Builders hack but lack clear paths to ongoing involvement in the vast & fragmented Etheruem ecosystem. They abandon projects, get poached etc. EF‘s pivot is great but its not about supporting the application/usecase layer. I assume the idea is to leave this to L2s & Etherealize, both of each have issues: - L2s are incentivized to focus on internal solutions, which doesnt solve fragmentation - Etherealize is focused on institutional adoption, which i guess makes sense, but yeah.. I‘ve been vocal about **the overfocus on scaling & infra instead of filling up all that blockspace**, so I should just (re)try to do it myself 🤷‍♂️ Kind of now or never, eh? # What Survey the problem space & gather the most important builder resources. Talk to a shitton of builders at Devconnect & identify their biggest pains. Define the lowest hanging fruit & get started at hacking at these issues one by one. Build a portal into Ethereum, a place where new builders can get the "full" picture of the ecosystem. # First 4 steps ## Pre-Devconnect Curate a 20ish person group of high level EVM players that will star as the initial DApp Avengers or whatever. I‘ll do 1:1 calls to meet, understand each person‘s view of the situation, existing related initiatives etc. Create the MVP knowledge repo using info collected from the initial group. ## At Devconnect Do a shitton of builder interviews using structured questions about their journey, obstacles etc. See if they find the repo useful, gauge their needs for things like long term mentorships, strategic connections, work opportunities, connections to accelerators or investors etc. ## Final Days at Devconnect Present research findings and do a design sprint to identify lowest hanging fruit. ## Post-Devconnect Run a few pilot projects for 3 months, then reasess. If success, we self-fund more experiments or start begging for the EF, ConsenSys, L2s etc. for some funding. # Potential ideas ## "Build on Ethereum" site MVP Basic "Build on Ethereum" website with an LLM explaining WHY build on Ethereum, and sending people to various existing resources & paths. ### Some ideas for later Interactive builder journey map, mentor matching system, accelerator connections etc. The interactive gamified map and comprehensive platform are aspirational.
