--- tags: Raids --- # Blackwing Lair ## Preparation ### Base Consumables See https://hackmd.io/@Haven/Consumables for standard raiding consumables ### Additional Recommended Consumables - Greater Fire Protection Potions - Greater Shadow Protection Potions - Stratholme Holy Water - Free Action Potions (Melee DPS/Tanks) - Limited Invulnerability Potions (DPS) - Restorative Potion ## Razorgore the Untamed ### Positioning #### Phase 1 ![](https://i.imgur.com/SUQDd01.jpg) - Healers will be in the middle in range of all four corner groups - Range DPS will be split in half, each focusing two corners - Melee DPS/Tanks will be split in quarters, each focusing one corner #### Phase 2 ![](https://i.imgur.com/x7jnEXf.jpg) - The idea here is just to have the Range DPS/Healers able to LOS fireball volley. We typically have used a pillar to do this. ### Pull Kill the adds on the platform, get Razorgore Mind Controlled with the orb. Mana users can drink before Phase 1 starts ### Phase 1 #### Egg Guy One person (Garek) will be using the orb to Mind Control Razorgore and destroy all the eggs #### Tanks Hang out in your corner and pick up Mages/Legionnaires. Keep Legionnaires faced away from Melee DPS. #### Healers Don't blow through all your mana, you will need it for Phase 2. #### DPS You will be focusing on killing a continuous stream of spawning mobs. They will be focused in this order: - **Mages**: Do not interrupt them - **Legionnaires**: Melee, do not stand in the cleave Hunters will be kiting the Dragonkin. Druids and Warlocks may be called on to hibernate/fear them if things get out of hand. ### Phase 2 Once the final egg is broken, Razorgore will run and murder the Egg Guy (Garek) since he will have unlimited threat. Ideally will will have the Main Tank (Sauceboss) break the last egg eventually to take advantage of this. #### Abilities - **Conflagrate**: like in UBRS, a strong DoT that needs to be healed through. Also wipes threat and disorients. Also does AoE damage, so don't stand near the victim. - **Warstomp**: AoE stun, Tanks should use a Free Action Potion to avoid threat issues - **Fireball Volley**: Cast AoE fireball. Ranged should all be LOSing this. #### Tanks A main tank and off tank are required for this fight. The current target will periodically get Conflagrated (like UBRS), and the off tank needs to be second on threat since Razorgore is not tauntable #### Healers The only people taking damage should be the tanks and melee DPS. Make sure to keep the tanks alive during Conflagrate, but don't ignore the offtank while that is happening. #### DPS Watch your threat, don't pass the offtank. Melee, don't stand next to the tanks when they are Conflagrated. #### Class Specific Instructions - **Shamans**: Fire resist totems ## Vaelastrasz the Corrupt ### Positioning ![](https://i.imgur.com/PveU9Cc.jpg) ### Fight #### Abilities - **Essence of the Red**: Unlimited resources for everyone (mana, rage, etc.) - **Burning Adrenaline**: Every 15 seconds Vael will apply Buring Adrenaline to a random mana user, and every 45 seconds also applies on his highest threat target. Lowers the target's max HP every second by 5 percent, increases their damage by 100 percent and makes all spells instant cast. Upon death the target will explode killing almost anything that is caught in the explosion. If you get this, you must run away to the safe spot. Feel free to go ham with casts as long as you don't pull threat. - **Fire Nova**: Deals consistent fire damage to the raid for the duration of the fight. - **Cleave/Tail Swipe**: Don't stand in front of him or behind him #### Tanks Go hard with threat generation, you are the limiting factor to how much the DPS can pump. Offtank needs to stay second in threat for when the main tank gets Burning Adrenaline at 45 seconds. #### Healers There will be tons of periodic damage to the entire raid, pump that HPS. #### DPS - **Melee**: Don't pull aggro - **Ranged**: Go hard, you shouldn't be able to pull aggro #### Class Specific Instructions - **Priests**: hopefully you are specced into Healing Focus. Prayer of Healing when your group is low, weave Renews/Flash Heals in between. You will also apply Power Word: Shield to as many people as possible before the pull (focus tanks, then healers, then caster DPS) - **Shamans**: I don't know what you do, heal stuff. Maybe threat reduction totems - **Druids**: Ask Natahote what he does, do that. - **Warriors**: do not pull aggro and wipe the raid. You need to stay behind the offtank in threat - **Rogues**: go hard, you shouldn't be able to pull aggro with Vanish ## Deathtalon Packs ### Overview There are two packs of these after Vael. The packs contain the following mob types: - **Seethers**: kill first - Flame Buffet: must be dispelled by priests - Enrage: must be dispelled by hunters - **Flamescales**: kill second - Flameshock: Fire damage plus DoT - Charge: everyone in the raid will stack, like for Lava Surgers in MC - **Captains**: kill third, should be kited around the balcony by hunters - Aura of Flames - Mark of Detonation: must be dispelled by priests - Commanding Shout: wakes up other Deathtalons from sleep or charm - Cleave: don't stand in front you dingus - **Wyrmkin**: kill last, should be chain hibernated by a dedicated druid on each (use rank 1 to avoid OOM) - Blastwave: AoE damage/slow - Fireball Volley: AoE damage ## Suppression Room ### Overview There are two rooms after the Deathtalon Packs, full of the following mob types: - Corrupted Whelps - Death Talon Hatchers - Clackwing Taskmasters We will move as a stacked up group up the right side of both of these rooms. Hunters will pull the Death Talon Hatchers and Blackwing Taskmasters one by one. If multiples pull, the priority is Taskmaster, then Hatcher. While these are being pulled, the whelps will be AoEed down. Rogues will be stealted and disabling the Suppression Devices in the way so the raid can move up. #### Tanks Whichever tank is assigned to whelps, do your best to maintain AoE threat. #### Healers Drink whenever you can, conserve mana. #### DPS Focus the mobs the hunters are pulling, then on the whelps #### Class Specific Instructions - **Hunters**: no pets - **Mages**: be ready with a sheep in case we pull too many big boys ## Broodlord Lashlayer ### Positioning ![](https://i.imgur.com/XZps0wv.jpg) We will all be starting in that middle cube along the right wall. Do not go past the curtain on the wall or you will pull the boss. After the pull, get to your position and hug the walls to avoid pulling whelps. ### Fight #### Abilities - **Blast Wave**: AoE that damages and slows within 20 yards. Only tanks /melee should be getting hit since Ranged should outrange this, though melee can LoS it (tricky since it is on a variable timer) - **Mortal Strike**: Massive damage and 50% healing reduction on the tank. Priests need to use Power Word: Shield and all healers need to spam the tank. - **Knock Away**: reduces threat and knocks back #### Tanks We will have two tanks maintaining threat due to Knock away. Broodlord isn't tauntable. Improved Demoralizing Shout makes Mortal Strike easier on the healers. #### Healers Keep the tank alive during Mortal Strike #### DPS - **Melee**: LoS Blast Wave using the door, and watch your threat. If you pull threat, you need to go stand where the tanks are immediately. - **Ranged**: All you have to do is avoid pulling threat. If you pull threat, you need to go stand where the tanks are immediately. ## Lab Packs ### Overview Spread out as much as possible when fighting these, as most the damage is AoE. The packs contain the following mob types: - **Blackwing Warlocks**: kill first - Rain of Fire: AoE fire damage, don't stand in fire - Demon Portal: Summons a felguard after 30 seconds, banish them until ready to kill - Shadow Bolt: Random shadow damage - **Blackwing Spellbinders**: kill second - Immune to magic damage - Polymorph: priests should dispel this - Flamestrike: AoE fire damage, don't stand in fire - **Death Talon Overseers**: kill third - Resistant to most schools of magic, vulnerable to one - Fire Blast: targeted fire damage - Cleave: don't stand in front you dingus - **Blackwing Technicians**: kill last, should be kited around the suppression room by a hunter - Aggro as a group - Dynamite: AoE damage, avoided by a hunter running laps ## Firemaw ### Positioning ![](https://i.imgur.com/2pf6E9H.jpg) Don't enter the gate until ready to pull. ### Fight #### Abilities - **Shadow Flame**: Frontal cone shadow damage. Tank should be the only one hit, and wearing the Onyxia Scale Cloak. It is on a timer, so healers should be pre-casting and pre-shielding in preparation. - **Wing Buffet**: Knock-back and threat drop. It is on a timer, so the off tank should taunt Firemaw before he casts this to keep the main tank at the top of threat. - **Thrash**: extra auto attacks every once in a while - **Flame Buffet**: Stacking fire DoT on everyone in LoS, applied every few seconds. Also increases fire damage taken. #### Tanks **Equip Onyxia Scale Cloak.** Main tank and off tank need to make sure their backs are against the wall to avoid the boss moving when Wing Buffet is applied. Fire resist gear should be worn to help with Flame Buffet. Off tank needs to taunt Firemaw ~4 seconds before Wing Buffet. #### Healers Keep all the tanks topped up, pre-cast big heals and pre-shield on the main tank for Shadow Flame. Stay out of LoS of Firemaw. #### DPS Don't pull aggro, especially near when Shadow Flame is cast. At 5 or 6 stacks of Flame Buffet, break LoS until they drop off. If you want to wear some fire resist/use Fire Protection Potions, you will be able to do more DPS. - **Melee**: LoS Blast Wave using the door, and watch your threat. If you pull threat, you need to go stand where the tanks are immediately. - **Ranged**: All you have to do is avoid pulling threat. If you pull threat, you need to go stand where the tanks are immediately. ## Wyrmguard Packs ### Overview The only notable thing these guys do is a 5 second stun. Because of this, threat will be annoying and each will have its own tank holding them apart. They are also resistant to certain schools of magic depending on their color, so casters will need to be careful not to pull aggro. Free Action potions on the tanks make this easier. ## Ebonroc ### Positioning ![](https://i.imgur.com/yXRkcSN.jpg) ### Fight #### Abilities - **Shadow Flame**: Frontal cone shadow damage. Tank should be the only one hit, and wearing the Onyxia Scale Cloak. It is on a timer, so healers should be pre-casting and pre-shielding in preparation. - **Wing Buffet**: Knock-back and threat drop. - **Thrash**: extra auto attacks every once in a while - **Shadow of Ebonroc**: Causes Ebonroc to be healed by hitting targets with this debuff. #### Tanks **Equip Onyxia Scale Cloak.** Three tanks can all fight for threat, just make sure someone is taunting when the current tank gets Shadow of Ebonroc. #### Healers Keep all the tanks topped up, pre-cast big heals and pre-shield on the main tank for Shadow Flame. Only the tanks should take any damage. #### DPS Don't pull aggro ## Flamegor ### Positioning ![](https://i.imgur.com/t00cPMD.jpg) ### Fight #### Abilities - **Shadow Flame**: Frontal cone shadow damage. Tank should be the only one hit, and wearing the Onyxia Scale Cloak. It is on a timer, so healers should be pre-casting and pre-shielding in preparation. - **Wing Buffet**: Knock-back and threat drop. It is on a timer, so the off tank should taunt Flamegor before he casts this to keep the main tank at the top of threat. - **Thrash**: extra auto attacks every once in a while - **Enrage**: When Flamegor is enraged, he will periodically cast Fire Nova every few seconds that does raid-wide damage. Hunters do your thing. #### Tanks **Equip Onyxia Scale Cloak.** Pretty much just an easier version of Firemaw. Off tank needs to taunt Flamegor ~4 seconds before Wing Buffet. #### Healers Keep all the tanks topped up, pre-cast big heals and pre-shield on the main tank for Shadow Flame. Only the tanks should take any damage, unless enrage is up too long. Then, the raid will take periodic damage. #### DPS Don't pull aggro. Eat a Wing Buffet if you want to drop threat and go hard. ## Chromaggus ### Positioning ![](https://i.imgur.com/EmnZ91N.jpg) ### Phase 1 #### Abilities - **Chromaggus' Breaths**: hits everyone in LoS 360 degrees around Chromaggus. All but Time Lapse need to be LoS'd by everyone but the main tank. Each week, we will get two of these five types: - **Bronze - Time Lapse**: Stuns for 6 seconds, reducing health and threat by 50% for the duration. This is the most important one, DPS will need to stay in LoS and the offtank will need to break LoS so they can become the main tank. - **Black - Ignite Flesh**: Deals ~750 fire damage every 3 seconds. Lasts 1 minute. Can stack. - **Blue - Frost Burn**: Deals ~1400 frost damage and increases the time between melee attacks by 80%. Lasts 15 seconds. DPS needs to be careful of threat when coming back. - **Green - Corrosive Acid**: Deals ~1000 nature damage every 3 seconds and reduces Armor by 4500. Lasts 15 seconds. Tanks will need a Stoneshield Potion active, and should save their cooldowns for when they get the debuff. - **Red - Incinerate**: Deals ~4000 fire damage. - **Brood Afflictions**: raid wide debuffs, ignore LoS. If you get all five, you will turn into a drakonid and wipe the raid. Must be dispelled. - **Bronze**: Stuns every 4 seconds, removable with Hourglass Sand. Priority is Tank(s) > Healers > DPS. - **Black**: Curse, increases fire damage by 100%. Needs to be removed from the tank especially if either Ignite Flesh or Incinerate are the active breaths - **Blue**: Magic, 50 MP5 mana burn. Needs to be dispelled from all mana users, prioritizing the healers. - **Green**: Poison, small DoT and reduces healing by 50%. Tank needs to be cured ASAP. - **Red**: Disease, small DoT and heals Chromaggus if the afflicted dies. - **Enrage**: Hunters need to dispel. - **Magic Vulnerability**: Chromaggus will shummer and become weak against one type of magic and strong against