what is going on. They were tending to a barn down the road and a Giant Spider came from the trees and took his daughter. They went into the woods with her. This man starts crying madly. Xorm asks for something of hers to help find her and then gets Fenrir to give a dog to get a trail on it to get a direction. Xorm also smells it for some reason, the creepy fuck. The party dashes out after her with the dog. After 100ft in, the dog is called back. We don't spot any tracks, so Xorm searches for a while longer, eventually finding tracks and what appears to have been someone dropped in the mud and then picked back up. 1000ft deeper following the tracks, there are smaller spiders in the trees now, running into the bushes. Eventually the tracks are lost, but the webbing looks much more intentional here. There is a wall nearing 20ft tall wall of webs. Russell sends Artimus up and Vam Creates a Bonfire and burns the first section, finding even more. The Artificer Russell prepares some Alchemical fire over the wall of webs but he doesn't hear it smash as it probably got caught in the webs. Eventually Vam chars his way through into the next. There are bundles of creatures in here like a massive grave. There were spiders watching as we burning our way in. In the middle we find a creature with claws that appears to have a spider like face with a humanoid body (Ettercap), a giant spider, and a bunch of small spiders. It points and makes a noise and all the spiders attack. Xorm asks it to call off the spiders and give us the girl, or he will kill it. It gives no reply, so he blasts it's mind. The large spider gets really angry at seeing the Ettercap getting hurt. Russell tosses some Alchemical Fire into the smaller spiders and his birdo does a peck. The giant spider tries to bite Vam twice, and then shoots webs on him. His armour and a quick Arcane Deflection takes the damage and he pulls off the webs, complaining about his armour getting dirty. Delg runs in and misses his attacks as he flies into a rage. Vam Creates a Bonfire under the Huge Spider, burning it, so the little ones attack him and the party. Vam takes a few bites from the baby spiders, and so does Russell. The Ettercap finally replies and says not to hurt "Beatrice" as he gets pulled off by Artimus. Xorm doesn't relay this and gets the same thing when he asks about the girl again. With this confusing response, Xorm sends a massive blast killing many tiny spiders. As the Ettercap takes damage, the Chonky-Gal Spider lets out a loud screech. Russell Acid Splashes some of the spiders on the ground. Artimus drops the dead Ettercap onto the Huge Spider, who then catches the Ettercap and lets out shrieks of sorrow. As the massive thing tries to run, Vam casts a very powerful Witch-Bolt on Beatrice while Delg tries to chop at it. The Crackling energy fells the beast as it tries to drag away it's apparent friend or lover. As it finally falls, the baby spiders scatter. In the area, there are bodies galore. Near the Ettercap's home there is a body sack moving. Xorm moves to free the person. It's a 14 year old girl. Her eyes are glazed over and she was injected in the chest with Venom. Russell pulls out a golden vial and forces this girl to drink it. This appears to heal her. She awakes in pain, the poison is still present. For some strange reason Xorm tries to suck on the young lady's chest... Drawing nothing but blood. Russell scrounges for some herbs to try and help the girl as she is dying of the spider-venom in her eyes. The mixure he makes takes horrible, but appears to help. The girl passes out. Vam picks her up and heads back to the farm with Delg and Xorm as Russell and Xorm explore the nest/den. Russell cuts into the Ettercap's home and finds really nothing of value other than some spider eggs for his potions. Fenrir runs to get the neigbour who is a doctor. The father is crying and trying to caress the girl and wash her wounds and head. Apparently the mother has already died. Xorm tries to get a reply from the girl Telepathically and gets nothing. Eventually two horses arrive, Fenrir and a gentleman with a bag appear. The doctor treats her with some assorted anti-venoms quickly as the father passes needed items. Eventually she is said to be stable and Xorm tries to talk to her in her head. The man asks for a name, and only Vam gives his. This father goes in for a hug, but Vam casts Rope Trick and starts moving up. The man ends up hugging his legs confused. Vam climbs all the way up into an invisble door and disappears, only the end of the rope visible. The party tells Fenrir about the spiders killed, so he leaves to fetch a reward. He returns with 50gp (12gp each for Russell and Xorm and 13gp for Vam and Delg) and an Instant Camp-Site made by Pierre Krill. Russell thinks the Massive Spider might be worth money, so he goes back with a milk-jug to it. Xorm asks him to bring back a fang to show the farmer who is impressed. --- EXP: 4000 (32,500 Total) --- In the morning, it seems less haunted for some reason. Session 23 (30/10/2020) - (Hawke Missing) ------------------------------------------ In the night, Delg dreams again, but quite brutally and he doesn't sleep well. He saw waves of elves wearing strange looking armour in some swamp. He was in the eyes of a Dwarf in a charge against the elves. It was absolute slaughter of the elves. Through these eyes, he relived the entire skirmish, and saw some location hiding in the swamp calling to him. This dwarf had the Axe of Strength in his hands. Delg relays this dream and his beard seems even thicker today. He tries to bargin with the farmer for some sheers but the man has only his own pair and none to sell. The party decides to head back toward the boat from weeks ago. Along the road a carrier raven is hunting around and looks confused. Vam casts Mage Hand at the bird, and it avoids it and dives for us. It lands on Vam's arm and he takes the note. **Someone needs aid and is cursed. Meet them in Dagger Falls. Some evil Sorceress cursed him. At the Dagger's Watering Hole in 3 days. The letter was signed Lord Morriston.** The party heads back to Dagger Falls and makes it to the **Dagger's Watering Hole** Tavern. The man is a lord of the **Silk-Weavers Guild**. Vam doesn't spot anyone obviously in disguise and the tender says the man is outside the city at his Estate usually. Celia tries to help so she casts fly to take a look and bashes off the room's ceiling and clambers on a chandelier. She seems very drunk. Gnomes try to get her down with a ladder as she jumps of and starts floating. They seem confused that she is floating as she reaches out to her. She starts extending her sword in a scabbard, but is only holding the hilt, so the scabbard falls and knocks a gnome off. Celia drops the sword and pulls out Gary as the bartender yells at her. She makes her way to the wall and slowly climbs down. She gets cut off from the bar. The party waits at the pub for the 3rd day for this Lord. Russell buys some alchemical supplies. A fancy suited group come in with Family Crested armour. Vam approaches. They are four brothers to take us to his estate, a pair of which is here. We enter the estate and it appears to be burned out front. Apparently there was a "mishap". The right side is exploded, and the left appears normal. The party is lead to a dining hall that seems to have no snacks. A tiny tiny tiny man enters the room. His name is Laren Morriston. He starts explaining about a witch called "Zallaman" that he had a relationship with. She blew up the mansion in a fit of rage and cursed him to be 12 inches tall. 10,000gp to bring her head and 20,000gp on top to end the curse. Celia asks for a chair too and he offers it. The witch is beautiful and is **North in the woods by Lake Orison**. She lived here for 4 months and this happened 4 weeks ago. After discussion, the party accepts, but doesn't plan to kill the Witch. The party heads to the bridge to pickup the Sloot Sloop and arrives back at **Water's Edge Tavern and Inn**. We are given a free night at the Inn for drinking there. Russell just takes off on his bird in the direction we were heading to as the party takes the woods. He finds the boat still there and returns to find the party travelling to let them know. In the travel, we find a female dwarf named "Buckles" that makes potions, but only 3 different potions and in batches of 3. Celia buys them and doesn't want to be told what they are. She buys the three for 20gp. Russell asks for an enlarge and two random potions. Delg takes 2 potions and a random one. Vam buys an Oil of Sharpness, Philter of Love, and Potion of Poison (the three options to handle this witch). Vam also gets a Potion of Diminution, a Potion of Gaseous Form, and an Oil of Etherealness. Upon identifying an Potion of Growth, Russell finds it appears to be correct but a minor version of it. Russell identifies his mystery potion as "a Mystery Potion" and nothing else same with the others. Vam feels that it is unlikely the she has these potions, but it does not appear to be a scam and it seems like legit potions. Celia looks in the cart and sees a bunch of vials of water and gets yelled at. She packs up and heads to Dagger Falls says she. Russell chases after asking what a mystery potion is. He is very confused at this item's existence. We finally make it back to the boat and get it back from the locals. Celia tips them for taking care of it. The party makes to to the next bridge and docks as they cannot pass. **Delg and Celia pay 20pp to keep the boat for 20 months.** After that they head across the bridge and find a large prison cart. With 8 soliders and a captain with 5 prisoners heading towards Queensdale. 2 Minutes later there are 5 riders galloping towards the cart and readying for a fight. Vam noticies a sigil hanging from the wrist of one of the rider and suddenly turns around and fire a Firebolt at the wheel of the cart, shattering the wheel's hub and lighting it on fire. The cart's rear slams into the dirt and Vam starts talking to the party saying he wanted to make things interesting. Vam fires another hap-hazardly, striking a prisoner. The riders then shoot the prisoner dead, leaving the four others. As the riders ride back past the party, Delg notices one rider tip his head toward Vam and calls him out for it. Vam says he doesn't know the man, but he did just shoot the cart, so he was probably thanking them. The Guards are all still alive as well and the two groups head in opposite directions. --- EXP for Vam: 1 --- Session 24 (20/11/2020) - (Toast Missing) ------------------------------------------------------- It rains as the travel continues to the witch's home, but the road is washed away due to a mudslide. Russell uses his bird to get across, and Delg gets a ride as well. Vam uses a Rope Trick to swing across but lands in the mud and breaks a strap on his greave. Xorm telepathically pulls him out without saying anything. A large Mud Golem comes out of the mud. Vam walks away and starts to fix his greave strap with Mending, seemingly very upset. Russell and Xorm move back as Delg starts a choppin' in a rage. Fintan burns at the mud, but the big mess avoids most of the flame. The Muddy Buddy tosses a giant ball of mud at Russell, plowing into him and making him a mess of mud and cloak. This monolith of mud goes after Delg, smashing into him and bruising him up with the impromptu spa day. With a wash of anger as thrown mud splashes him again, Vam turns around and casts a powerful Fireball on the beast, blowing a hunk out of him and charring him a bit. Delg gets more chops on the slop in his fit of rage. He also mashes into the pile with his Hammer of Power, flattening a spot. With a tap of his stick, Fintan leaves a mark on the Mud. The beast flings more mud, but Xorm shields himself from it. Russell tries to escape his mud while firing some Acid at the beast, but it misses as Vam blows off some more chunks with a Fireball. The beast seems to be getting smaller. More melee happens as Fintan and Delg attack. Xorm and Delg take more mud slinging. Russell lands a hit, Vam fires a Bolt, Xorm deals some damage, and then Delg chops a leg off, killing the beast. Vam goes back to cleaning himself with prestidigitation and then mending his greave strap. Fintan helps Russell escape. Russell heals up the crew with a little drank. As further travel ensues, there's a lady with a cart overturned, a wall covered in mud with her horse in it. Another mudman is at the slide as the woman screams and it holds a man. Vam immediately fires a Fire Bolt as the party moves up swiftly. The golem crushes the woman with its fist and Vam misses his second shot. Xorm hides behind a tree. Fintan deflects some mud with his Quivering Palms, but he gets restrained by some of it. Russell deals some damage as Fintan gets brutally fisted. Vam evens it out with a solid miss. Xorm flops some too, but Delg makes it in and rages. The bird is knocked out and Russell can't reach it. Vam lands a hit for once. With his mind, Xorm attacks the blob and somehow hurts it's mental mud. Delg starts chopping as Fintan finally struggles out of the mud. As the Golem swings his fist, he loses an arm right in front of Delg, and has to reform it. Some wacks happen from Fintan, and the bird continues to be a pile on the ground and not flying. Fintan takes a hit and drops likea a fly. With a weak mind Xorm still manages to hurt the bulk of mud. Delg ends another mass of mud with his chops. The bird and Fintan are stabilized. The mud seems to have eaten the man. Left over is a wagon with household moving items. --- EXP: 6000 (Now 38,501 -- +1 for Vam) --- Session 25 (11/12/2020) - (RifleGary/Slim Missing) ------------------------------------------------------- Eventually a crossroad is found with a sign for a town called **Bellard**. The party continues along the road instead. This new area is more wooded, but also has more vultures and crows than areas seen before. A deforested area is reached, and there is a fork in the road. There is a lumberyard covered in Bramble, but it doesn't seem that old or long abandoned. Xorm hacks at the bramble near the main building, but doesn't do much. Delg joins in and gets it open. The back of the building has a large hole. Something broke through it by force. There are also some remains on the ground, with bones spotted. Xorm pokes through them and finds ants feasting on the marrow and that they are from varied sources. Some are wild animals, some are unknown, some are humanoid. They've been here a while, but they aren't ancient. There are scratch marks near the large hole, from some large creature. It almost appears the forest was angry about the logging. Celia asks Vam what he thinks, and he said they should leave. Right after a flock of crows is spooked by something and they fly overhead. Hooves are heard from down the road as Xorm listens in. A flatbed wagon and 2 horsemen are those approaching, Celia casts herself into invisibility. The horsemen catch up to us with the wagon pulled over. Two rangers approach, one of male and hooded with leathers and a bow, but masked and bright green. The other has a female dragonborn with white scales and horns, but dressed similarly. Her name is **Creopath** and she mentions the "lumbermen of her small village" overstepping their bounds and us making gold. There is some great beast stalking the woods and causing the overgrowth while eating townsfolk. Celia becomes uninvisible and asks Delg to tell them that the party will do it. The monster is like a troll and a werewolf combined, but doesn't spread lycanthropy, and does set traps. This is an intelligent beast that has left a witness who no longer talks. Creopath takes the party back to their village as Xorm wants to try and get information out of the broken logsman. The house of the man is completely boarded up and the man opens the door armed with a dagger. He refuses to talk and says "the nightmares are bad enough". Xorm tries to detect his thoughts but the man won't open the door again. The growth keeps coming back apparently around the village. They chop it out daily. The head of the Rangers Guild here is named **Parral** and he doesn't think we will be of more use than their failed rangers. Celia stumbles around drunk and knocks the hood off of a gambler, Delg spots that this person is an Elf and seems to be washed in rage, but he quells it and doesn't attack him. Celia offers platinum to make up for her mistake, but they tell her to just sit and play if she wants. The beast is a half-mile to the south and has increased it's rate of attack. After Celia mentions that Delg "has a hard-on for elves" the elf there whispers that "those beer bellied bastards always do". It doesn't seem to attack established locations that have been in the woods a long while. This creature doesn't seem to want the people of the town to enter the woods, lest it attack them. Borb snacks on sticks until night falls. Celia touches Russell and casts Fly on him when asked if she can fly. Vam suggests telling the town they are being attacked by the beast, then setting it on fire for them to abandon their "Ancestral Homes" so this beast is no longer a problem. Flying Russell starts to track the beast and does for a bit. Eventually he loses the tracks. Celia breaks concentration accidentally and Russell falls from the sky, hitting the bramble. Twigs snapping 200ft into the woods is heard. Vam puts up a Tiny Hut and stays in it, but the party leaves and Delg cuts his way to where he heard the sound. Something tugs on Delg and pulls him down, but he yanks himself free and notices it was a piece of bramble. The dirt, bramble and roots raise into Shambling Mound of some sort. Xorm and Vam don't notice what is even going on as Delg hasn't made a sound. Suddenly the Dwarven Battlecry rings out as Delg attacks what grabbed him. Delg gets sucked into the mound and suddenly goes quiet, but forces his way back out. Celia swigs a random potion in the Tiny hut with Vam. Suddenly her horns shrink and her skin turns to scales as she appears to be a Lizardfolk. Russell tosses a vial of fire on the pile of plant and then runs. Xorm runs towards the yelling at full speed. Vam sighs, then Dimension Doors to right beside the monsterous pile of plant as Delg chops into it again. Scalia dashes up even closer, as Russell pussies out to meet her while tossing vials. With a crack, Vam tries a Witch-Bolt but it heals. Eventually Delg gets restrained by the beast and pulled inside completely. Borb uses claw, it's not very effective. With his mind, Xorm grapples the monstrosity. Vam summons a Shadow Blade and uses the dim lighting to easily catch the Shambling Mound with his blade. From inside, Delg chops and smashes the beast. Celia tries to reach into the mound, but finds it solid. The Mound seems to be trying to get away but it is being held by Xorm. Xorm finishes off the mound and Delg falls out, able to breathe again. With another sketchy offer, Scalia tries to give Delg a potion, which he refuses to take Russell's instead. As a jug appears from Russell's supplies, he starts pouring salt water as the group heads back. --- EXP: 1000 (39,501 total, +1 for only Vam) --- Session 26 (15/01/2021) - (RifleGary/Slim and Muller/ZeDoctorRat Missing) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The party doesn't find Creopath, so they talk with Parral who is unimpressed with the kill and mentions going deeper. They head back to where they were and find it's regrown some. The Borb breaks through the bramble as the party follows. 200ft deep and nobody has noticed anything and Celia isn't paying attention. 500ft in Delg notices a pile of broken and gnawed bones in the bramble. They are human and it appears branches higher have been sheered off. There's hair and clothing in the branches above around 8ft up. The bird is redirected to that area to chomp in that way. Eventually claw marks are found on the tree. 2 sets of 5 claws each and sizeable. Bones are found and they seem to be from a Ettin. Up above a large troll like creature with 2 heads that is furry is up above. It has human features but scales in patches as well. It swoops through the branches and lands right on Xorm. He dodges it mostly and takes only a little damage. Xorm blows the creatures mind as Delg flies into a rage, trying to give the creature a new crack with his axe as it lands square into the beast twice. The beast calls and says Xorm is coming with him, while saying that Xorm is a sorcerer. It tries to pick him up, but Xorm slips out. It hops over Xorm and Vam hits it as it leaves the Bonfire. Xorm tries to retalliate, but fails. Ben moves in and gets some chops in. Vam walks over and Tolls the Dead on the beast as well. The beast tries again and picks up Xorm, then leaps back. Delg misses as he goes, Vam barely hits, and then Celia lands a touch on Xorm and Misty Steps away to the road with Xorm. This Two-Headed amalgam of evil charges Delg and his claws land into him. The claws glow black, causing searing pain and radiating through Delg. Celia makes Xorm invisible, and her hound is unable to do anything to the beast with it's small jaws. Xorm moves away and then yells at the Beast telepathically saying "I'm right here!" to confuse it. This Beast says "Must Have" to itself as it gets taunted. Delg misses twices and then hits. Vam moves closer again and casts a large Witch-Bolt into the beast. The creature gets bloodied, turns to Vam and then starts to carry him off instead. Celia forgets that she is hiding Xorm as she casts Fly on herself to move in. Xorm appears suddenly as he yells at the beast. Her dog moves in and continues to miss. To stop the creature from getting away with Vam, Xorm grapples him telepathically, and pushing himself to hold the beast. Delg misses this tough beast's skin 3x, but Vam's Witch Bolt strikes it again, charging off some hair. Vam is squished a bit by the beast, but it does no damage. Celia uses a Thunderstep, hurting Vam, Delg, and the beast. The surprised beast drops Vam finally and starts to turn to run. Xorm crushes in monster in it's grip, and the claws on his right hand shadow. Delg finally feels confident and hits twice, chopping the beast's spine and it goes limp. As the beast falls the woods feel calm. The bramble doesn't appear to be growing at all. Celia chops some hair from the beast as Vam asks Russell to get his bird to drag this thing back to town. This beast is dragged back to town and the Bramble seems to have receeded some. The village folk are there to greet the party and happy. They ask for a name of the party, and none is given. **Some money from the village is given (~200 coins mostly gold, no idea what).** **Parral tells Xorm of his brother "Baralese" who lives in Galadrel in Ruinther City and works at the college.** A celebration is had with the village, sharing a feast with Mead, Wine, and Meats. A man is starting a statue of Celia so she asks how she is supposed to fit it in her bag, and is described. **Creopath points the party to a Sorcerer that lives on the shore of the lake that matches her description.** With that information, the party heads to find her and is warned she could be dangerous. A man is found with strange characters everywhere on canvases. He is dressed rugged but stylish with a leather vest and a hat. He is facing the lake writing. Xorm calls hello to him and he is surprised. His name is **Euwin**. The man has a white moustache and goatee when he turns around there. He invites the party for some Tea. This man speaks to each member of the party, finding out about them. Celia pulls out 2 potions and offers him one, but he says he doesn't drink. Delg is motioning to not drink it to the man, and Celia gets sad and puts it away. Xorm offers to drink one with her instead. He lifts his mask and takes a swig as Celia does. Vam quickly casts Shielf of Faith on himself as Celia grows a body-length ginger beard. Suddenly Xorm's robe's tassles start wiggling funny and then are confused and start talking. His mask starts talking as well saying it should be on display as art and not on a face. His foot wraps talk as well as his socks. Euwin says he needs help with a problem. He is a cartographer mapping this region for 10 years. 20-40gp for each map, and he'd give one of the valuable ones for free. Apparently he has an insect problem. Moths are eating his maps. They keep showing up in the bags when he buys them. Celia offers the Chicken to eat the moths, but the man doesn't want a cock on his maps. Vam starts a ritual to Detect Magic in the area as Xorm checks for odd items. The moths are real, but magical in origin. This bag appears to be cursed, but not the item itself. There is some curse of Euwin, based on conjuration. Vam slowly dispells the curse off of the man. **He gives an illegally copied scroll from the Queensdale library written by Lain Came. Treasure beneath Queensdale may be on the map.** He has met the Witch, and she cursed him. He upset her and she kicked him out. Travel is continued until nightfall and the next day a small hut is found with a placed stone path leading up to it. Out font a small fire pit is cold and a picnic table has a basket of fruit on it. There are moths growing around it. Vam knocks with a mage hand and the door opens. Celia peeks in and sees 20ft forward and a lever with a stone wall. Celia charges in and Vam follows. Celia finds nothing and leaves disappointed. Vam pulls the lever and finds a stone room, and enters. The rest of the party goes to join. The stone door closes behind them. A countdown starts happening and a lever appears. The voice starts again after some clicking. The lever disappears and three levers appear. Xorm pulls the centre one. Six come up and it keeps going. The walls, then the ceiling. After multiple cycles the door behind opens back up. When Xorm tries to leave it closes in his face. Eventually they give up and let it count out. It goes back down and congratulates the party. A blank archway with a button is found, and Xorm pushes it. It turns into a portal and he walks through. A grotto and a pond are found on the other side. There a Cabin is found and a woman rocking on a chair. Vam casts Light on Celia as she goes to walk through. Her fingers and gnarled looking and she slowly rocks. Vam asks if she loves moths. She does. Celia explains the tiny man. She says she payed him to get us here. This is the Bird-Witch from the boat. The crows start to swarm as she asks for the artifacts. Vam starts mumbling about the Crows eating the moths. The pond turns into a swamp and the area gets ugly. Vam walks up and fires a Bolt of Fire at the Witch, who responds with a swarm of crows that start pecking at Vam. Xorm blasts the small brains out of all of the crows and the witch cries out in pain. Celia flys up and stands in front of Vam, trying to block him. Delg charges in at a full sprint to the Witch. Angry, Vam returns a powerful Witch Bolt that latches onto her and burns with lightning. She attacks the oncoming Dwarf, but he resists it with his mighty constitution. As he backs up Xorm returns most of her birds to her in a giant bloody mass that makes an aweful thwack as it goes. She doesn't seem to be hurt, but she is covered in dead birds, nearly waist deep. Celia moves up and casts Darkness on the Witch, extinguishing the light on her, then summons her dog. Delg starts to move around to cut her off behind the house since he can't see anything Vam moves closer and shocks her again. The earth starts to move and she rises up above the darkness on the ground calling for us to fear her. She looks bloodied. Celia tries to hit her with her sword but misses and her dog is no better off. Xorm deals some more damage with his brain. Celia drops the darkness and tries to knock the Witch off her pedestal, but fails. She goes for a grapple and fails to even fondle her. Delg gets her with one Javelin, and misses with another. Vam continues to shock the old hag as she attacks Xorm with Lightning. The lightning jumps to Vam and Celia, downing Vam and ending the Witch Bolt. With a few thoughts, Xorm goes for a brain pop, and the witch falls to a knee and calls for Xorm to do it again. Celia puts the old Hag to sleep on top of the pillar of earth she made. Delg throws a Javelin, not knowing she's asleep, and it lands into her calf, waking her in a shriek of pain. The Witch seems to be evasive on top and blurry as she moves. She says "You don't know the power of those items you fool" to Delg. Suddenly her heads explodes and her body lands in front of Celia. Xorm yells "take that you bitch!" in celebration. Celia searches the stable Vam for medicine and finds an Emblaming Kit. Vam puts a Tiny Hut up and then blows the outhouse. The portal burns with it. Xorm leaves the party to find Elder Brains. --- EXP: 48,000 total (instant level up) --- Session 27 (22/01/2021) - (RifleGary/Slim and Muller/ZeDoctorRat Missing) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The morning comes and Celia is up early as she has been dry for a day. Off to the swamp they go. 12 horses barreling towards the party appear (apparently in a race) and a human man wearing plate appears startled and he moves aside for him. As they pass one guy falls from his saddle and is dangling from a stirrup about to hit this man. The man swings and misses the stirrup and the rider continues being dragged to the party. As the rider nears, Celia drags him up in the air with Telekensis and Vam shoots the stirrup through with a fire-bolt. The young rider asks to be put down and is thanked. Apparently someone shot at him with a crossbow. His riding team ride back and help him back up on their horse to go and find his. The