# Training! So first things first we need to learn what kind of things we need to know. ## Basic cybersecurity - https://hackblossom.org/cybersecurity/ how to be anonymous online - https://www.reddit.com/r/opsec/comments/lgdp1k/which_opsec_related_online_materialcourse_and/ -> OPSEC basics (thanks to OrangeBurrito!) ## OSINT - https://learn.baselgovernance.org/enrol/index.php?id=79 -> Basel institute of governance basic osint training - https://inteltechniques.com/ -> List of resources etc. https://www.sans.org/blog/what-are-sock-puppets-in-osint/ -> Sock puppets in - OSINT (very important) ## Tools - https://start.me/pages/int/osint -> A very long list of OSINT tools and resources. - https://osintcurio.us/ -> OSINT tutorials - https://www.bellingcat.com/category/resources/ -> Tutorials! - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrFPX1Vfqk3ehZKSFeb9pVIHqxqrNW8Sy -> Also tutorials - https://www.aware-online.com/en/osint-tutorials/ -> Even more tutorials - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwA6MmbeGNo&ab_channel=TheCyberMentor -> 5 hour complete OSINT course ## Linux - https://www.virtualbox.org/ -> To install a virtual machine - https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop -> Ubuntu desktop (so you can learn linux as well! It's less messy than the Kali I use) - http://cheat.sh/ -> Linux cheatsheet (thanks to OrangeBurrito!) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42iQKuQodW4 (How does the Linux filesystem works? Also thanks to OrangeBurrito!) Anyway, what do I do generally? 1. Make a plan. I'm going to research, what and where, exactly? 2. That gives me a rough idea of the tools I will need. So, let's say I'm going to research John Doe on Twitter. I want to understand what kind of shit he does with his twitter account. I start looking for the all John Doe-s. What kind of information do I have on him? If I have his email i can start using a tool that checks if this particular mail is used on the site. 3. What kind of posts is he doing? If I'm researching a missing person I'd look for posts that express dissatisfaction with his life, fights... 4. I log my information 5. I write a report on my findings.