another. Be careful not to pull threat. #### Tanks Only one tank is required unless Time Lapse is one of the breaths. If Time Lapse is one of the breaths, there will be a tank swap between the main and off tank. He is not tauntable, so you need to generate decent threat. #### Healers Almost all the damage should be on the main tank. Chromaggus hits hard, though. #### DPS Don't pull aggro. It isn't critical to burn him down until Phase 2. Make sure you are LoSing breaths. #### Class Specific Instructions - **All Dispellers**: Prioritize anyone close to 5 afflictions! - **Priests**: Prioritize dispelling Blue then curing Red - **Druids**: Prioritizing decursing Black from the tank, then curing Green from the raid - **Shamans**: Green and Red - **Mages**: Decurse Black from the raid before you DPS - **Hunters**: Dispel Enrage ### Phase 2: 20% #### Abilities - **Enrage**: At 20% health, Chromagggus becomes permanently enraged, but he can continue to enrage on top of that. Hunters need to continue to dispel. ## Nefarian ### Positioning #### Phase 1 ![](https://i.imgur.com/NFxUx3N.jpg) #### Phase 2 ![](https://i.imgur.com/tcFyHwH.jpg) #### Phase 3 ![](https://i.imgur.com/fAXsM7K.jpg) ### Pull Everyone equip Onyxia Scale Cloak! ### Phase 1 We will split into two even groups to deal with the drakonid spawns. There are five possible colors: - **Red**: Apply fire DoT to nearby people, resists fire damage - **Blue**: Apply a debuff with their attacks that drains mana and slows, resists frost damage - **Green**: Apply a stun with their attacks, resists nature damage - **Black**: Deal AoE fire damage, resists shadow and fire damage - **Bronze**: Have an aura that slows cast and attack speed, resists arcane damage - **Chromatic**: Have high HP and resist, need to be focused by melee/hunters Generally, we will be AoE these down. During this phase, Nefarion will be untargetable and will be fearing/charming/shadow bolting. Charmed targets should be CCed. This phase ends after killing 42 drakonids. After this point, Nefarian will Shadow Flame the raid and kill anyone without the Onyxia Scale Cloak equiped. #### Tanks Do tank things #### Healers Should be able to reach both groups standing in the middle #### DPS Pew Pew #### Class Specific Instructions - **Mages**: Sheep charmed targets, blizzard the adds, switch sides if your adds are blue - **Warlocks**: Switch sides if your adds are black - **Hunters**: Keep freezing traps up ### Phase 2 #### Abilities - **Bellowing Roar**: AoE fear - **Cleave/Tail Swipe**: Don't stand in front of him or behind him - **Shadow Flame**: Frontal cone shadow damage. Tank should be the only one hit, and wearing the Onyxia Scale Cloak. It is on a timer, so healers should be pre-casting and pre-shielding in preparation. - **Veil of Shadow**: 75% healing reduction curse, needs to be decursed ASAP - **Class Calls**: - **Hunter**: Breaks your ranged weapon. Unequip your bow everytime a class call is about to go out. - **Druid**: Forces you into Cat form. - **Warlock**: Spawns two infernals for each warlock. These need to be focused by DPS. - **Mage**: All mages will start polymorphing everyone LoS. Make sure you are not in range of the Main Tank. - **Warrior**: Forces you into Berserker Stance for 30 seconds. Tank will get hit very hard and their threat will drop significantly. - **Priest**: Makes all of your heals except for renew/PW:S apply a stacking DoT to the target. No direct heals except on your enemies. - **Shaman**: Drops totems that aid Nefarian. These must be focsued by DPS. Priority is Fire Nova > Windfury > Everything else. - **Rogue**: Teleports you and roots you at a location near Nefarian. Tank will need to flip Nefarian so they don't all die. #### Tanks It will be hard to keep you alive during the Warrior class call, pop stone shield potion. #### Healers Pump hard on the tank during the Warrior class call and the priest class call. Shouldn't be much raid damage. #### DPS Don't pull threat, focus totems/infernals for Shaman/Warlock class call #### Class Specific Instructions - **Druids**: Keep Veil of Shadows decursed off the tank - **Hunters**: Unequip your bow before each class call - **Rogues**: Save Vanish for your class call to break the root effect - **Priests**: Don't kill people during your class call, only use Renew/PW:S ### Phase 3: 20% Nefarian revives all adds from Phase 1 as spooky skeletons. They will be AoEd down. Use Goblin Sapper Charges/Strathome Holy Water if you got it. #### Tanks Off Tanks use your cooldowns, healers will take initial aggro #### Healers Don't forget about the tank, still got a dragon hitting him #### DPS AoE #### Class Specific Instructions - **Hunters**: Keep freezing traps up
