  • Intro This is the transcript derived from my opening speech made at the Arweave Day In Asia event in Singapore on the 12th Sep, 2023. Most of the ideas are tailored towards Arweave centric builders, but at the same time applicable to builders outside of the arweave ecosystem. The article is close to the exact transcript so please bear with me on the grammar. Disclaimer: SevenX Ventures is an investor in the Arweave ecosystem. • This article is not a shill of friends.tech. I don't think the product of it's current form can scale to the extent that it replaces Twitter (perhaps it's not intended to). I do think it gives a good shot to luxury social media and can potentially inspire a new generation of online luxury experiences. Thanks for the collaborative effort of my friends & key holders on Friend.Tech. Shout out to Siddharth from Superscrypt, Hongyu from Mercurius Club, Tony from Marine Snow and Steph from VESSEL. Disclaimer: SevenX Ventures is an investor in Marine Snow. What Friend.tech is and what it isn't. There are plenty of resources available for you to understand how Friend.tech work. So in this article, I will just cover a few common misconceptions I have seen in the community. Friend.tech is a platform for exclusive content: Yes it looks like that, but arguably it's not the best use case for that. It's challenging to sustain exclusive content through means other than continuous subscription income. Sustainability relies on continuously producing new quality content. Maintaining a uniform user cost is essential to avoid information arbitrage to the fullest extent. Friend.tech does not offer sustained subscription revenue for creators. Rather, it only allows income via trading fees.

  • Uniswap v4 is just announced. Although it's not fully built out yet, we expect the community to widely explore the boundary of newly enabled possibilities. Since there might be a ton of articles explaining how powerful v4 is on the defi side of things, I would like to address how Uniswap v4 can inspire a new category of blockchain infrastructure: coprocessors. Short intro on Uniswap v4 As described in the whitepaper , v4 contains mainly 4 improvements: Hooks: Hooks are externally deployed contracts that execute some developer-defined logic at a specified point in a pool's execution. These hooksallow integrators to create a concentrated liquidity pool with flexi-ble and customizable execution. Singleton: UNISWAP v4 uses a singleton design pattern where all poolsare managed by a single contract, making pool deployment 99% cheaper. Flash Accounting: each operation updates an internal net balance, known as a delta, only making external trans-fers at the end of the lock. Flash accounting simplifies complex pool operations, such as atomic swapping and adding. Native ETH: allows for both WETH and ETH pairs.
