# What is a KM/KMP token ? and why the balance doesn’t increase ?

KMP tokens are tokens you receive after lending on Kashi.

They represent your lending position as a share in Kashi. When you earn interest your balance will not increase but each KMP token will be worth more of the underlying tokens.

For example if you lend 100 USDC and receive 100 KMP token and the APY is 10%, after one year when you send back your KMP token to KASHI you will receive 110 USDC.

You can send your KMP tokens anywhere you want they will still earn the interest from Kashi, for example you can stake some into the [farm section (masterchef)](https://hackmd.io/@HHK-ETH/By4YoUw7Y) but you'll need them to get your underlying tokens back so don't loose them.