walking man approaches the party. He asks about the riders and then about some witch. Celia says she owes her a chair and Vam says she's already dead. This man appears blind and holds up a very crude sketch of a bird. The man's name is Arthur. Celia asks what's wrong with his eyes. He slowly gets introduced to the rest of the party. A day of travel together passes and the Tiny Hut is put up for a night's sleep. Arthur notices some trouble sleeping due to the number of toads croaking. Some more Toads start coming and a mass and Vam wakes up and then sees the danger and immediately falls back to sleep. Delg runs out and wacks at the frogs, not doing much. Eventually Arthur goes out, grabs a branch, sets it alight, then uses it to kill off some. After that Arthur falls asleep, but Delg and Celia cannot find their way to dreamland. Delg talks to a frog to ask why, and it just seems to be doing a mating call, asking for sex. Celia casts sleep on herself and falls asleep after asking Delg to promise to wake her up. Delg falls asleep as well due to the spell. They leave in the morning and travel until Dusk. Some ruins on a hillside are spotted and explored. The place is proper fucked due to time. This is in old fortress and has some small figure in a ghostly white colour, pacing, making some noise talking, but not footsteps. Celia tries to feed this thing a potion. It looks over and then goes back to pacing. Delg walks into a room, finding some old parchment that seems to show that this was an old Guard outpost protecting the main road. Vam tries to find out what the ghost is here for via prayer and just finds it to be a lost soul. As time passes the ghost drops to it's knees, sobs, and starts to pray. With arms outstretched, Celia tries to hug the ghost and gets pushed away by some force, but it doesn't react. Arthur finds a door and kicks his way in. Chests are locked in the room behind, one being metal. Eventually the Captain's quarters is found where the roof is caved in. They find a book in the room, not of much use to Arthur. Eventually they give it to Vam. The ghost has stood up and is walking towards the party. It doesn't want the book. It starts to levitate up as is climbing some stairs. He appears to have his hands folded as if shackled. He drops 5ft and appears to be hanging off the ground. It appears he climbed the gallows to his own death. Suddenly everyone in the party feels something around their throats. It stops for all but Celia, who squeaks "guys" scared. Vam asks what's wrong with her and points. Arthur comes over and tries to clear her windpipe as she is choking, and Vam times Dispel Magic to look like it works. Celia says "that was a really big bug" and moves on, slightly confused. When Elven swords and arrows hit it, they shatter. The hills are to the east. He explains this to the party and says he has visions now instead of just feelings. Celia awakes covered in drool and asks for Delg to explain it again as she is confused. The mountains that overlook the swamps to the East are what he say. There are some other patrons at the tables and breakfast is being enjoyed. Arthur gets a coffee for a copper. The bartender is asked about Minotaurs by Celia, trying to find another for Vam to study. He says Portville would be the place to go as it's near the sea around here and there's not as many guards on the roads. The **Spiked Skag** is the bartender's favourite part of Portville. It's on a pillar of stone in the center of the city. It's now a tavern. Celia takes a deep inhale and gets a strong smell of rot and nearly vomits. 15ft down the road there is a pile of Walkers that were dispatched through the night, and the breeze it taking the taste and smell right to her, express delivery. She pulls out Gary and feeds him the corpses... He pecks some and seems happy enough about this situation oddly enough. Chickens are terrifying. With an excited Celia pull, Delg is asked to lead the way, right as he starts talking to the Barkeep about his enchanting Obelisk and if the man has seen it yet. This bartender gives visual directions to the blind man and the party leaves. The party buys some mounts (2 mules, 2 horses) at the stables. A kid is climbing off a cart with his mom saying "That's the party DROGARD!". He runs up to Celia, who is on her new horse. She says Delg is the real hero. As Delg goes to hug the kid, his hat falls and his Elf ears are shown. Delg looks angry and then tries to crush the kid while he hugs him. A rib crunches and the kid shrieks. Vam runs in and dimension doors the kid back to the cart. Arthur questions Delg who says he hates elves. The kid's hat is still in the mud. The mother screams and takes off without letting Russell help. Celia uses telekenesis to put the kid's hat on Delg's head. Delg yells at Celia and throws it off. Delg explains how much he hates elves and wants to kill them. Arthur asks if the guards have seen the cart, but they don't seem to care and were