09:42:39 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
regarding ultrawarm - I will highlight - for our use case - we would be in trouble if Asynchronous search did not exist.
09:43:56 From Kyle Davis to Everyone:
@Ryan - do you use Ultrawarm today?
09:44:03 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
oh yes
09:44:09 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
and cold
09:46:32 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
would love to see from the experts if there were better guidance on how to optimize for it
09:47:15 From Kyle Davis to Everyone:
@Ryan - Good feedback - not sure if that would be right at this moment in this meeting (since it has no *current* version in OSS).
09:47:34 From Kyle Davis to Everyone:
But it might be worth while bringing it up as we talk more about the proposal
09:47:41 From Kyle Davis to Everyone:
It = optimization 🙂
09:47:54 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
i think - especially now that data streams exists - there are some opportunities to talk about optimization as a whole
09:48:11 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
for most use cases - wish is timestamped data
09:50:00 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
https://opensearch.org/docs/latest/opensearch/data-streams/
09:51:39 From Ani ( OpenSearch ) to Everyone:
@Ryan , what optimizartions are you thinking?
09:53:27 From Ryan Paras to Everyone:
well again - ultrawarm is specific to AWS, so don't want to get carried away - but with data streams being there - i think there are oppertunities to use that standardized pattern to "cheat" and make ultrawarm more optimized
09:54:08 From Ani ( OpenSearch ) to Everyone:
Lets talk for a minute after this
09:54:42 From Ani ( OpenSearch ) to Everyone:
Ultra-warm is lucene index on s3/ but we were thinking of using data in s3 and meta data in the index for quick lookup
09:54:49 From Ani ( OpenSearch ) to Everyone:
There we could use data streams
09:55:10 From Ani ( OpenSearch ) to Everyone:
