# Problems? No!!! They are Opportunities
>Don't go where the path may lead, go instead where there's no path and leave a trail - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Today we continue from the series, which I will now title **Tips to becoming rich.** If you've not been following then you should read [1](https://whaleshares.io/@wls-africa/who-s-a-rich-man) and [2](https://whaleshares.io/@wls-africa/what-the-rich-do) Let's move on.
In as much as I do agree, partly to the *que sara sara* thingy, its worthy to note that things don't magically happen, especially if getting rich is one of those things. That's majorly because for those who want to have financial freedom, the future is theirs to see. Well I'm not talking about seeing happenings or events in the future, but if you going to be rich, then you should be able to project into the future. You won't wake up to a million dollars, you've got to put in some effort. Whenever riches come in a large quantity, it must be as a result of the application of some laws of success, these laws have been applied by all the great men you know, and it has created stupendous wealth for them.
Becoming wealthy has nothing to do with you been the best student in the class (if you can, why not?) It has nothing to do with working hard, you don't have to outshine the next person (you probably will only need this, if you are working for someone) you might not even be the most honourable citizen. Most of what you will need is a self determination, the will power to become different, the zeal to do contrary to what your environment gives as the limit, and also your ability to study. There's no amount of money you want to acquire that you cannot create, if you can simply see opportunities. Money comes as a result of your ability to convert opportunities to money or the number you are able to create. Napoleon Hill once said, **opportunities when they come, are often disguised in form of misfortunes, or temporary defeats, perhaps that's why many fail to recognise them.** Money when it comes in a large quantity is often as a result of your ability to recognise or create opportunities. The man that recognises his opportunities, when they come is the one that is blessed of all men.

The quantities of opportunities that will ever come to you, are always a small portion compared to the volume you can create. Yes, the size of opportunities that will ever come to you in your life time is barely 20% compared to the 80% you can create in your lifetime. Most of the rich men you know have either walked into opportunities or created one for themselves. **Patient dogs only get to eat whatever is left by those who huslted.** You sometimes have to create your own sunshine (opportunities) or walk into one, there's no time to sit around and wait for opportunities to come, you just have to go for it. I once heard a story of how Jimoh Ibrahim (Nigerian multimillionaire) created his empire. He went to Oshodi market to buy an exercise book containing the list of local governments and their chairmen. At that time, he couldn't afford the postage cost of sending letters to each local government administrator, for a workshop which was slated to hold in Abuja. He got a group of lecturers involved as facilitators, No money for postage stamps, but an idea came to him; to send the letters through all their liaison offices in Lagos. He walked up to the liaison officers and dispatched the letters through their officers, with the stamp **urgent,** which made the letters look more serious. He faced the next set back when he arrived Abuja a day before the workshop, without training kits for participants, luckily for him, a good number of participants had arrived a day before and he encouraged them to register. They paid their registration fees and he sent someone to get the training kits, the rest of the workshop continued in like manner, and at the end of the workshop, they made a whooping 3 million naira in profits, from a start up capital of 10 thousand naira.
So what do you really see when faced with problems or set backs? To become rich, you have to learn to see problems as opportunities for growth. Thomas Edison said *I didn't fail 100 times, I only discovered a 100 times the light bulb doesn't work.* When you see opportunities for growth in all problems, then you are on a pedestrian to greatness.
