## 🏄♂️ My work style
- Mostly prefer async, although I enjoy pairing and sync sessions for brainstorming and collaboration
## 🙏 My values
- What values do you currently espouse or aspire to?
- I aim to use my skills and talents to give back and support others
- I'm motivated by working to create more access to technology and opportunities
- I'm motivated by democratizing information and building tools for connected thought
### 💪 My strengths
- Everybody spikes somewhere - what dimensions of work do you feel most confident in?
- What do you feel like you bring to the table?
- Thorough thinking and attention to detail -- I aim to think through the various states and outcomes for our features
- Experienced DAO contributor and operator with a background in educational technology
- Experience working across multiple spectrums: design thinking, product design, engineering
- Active listening: Taking notes is a way I'm able to continue to actively listen and engage, and I enjoy doing it
### 🌱 My weaknesses
- Everybody spikes somewhere - what dimensions of work do you feel least confident in?
- I have a tendency to take on too much due to wanting to move work forward, which leads to not always setting boundaries
- I oscillate between asking too many questions and not speaking up when concerned. I'm working to find a balance.
- (Somewhat related to the above point) I can be relentless when looking for answers or for identifying question areas which can come off as intense and critical.
- Where can a team best support you?
- I appreciate the reminders to be mindful of capacity and balance.
### 📈 My ambitions
- What are the skills, experiences, and or opportunities you want to build in your professional career?
- To be added!
## ☎️ Communicating with me
### 📺 Channels
- How do you like to be communicated with in each channel? (Discord, TG | Urgent, Non Urgent, etc)
- **Urgent:**
- Discord DM or text
- Urgent messages are fine at any point in day or night. If I'm not around I won't answer (or if I'm driving/unavailable I may take longer to answer, but will as soon as able to)
- **Non Urgent:**
- Prefer being tagging in Discord and/or Linear
- DMs are fine at any point in the day or night. They're not disruptive or invasive
- **General:**
- I prefer Discord and Discord DMs, GitHub/Linear tags, or texts -- I barely use Telegram and tend to forget to check it
- I enjoy conversations and being tagged for context -- I don't view it as invasive in any way so please don't hesitate to contact me when needed or for situational awareness (although I do appreciate how conscientious folks are 🙏)
### 🕖 Time
- How do you want us to treat your time?
- I appreciate the awareness and mindfulness folks have around personal time and setting non-work time, but I'm usually happy to respond or help if I'm around (even outside of general availability hours)
- What is your general availability?
- I'm in EST and I'm generally available from 8am - 6pm EST, but typically will hop into syncs, respond to questions, or collaborate after 9pm EST provided I'm home.
- I have school drop off in the morning so I'm unavailable typically from 7am - 8am(ish) and occasionally need to do pick up in the afternoons from 3pm - 4pm (rather rare)
- If not directly working I monitor communications incase something comes up or if someone has a question/wants to collaborate. If I'm unavailable when someone reaches out I'll mention that or won't respond
- How do you typically treat other coworkers' time?
- I try to be mindful of schedules and boundaries, especially if they're clear and I'm aware of them!
- I recognize the need for folks to do deep work so try to minimize outreach when I can
- I feel most effective when I'm clear when folks are around and when they're not -- otherwise I try to be more hesitant about reaching out when unsure of availability or "work mode"
## 🍾 Style
- What is the best way to get on the same page with you?
- Clear communication whether asynchronous or synchronous. I enjoy pairing and jamming with folks but also equally appreciate clear writing with comment threads.
- Asking questions and being open to having questions asked as we work toward alignment and clarity.
- What is the best way to persuade you of an idea?
- Usually when folks are able to express some sort of foundation for their idea and provide specifics (as much as possible) about the impact and potential of the idea.
- Generally, I'm open to prototypes and low fidelity experiments but I tend to question how they relate to overall capacity and prioritization.
- What are some communication no-nos for you?
- Passivity or subtext, especially when relating to expectations. I typically favor clear communication as much as possible, so I tend to dislike communication styles that are less clear. However I also know that it's sometimes necessary to be less direct if there aren't details or time to fully communicate.
- What else should people know about you to encourage you?
- I enjoy positive feedback to help keep motivated, but I greatly appreciate when folks take the time to provide critique and ways that we can improve and continue growing and learning. This is especially true for any design/UX/frontend work that I do. I want to always deliver the best that I'm capable of so all forms of feedback is greatly appreciated. I recognize that folks take the time to do this and that it's not always possible.
### 🏁 Following up
- How do you typically like to follow up?
- I typically DM folks if needed. I tend to tag first in relevant platforms, but then follow up with a DM when it's necessary.
- How do you prefer others follow up with you?
- Similarly. If I miss a tag or a comment, I appreciate a quick DM (when possible) to draw attention to it. Sometimes I accidentally miss a tag so I always appreciate when someone takes the time to reach out via DM.
## 📈 Feedback
## ⬅️ From you to me
### 🐇 Motivators
- What feedback styles, content, and channels give you energy and make you the best version of yourself at work?
- Generally, I appreciate direct feedback. I enjoy positive feedback to help keep motivated, but I greatly appreciate when folks take the time to provide critique and ways that we can improve and continue growing and learning. This is especially true for any design/UX/frontend work that I do. I want to always deliver the best that I'm capable of so all forms of feedback is greatly appreciated. I recognize that folks take the time to do this and that it's not always possible.
- I'm also motivated and energized by seeing people who find delight and enjoyment in our product. I love when we see feedback from our users.
### 🐢 Demotivators
- What feedback styles, content, and channels do you find the most challenging to see as constructive at work?
- I tend to find passive communication and feedback more challenging since I find myself constantly second guessing or trying to understand the intent, which can become demotivating and inefficient.
- It's also challenging when I feel the need to repeatedly follow up on questions that aren't being answered or acknowledged, especially when on working on a timeline.
### 📝 Areas of note
- What things are you looking for feedback?
- I always appreciate our code review, and I enjoy our engineering culture with regards to review, feedback, and open communication.
- I'm additionally always looking for feedback on our product/UX since I constantly want to improve our app and add more delight for users and make sure that we're considering user (and team) feedback.