playing a game of dice. He eventually finds a larger building with many people inside. It's some Community House. He identifies some whimpering, and knocks on the door. The woman seems to be the same one, and she asks the soliciter to go away because she's dealing with an emergency. Help is offered by Arthur, and she calls him "one of those bastards". He offers Russell's help, and keeping Delg well away. She is a human and not an elf, the kid was adopted. Russell is fetched and Celia follows. The kid has two bruised and fractured ribs on his left side. Celia runs off to catch up to Delg, but he refuses to respond to her as he trudges on. Eventually he says "yes", and she offers to get beaten up for her pointy ears. The Dwarf rexplains that it's the elves, not the ears. She offers to talk "hoity-toity" for him, but he just shrugs her off. The mother offers some form of payment, so Arthur appologies for the actions and refuses the money. She gives a him a hug, this time no ribs are broken, and they leave to rejoin the party. The Vibrations of Celia's new mount seem to enthrall her cock. Everyone meets back up eventually and as travel is had, some Dwarven Ruins are found nearing dusk, with a fallen Watchtower nearby as well. Suddenly Delg is ripped away from reality to a vision of a battlefield. The Fortress isn't in ruins yet, but has some holes in the walls from where the elves have attacked. Dwarven contraptions scale the walls, firing molten balls of rock, killing both Dwarves and elves and leaving flaming chunks across the battlefield. SNAP BACK TO REALITY right as Delg would die. Arthur notices that Delg's heart, lungs, and mind are working like mad and asks what's up. Celia slaps Delg, asking if he's ok. He explains the vision and the battlefield. Vam feels a click of metal on the ground while he asks Delg if the death of all these elves make him feel well. He picks up a piece of rusted metal that used to be an elvish blade and stashes it in his bag. The party continues to the keep. It seems this place has been inhabited recently. There is a larger set of boot prints here, and they are wide. Delg realizes these are of Dwarves. Nothing much is here, but the party bunks down for the night. There is some feel of great power and death here. Vam sits down and starts praying to Myrkul. He gets a vision of the miracle of the end and feels inspired by his god, unsure if it was himself reflecting or a sighn. As morning rises, a walker lumbers in and Arthur finishes it off as it gives it's last growl. On the horizon, there is still a tall slender figure on the horizon. Vam suggests using the bird to scout and Russell sends it to pick it up and bring it back. The bird perches on it and returns. Arthur asks what it brought back, and it was nothing. Upon exploring, this was the obelisk Delg was looking for. A vision hits him like a tonne of Dwarven bricks that are often used to kill elves. A Dwarven mage carries a suit of armour with royal guards and an acolyte following him. They are descending a sprial staircase around the obelisk. Arthur stomps around and finds the ground to be fairly hollow. Vam Detects Magic here and finds the Obelisk is Enchanted. Vam points out the hammer has a key like protrusion on the bottom, and asks if that will do anything. Delg looks around for anything to shove his handle in and fails. Arthur doesn't find anything that would be a key hole. The dirt seems to have moved in later, so Arthur finds where you could safely teleport to. Vam refuses, saying he'll die down there. Russell's bird is commanded to start shovelling out, but then he realizes that he has a 10ft hole on a patch on his jacket, and he tosses it down. A cylindrical hole is found that might take some sort of key, and the top of the stairwell is removed and some of the stone. The party can see inside, but the hammer key is used anyway. Eventually everyone makes their way in, and the bird squeezes in. Down the stairs is a door made of solid stone with another round hole in it. The hammer opens it. There is crude chalk markings on the walls are there seems to be small cots, like this was a nursery. The door behind the party disappears. A Corpse of a small Dwarven Child starts to lift up, mumified skin, hair tufts, and bones are all that is left as Russell inspects the bed it lays in. He punts it. It's last breath echos out as it's apparent soul flies around until it disappears. Another door is opened and the party gets all through it and into a hallway. Two more rooms are found. Little boney feet sprint across the ground towards Arthur as he enters. He immediately closes the door and boney hands are heard clawing at the door. The party argues over what to do, so Arthur peeks back in, seeing if he can handle it. As Arthur stomps on one of these small creatures, Russell tosses a vial in and combusts a good chunk of the creatures. After that, Arthur cuts the rest down easily with his sword. They put up no fight.
