### State of MetaCartel
Judging by our telegram group, grants pipeline & inflow of funds, one could conclude MetaCartel is dead. And as a grants giving DAO, I'd agree.

Where we're at as a project:
- OG builders all building their own projects
- MetaCartel ecosystem fragmented across a bunch of orgs & tools
- Nobody doing anything inside MetaCartel DAO itself
- Slowly bleeding out the treasury without making an impact

MetaCartel is among the first, still living DAOs - a pioneer of independent grants programs. Altogether, we have centuries of DAO expertise & reputation.
### The Hope
Looking at MetaCartel as an ecosystem, it's alive & well.

Besides giving out grants, we gave birth to a bunch of DAOs:
- Raid Guild
- DAOhaus
- MetaGame
- MetaFactory

As well as events & content:
- MCON, MetaFest & DAOcember
- ETHos events pod
- MetaMedia
- MetaCampus

Across DAOhaus, Raid Guild & MetaGame alone, we have a whole pile of tools, building blocks & capable builders. MetaCartel's children had children, some of whom had more children - the lineage grows. We are fractured & siloed but we're a force.
### Now what?

>Sow seeds indoors from late winter to mid-spring – an early start will give you earlier and longer harvests. Most chili seeds will germinate, so only sow a few more than you need, in case of losses.

Grant programs are more plentiful these days & a few $k doesn't make a big impact. Having a whole ecosystem of knowledge, builders & tools to support new projects does. We are also unlikely to be able to raise more $ for grants.

And MetaCartel was always more than a grants program - a community of builders.
We know this, it's in our Community-first manifesto. Yalor was even arguing we should fully adopt this philosophy to focus on events - and got almost $100k for it.

I'd argue we also succeeded more as an ecosystem than a grants program.

Instead of trying to reboot MetaCartel DAO itself, we strengthen the ecosystem by taking everything we’ve learnt & built over the past 4 years. Instead of slowly bleeding to 0, we reunite the MetaCartel ecosystem to build 1 great thing, together.
