# Ruractive week 1 ### About me **Name:** Hannah Clinch **Interests:** Sustainable community development in rural places. **Contact:**[https://www.linkedin.com/in/hannah-clinch-tacit-tacit/](https://) **What we did:** Short online meeting with local team to establish project background and my role. We also did a quick version of the task set out in session 1 and wrote it up. **Outcomes :** See picture **Challenges:** Due to challenges around scheduling, there wasn't enough time to do the exercise to the depth required, but the exercise was a good way of sharing information about the location and getting to know the team involved in the North East of Scotland. ![Week 2 workshop 2](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/ry8u0lIcyx.png) # Ruractive week 2 **What we did:** Added resources to a google map **Outcomes :** [https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1VNGnpujK-CbaG1nq4f_k0g-avfMPig0&ll=41.40561115887524%2C2.1917618782741544&z=13](https://) **Challenges:** Interesting to see what is possible with google maps for free. Useful that you can take existing points and add your own content to your own map and publish to build up resources. [Week 3 workshop 3] # Ruractive week 3 **What we did:** Explored rapid prototyping and created a prototype film of an idea to support rural tourism in Perth and Kinross - A road less travelled. **Outcomes :** [![DALLĀ·E 2025-03-10 11.58.16 - A beautifully designed Rural Visitor Pass branded for Scotland, specifically Perth and Kinross, in a black, white, and pink color scheme. I had already used these applications, so there wasn't such a steep learning curve and the task could be completed in the allocated time. Learning new software can be time consuming. # Ruractive week 4 **What we did:** Reflected on the approach to co-design and co-production. Thought about training content for future sessions. **Outcomes : A short training session plan and notes** **Challenges:** Identified that more thinking needs to be given to the target group to be able to plan the training. # Ruractive week 5 **What we did:** Explored the applications for AI in rural areas, including farming and agriculture. As a group discussed what AI is or we think it is, and looked at different software packages. **Outcomes :** Like many people I had started to use AI within existing software and for searching for information. The workshop gave me a much better understanding of the vast array of applications. For homework I tested out https://lovable.dev/ and used it to prototye an app to promote rural cultural and heritage providers https://heritage-harbor-connect.lovable.app/ **Challenges:** Although there was some discussion about the morals, employment impacts and challenges of AI within rural places, this wasn't the main point of the workshop. On reflection, I think it would be good to spend a bit more time thinking through challenges and opportunities.
